Not a complicated design. Might be out there soon after a picture like this.

posted a message on Computer Upgrade?? Please help
    Quote from BigPapaRazor

First off I want to thank everyone in advanced for taking the time to read this and help. Sorry this is a long post but I wanted to make sure all the information was here

I am playing on an ASUS laptop, K52F I updated my RAM to 8gb thinking it would help with the lag and it did a bit but not as much as I had hoped.

I am on here to ask what to replace next, CPU or graphics card or both? Computer stats are as follows

    CPU- Intel(R) Pentium(R)CPU P6200 @2.13GHz 2.13GHz
    8Gbs RAM (7.79 usable)
    System type: 64bit op sys.
Graphics card is the Integrated Intel card

Now I did some research and read that Minecraft and Integrated cards do not get along so well, so I assume thats a good place to start, but what concerns me about the CPU is I run the cpu meter gadget on my laptop and it generally sits at 60% when playing minecraft. I know it is a CPU and RAM demanding game I just don't know if my CPU is fast enough. If it is not please note a good processor or at least the stats of what I should be looking for. Same with the graphics card.

I also have all of my settings as low as possible with the exception of smooth lighting is still on. I have the 64bit Java installed and all other programs are shut down.

I think thats it. Thanks again for reading this and I apologize once again for such a long post.

I can run it on my work laptop which barely has 2 GB of RAM and an old intergrated ATI card. Trust me your laptop will run it just fine, but if you're looking for upgrades...I'd say your processor and video card will be the first things to upgrade. However, if you get a newer processor you'll probably have to replace your RAM just to get it to the same type as your new motherboard. You will end up either buying a new laptop, or just building a brand new desktop.

Fact is, Minecraft is what you make of it. I've hit the "burnout" before and didn't play it for about 4 months until 1.8 came out. Played the snot out of it again for all the new features and joined a decent server. Now I just casually play day to day. Setting yourself a goal helps a lot, but you probably just need a long break from it.

It's hard to use it to build stuff, but I like it for screenshots.

posted a message on How do you avoid the Griefers?
Either build underground (big open halls were always my favorite), or find a server that will help you get your stuff fixed if you're griefed. Finding a server with people you can trust seems to be a real issue though. :/

posted a message on So is everyone an admin?
Probably a little bit of A and B, but that's because people think "admin" is an all powerful title. It's really not, you just happen to be the one that controls the server being up or down. Big servers that actually have admins making bukkit changes, etc are more deserving of a "real" admin title.

Hey, I can start running minecraft_server.exe off my desktop and be an admin, but that doesn't mean I know what I'm doing.

    Took 2 seconds using Google:

    http://bootnet.biz/default-password-for-the-linksys-e2500-wireless-n-router/

default username and password is admin admin.

If you changed it and forgot it, you could try restoring it to factory default, but that will blow away any custom settings, and you don't seem like you would want to do that.

posted a message on Did the Terrain Become BORING? (UPDATE 6/5/13 - 1.7 is a biome update?)
I didn't really have an opinion on this until I went and looked at my 1.6/1.7 map. The land was definitely more varied and exciting compared to my current map. Would like to see more variance in height and biome mixtures.

Join a random server and meet new people. Do something you've never done before in game. I usually take a break for a few weeks so the game seems refreshing when I get back.
