Blender is probably the best way to go. You will probably just have to buy a cheap mouse and keyboard for 10-20 dollars each.

Actually, those were both fresh downloads. :S

Oh... lol. It looks like something to do with the server. But i honestly can't see as to why it would do that. But, as the old saying goes, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." So, unless it is a rather large problem, which it shouldn't be... 6GB ram, you won't have to worry too much.

I removed all mods, started vanilla... memory usage reacts the same way.

But I have one other issue that still bothers me: When running my server and client at the same time, my debug screen shows a huge spike every second.

Running vanilla with Optifine installed: Server ON, Client ON SMP.

    Server ON, Client ON SSP.

    Server OFF, Client ON SSP.

I have 4Gb dedicated to the server, and 4Gb for client our of my total 16Gb.

    Why is this?

That is really odd. I have not seen something like that ever. You have loaded a fresh world, no mods, and it still persists... Backup the client and reinstall it, then load a new server (new server... as in new .jar/.exe) then tell us whether you have the same results.

You know what I really hate? How the developers don't seem to have a clue what they're doing and the game becomes more and more broken and unplayable with each TU that is released. Which is a shame, used to love this game, but half the crap in it is broken currently. Lately seems like anything I try to do is stopped by some bug/glitch.

Oh thats right... i'm in the MCX360 section, the post seems so generic. I myself don't have an Xbox, but a friend has one with Minecraft on it, and i honestly don't see anything wrong with it. It is almost exactly the same as the PC version, which at times can be rather buggy. Although 4J do seem to be making some wrong turns throughout.

As said above, Turn VSync on in Minecrafts settings, and check to make sure that in your Video settings (or Graphics card settings, whatever it may be.) that VSync is turned on, this will make sure that your GPU does not overload itself for nothing, by limiting the framerate to your monitors refresh rate (usually being 60Hz or 120Hz).

Hmm, ok... well it's not causing me problems, I just figured this wasn't supposed to happen.

My PC is more than capable of running Minecraft with greater view distances and HD texture packs.

    Specs:

    i7 2600K @ 4.8Ghz
    16GB Quad 1600Mhz Memory
    Samsung 830 SSD
    GTX 590

Now with that said, due to the 590 being a dual core GPU... I doubt minecraft was designed with to run perfectly with this in mind.

That should work perfectly, but you never know. Also, minecraft does not actually have multi-threading, so dual-cores don't help here.
It looks like it's just one of those unfixable memory errors. You could try running the server on a different computer and have the client on yours, or vice versa.

But wouldn't everyone be having this issue as well then?

Yep. But, minecraft can be very unpredictable on computers, it may leak on some, and it may not on others. It's all down to the horrible optimisation. E.g. I can run minecraft on Far with a 64x texture pack with an intel Core duo and a Radeon 2000x , whereas my other computer with AMD Athlon 64x 5400+ and Radeon 4870 has a bit of trouble on far, without a high-res texturepack.

Edit: both have 2GB of RAM. So it's just minecraft.

Full diamond armor and you died in lava? How long did you decide to swim in there for?

Only takes about 5-10 seconds, and for most falling in sends them into panic as they frantically try to swim out, basically screwing them over.

Well, it is a snippet from some Cortex Command concept art. I snipped it myself. I now use it for everything, along with rexo12.

Most likely the Thumper from Cortex command.

    Or maybe the Chainsaw launcher.

    Or a Portal Gun.

    Yay! Cortex Command!

I would take one of these:
    Pulse Rifle - Cortex Command
    M60 - Cortex Command
    Bulldog [some-number] - Cortex Command
Remote Grenade Launcher - Cortex Command

    Or Portal Gun.
