A situation that can happen on multiplayer isn't the best reason to just change bows like that. There's also nothing stopping you from doing the same thing these annoying players do.
But what if I don't have a bow, or don't have many arrows?
Okay, Zombies weren't the best example, I know. But my point stays. When you get overrun with mobs, you don't want your enchantments to disfunction.
Well, how about only power is affected, and it does more damage the more drawn it is?
But still, even when overrun with mobs, I don't find it that hard to fully charge my bow or use a sword... and really, if you find yourself in a situation where you have no choice but to spam your bow then you probaly won't survive even with your enchantments...
How about, if you don't charge a bow at least half way, the power, punch, and flame enchantments won't do anything, and if the arrow hits something it won't knock it back. I am getting sick of people running at me with bows with power 5 and then just charging them the minimum amount required to shootand spamming them at anyone who comes close, and running at people and using their bows like machine guns. You die almost instantly and if you don't, then you can never get close enough to kill them with a sword.
I'm gonna just show this suggestion from Ouatcheur that I think would work well:
Fully drawn bow: 100% of the matgical boosts are added.
Not fully drawn bow, between 50% drawn and 99% drawn: only half of the total strength of the boosts gets added.
Not fully drawn bow, less than 50%: no magical boost.
Also, I think knock back with bows should work in the same way, if it's fully charged you get full knock back, only half of the knock back if it's half charged and no knock back if under half charged. Maybe durability should go down faster if you don't charge a bow up. It's not very good for a bow's string to pull it back that fast.
Make a new item that does this, and make them kind of like command blocks, you can only get them with the /give command. When you right click with the item, a GUI shows up. There is a place to enter the player you will be teleportintg or teleporting to, and 2 checkboxes: One that says "Teleport to this player" and another that says "Teleport this player to you." Then right click, and you will be teleported to that player or that player will be teleported to you, depending on which box you check. (Sorry I spelled teleport incorrectly!)
Can't you just invert a Daylight Sensor signal to achieve the effect that you didn't directly state?
(Also, those spoilers are more annoying than they are useful.)
Not everyone knows how to invert things with redstone, and it is much faster, cheaper, and more space efficient to have a block that can achive the same effect as inverting a daylight sensor.
I support this, so I can make lights that turn on in the night and off in the day. I never really saw why we had daylight sensors but not night sensors, because night sensors are much more useful.
This is a good idea, but it needs a slight nerf. How about 5 durability per hit on the first level, and 3 more durability taken away on the second, and only 2 for the third, fourth, and fifth? And you should not be able to get it on single player games without using the /enchant command, since they would be useless. (You can get them on LANS and Multiplayer servers, though!)
Pretty good idea. I think that Troll Hide should be able to be crafted into armor that is a little more effective then diamond, has a much longer durability, and makes you immune to poison (Each piece gives 25% immunity to poison). However, it makes you move slower when you wear it (Each piece makes you 20% slower) and makes you less effective with bows (Each piece makes you shoot 25% slower, and do 10% less damage with bows.)
Would be good for tanking lots of damage, but horrible at dealing ranged damage.
redundant, 100% redundant and redundant and also redundant. If you did not know, it is also even redundant!
You forgot to mention how redundant this is!
But really, just because you have to beat the game to get it does not mean it can be OP. This would turn minecraft servers into go-get-the-op-dragon-craft servers
For a long time on these forums there have people who want more ranged weapons and those who do not. So I am going to finally try and solve the problem. I present to you the shuriken! It is crafted like this:
This makes 4 shurikens. They stack up to 32.
Despite being associated with ninjas and japan, Europeans used them too. They have been around since the medieval ages.
I think that shurikens should be able to be thrown very rapidly (Three a second) and do 3 damage (One and a half hearts.) They would travel seven blocks going perfectly straight and then begin to rapidly descend. These have a special ability. They can ignore 50% of any armor your target is wearing. These shurikens make a noise that is quieter then a bow when you throw then and when you hit someone with them. They are meant to be used to quickly and quietly take out heavily armored targets.
I kinda support but a potion made from a fish should give a diffrent effect than haste. I just don't think it makes sense. How about it gives you a potion of swimming (Makes you move 40% faster in water) and you can make haste potions from something different?
