Mob - "a disorderly or riotous crowd of people." (dictionary.com)
It is generally easier to create a subentity for the villagers, just like a wither skeleton is a subentity of a skeleton. This is more practical than creating a whole new mob.
Yes, the post is distorted. But this is still a good idea

Cool idea and I support, I'd just like to know how powerful these vikings are.
They would deal about the same damage as zombies, except some of them can throw their axes as a ranged attack, and they move twice as fast as zombies because of their rioting anger.
I like the idea of da new type of Villagers, and I REALLY like the idea for docks, just not the attacking part.
The Vikings should have the same behaviour as normal Villagers IMO. Maybe it should have different loot and different buildings?
Maybe a Nordic style of building that uses spruce logs? The only question is should these villages also spawn in taigas?
Have you ever wanted villagers to fight for you but not in some generic and/or annoying way?
I suggest villager vikings.
If a village spawns within 20 blocks of an ocean, docks will be created the villagers that spawn will be wearing viking-esque clothing and hats with horns on them. This does sound a bit silly, but if you destroy any block in their village or attempt to steal from them, they will create a mob and attack you. However, if you manage to defeat them, you get to access the unique throne room in these villages, that which contains the "iron golem," except instead of a golem, it is textured as an extremely large viking chief. If you defeat him, you get to pillage the village and get all the loot!
If you don't want to fight vikings, you can pay them emeralds and they will act as mercenaries for you as long as you are within 1000 blocks of the village. They require one emerald every three days each, and if you run out of emeralds, they will proceed to head back towards their respective villages.
Iron golems were an awesome implementation into Minecraft. Why not add another golem called the "Brick Golem?"
There are a few ways one can encounter this foe:
- An extremely rare spawn in ocean and plains biomes
- Using flint and steel on a block of clay (50% chance)
- Smelting clay blocks in a furnace (1% chance)
- Lightning strikes a clay block (100% chance)
It would behave almost identically to an iron golem except it has bricks for its texture.
They could also wield explosives, acting as almost a suicide bomber. Think of a giant creeper!
It has the same amount of health as an iron golem, except it moves almost four times as fast due to the lighter material out of which it is made.
It deals 1.5x as much damage because of the sharp, pointed bricks.

What do you suggest to make the golems more unique, rather than a retexture?

Why is there a problem with additions to golems? Remember that this isn't specifically about golems, but also about all villagers.

You have to remember that iron golems are fairly slow, and if you have some friends or villager vikings, it would become a piece of cake to defeat!

Except in that case the player knows what they are getting themselves into. If the player does not want to spawn them they do not have to.

I'm sorry that I did not elaborate enough. I'll put forth extra effort in the future to make my suggestions very detailed and clear.
