The material is as good as it is right now, stone golems would be way to OP, maybe if done weaker than actual Iron golems because of their material, and rarity of it.
Stone golems, you can have a pumpkin farm and have 100 golems, because iron blocks are way more difficult to get.

Iron has been a non-renewable source for a long time, but with these golem it had become renewable.
The way to make it non-renewable again is to change the drop of the golems.
Change the 0-4(not sure if that is the drop) chance of dropping iron bars with a new item, Rusted Iron Ingots, they would have the similar aspect to a normal Iron bar , but with brownish patches over it.
Rusted Iron Bar has no crafting purpose, but it can be purifed, this yet didn't thought about yet...... preferably a non-renewable source, somewhat like Lava(just example) or some type of new liquid, like an acid.
This liquid would ocurr underground 0-40 layer in ponds, it cannot be placed into infinite ponds like water is. This liquid can be contained in a special type of bucket,a golden bucket(just example, or maybe diamond O.O) you place the acid bucket in the furnace as fuel and the rusted iron ingots and VOILA! you got normal iron ingots. The buckets lasts for 20 uses.

Here are some ideas that I have that might help you later on, like things to do:
Secret chambers(piston doors , presure plates etc.
2 story dungeons (2 lvls)
Boss chambers.
Bosses (du'oh)
Nether Dungeons, maybe connected to normal world dungeons via portals :smile.gif:
Improved traps. Like a piston removed floor when you stand on a presure plate.
Gravel falling floor ,(idk how to do that but it would be great :biggrin.gif: ) like pitfall traps
No more creeper spawners O.o that scared out.... but its challenging....

Maybe THAT nether portal should be connected to the nether dungeon that your are planning.... that would be awesome...

Now to the topic, im really looking up for this mod, I bookmarked this diamond piece of mod, its very original, it makes map adventure makers retire and leave it to the mod! Its amazing! Haven't tested it yet, because im a snapshot fan too D: . By the meantime I would really like to do a request for this mod, ive got this idea in my mind for forever but im just to stupid to mod it or code it .
The idea consists of making the ocean biome more interesting,adventure like thing.
Add 8 temples in our beloved and big ocean, these would be dungeon-like . And have these nagas and seapeople guarding them, every temple is unique in its own way, there are 7 minor temples and 1 major one. The major one is opened by specific keys obtained in the other 7 temples, called orbs. Ive thinked of some names:
Orb of the Tide
Orb of Abyss
Orb of Ice
Orb of Water
Orb of the Moon
Orb of the Sea
Orb of Foam
Orb of the Myst
Orb of the Storm
Etc...
This 7 temple have 7 different Mini-Bosses, that are needed to be defeated in order to reach the chamber of the orb. These temples are enchanted in such a way that until the boss is defeated all the blocks that make up the temple are invulnerable,to avoid any type of cheating. Traps could be implemented like drowning traps and such but idk how they could be made XD.
The 8th temple is where the major boss resides, the kraken. His temple is a very deep Pit that its entrance is opened by this 7 orbs.
Idk if I mindblowed you yet lol :smile.gif: . PLEASE READ THE POST and tell me if u like the idea and if its doable :smile.gif:. Only 8 temples are limited per ocean biome.Idk if they can be limited in such way like strongholds.
It would be hard to tell where are all these entrances for this temples, but there it appears the use of pirate ship dungeons, where you get a map with the location of each temple. :smile.gif:
Some sort of underwater cheap lighting source would be great too since most parts of the temples are half-completely sunken.

Just creative builders... But is there a way to naturally fill that space? Hell yeah!
Making taller mountains would be really worth a try, with snowy peaks on them! And maybe
the chance to include eagles to the game ... That would give utility to the space in survival mode, that would make
Height exploration fun....
