If Notch is going to take into account how everything he adds can be abused for griefing, Minecraft will end up a very limited gaming experience. Here's an idea: play with people who aren't idiots.

To be honest, I sided with you at first :wink.gif: Enjoyed a few of your ideas/thoughts. However, when anger took control of your posts and all you could do was insult and add a bunch of periods to insinuate that your post was final and you were no longer up for debate (despite the fact that you kept coming back for more) you lost me.
i didn't use any more periods than was necessary. those are complete sentences. i suppose i could try harder to use capital letters but that's just not my style.
as for the finality of my statements ... i only speak that way when i'm dealing with complete retards. the guys is an idiot and doesn't understand simple concepts so i speak to him as his superior. i wasn't mad though. i don't let internet retards make me mad.

To all the people whining about ghasts coming through portals, you are pathetic. Turn it to peaceful if it bothers you. All the sudden a new enemy mob annoys you when you've been dealing with skeleton archers, zombies and creepers this entire time. JESUS!

I'm going to ignore your childish insults and focus on your misconceptions: Notch does NOT work for you, nor does he owe you any features or updates at any specific date. When you pre-ordered Minecraft you entered into a contract, and the details of that contract were made pretty clear at the time of sale: You have purchased a Minecraft license for use when the finished game is eventually released. In the meantime you get access to an alpha version, which may include update features as they are implemented. If you are unhappy with the state of the alpha version, then by all means wait until the full release comes around, as that is what you actually paid for. At no point were there any promises about when certain features would be implemented in the alpha, you are just getting access to development code before release.
Expect the MP alpha to 'lag behind' the features of the single player mode, as that seems to be Notch's primary vision for the game. Again, if you don't like this then tough - you were offered no promises when you chose to pre-order a game that is in early stages of development, it's up to you to decide what to spend your money on.

so if 2 portals have overlapping zones, they will go to the same portal in hell? what happens if they have 1 space between their effective zones and someone builds a portal in that area. which portal in hell would it use since it's effectively in 2 different portal overlaps.
i wonder though how the math works on that. if you create a portal it will, most likely, use that 16x16x16 chunk. now, does it spread out from that point in 16x16x16 chunks? what if someone goes 19 blocks away and builds a portal? do the zones overlap?
but a griefer can build one in the middle of your 40x40x24 base and then wait for ages until one of the rare spawns happen.

if the ghast can sense you through walls and doesn't need to SEE you, this could lead to some neat traps. find someones base and build a secret 10x10 room below it ... oh how devious! lol.
i wouldn't say it was irrelevant. i mean, you tried to insult his intelligence and improperly used "your" instead of "you're" which is a MUCH more commonly used term than "biome". that's pretty funny if you ask me.
