is 1.7 the update when she adds a 32x version or will that be later?

Yes, I should have the 32 version up for this update. Shouldn't take too long. :wink.gif:

    Quote from Kombo_breaker

also are you any good at making skins??? if so could you make a brick skin plz?

I've been thinking about doing some skins. I'll probably make some once I've gotten the second version of the pack done.

Hey thanks! I'm really glad that so many people have been enjoying it! :biggrin.gif:

could you also change the little pine/fir tree texture to a fern? I read that it's supposed to be fern rather than a pine tree, even though 99.9% of tex packs make it the little tree. It only appears in rainforest biomes so it makes sense. :smile.gif:

    EDIT: This thing right here:

Yeah I think someone mentioned that to me earlier. It looks like a little pine tree in the original so that's what I thought it was. XD It will be fixed.

could you make a 32 bit of this? i cant run 64 without tons of lag :/

I'm probably going to go ahead and post a 32 bit for the next update. I've been getting tons of requests for it.

    Quote from slothy89

Dr. K is aware of the stray pixels, and will be trying to fix it with the next update. Just be patient.

Also, the Dr. is Female (name's Ashley I believe)

Oh and 42and19, just substitute a HD font from another pack for now, even a 32x32 font looks much better :smile.gif:

    Yeppers, the name is Ashley.

As far as what's going in the next update:

    Font
    Paintings
    That ******* of a stray pixel(s)
    Achievement menu fixes
    32 bit version
    ????????

I have a suggestion to add to that. Whilst I like the idea of making the paintings functional objects such as signs, you have to remember people use them to decorate houses.

So maybe if you feel ambitious Dr.K, make one of both and have the 2 alternates either in the pack so you just extract, rename, repack. Or just offer 2 different downloads.
I just know that the main server I play on would look horrible if paintings were signs. Half the houses would look like a 16yr olds bedroom with a bunch of stolen signs on the Walls!
But the world I'm making on my own private server could benefit from signs...

Also, can HD fonts be near the top of ur list? Nothing worse than a pretty super high res pack that's spoilt by the ugly default font.

Yeah, I've been meaning to get to that. The default font is REALLY special on HD signs. XD

I really like the idea of functional paintings, so maybe I can make them functional in the 2nd, more Borderlands textures (which is in process) and just images in the current one.

Nice. Just out of curiosity what program/s did you use for this? I am finding that some of the tools in Photoshop are amazing for this sort of thing.

Yeah I use teh photoshops. It pretty much has everything you need. :biggrin.gif:

    Quote from Kastrel

So if concerning the 128x pack, would painting textures be 128x128 per square?

The paintings are set up on one texture, much like the terrain texture, and they're all different sizes. So some are 128 and there are a few bigger than that.

How is the work on the paintings coming along? I say that you mentioned you were thinking of working on those soon. Can't wait to see what you come up with. I think it would be amazing if you could get the original concept art for Borderlands.

Right now I'm looking up concept art and official stuff images for the paintings. My plan is to do something much cooler in the near future, but I think that there at least needs to be something more Borderlands for paintings as quickly as possible since they stand out now. :3

I just noticed on those screenshots that the health/armour bars don't line up still. Is this intentional? Or does it need fixing?

Are you talking about the screenshots on the op? Those are pretty old. I've revisited the bars to fix them.

This texture pack is beyond great, I really like it.
The only suggestion I would have is to look over the netherack texture, the blocks of netherack seem to line up rather strangely but it doesnt worry me too much :smile.gif:

It actually makes me want to reinstall borderlands :DD

I'll definitely look into it. I don't think the nether textures have gotten enough attention.

Hi, I started using this texture pack yesterday, and i downloaded the updated one today and found a possible graphic bug or something you didn't spot. Not allowed to post pic, so link to picture here: Graphical Bug?

EDIT: I noticed this 'Grey rectangle?' only appears on the torch.

Yeah that's the infamous stray torch pixel. I keep getting rid of it and it still pops up. I will not be defeated.

Yay! now my OCD checking of your blog/thread can end! lol cheers Dr.K you are nothing short of amazing :Diamond: :GoldBar: :Diamond: :GoldBar:

update: stray pixels on wheat and torches (full grown and side mounted) nothing i cant fix myself just thought id let you know, using x64 version not sure if the other has them still.

What are you doing to fix the torches? I checked the 64 texture right before I posted and I can't see anything there that would be causing it.

Sweet! Only 3 more hours and I'll be home to enjoy the BorderLands goodness! lol....

One little niggle... Is there a reason you don't update the terrain.png on the OP? As it's pretty out of date, I think it may go back as far as 1.2-1.3 or something.
It's just I'm at work, and wanna see the changes already haha..

Nah true reason is so others can see what all the textures look like before they download. Especially the newer ones.
I know I often rely on the samples in the OP to choose wether I like the look of a pack, so if I can't see what things such as trapdoors, extra plants, pistons (1.7) etc look like, as well as the main textures (grass, stone, wood, sand) I'll usually pass.

I'm going to download this anyway though as I know this is quality.

I was thinking that last night as I was posting. I would have changed it at the time if I hadn't of had to run to bed immediately afterward. :biggrin.gif: It should be changed soon.

thanks for the letting us know Ashley :biggrin.gif: seriously E3(and your job) is much more important/awesome than updating a minecraft texture pack, most of the impatient ppl are undeserving of the pack anyway. I hope E3 went well for the game your working on, seeing its all over now can you say what the game is? Also did you work on duke? love gearbox's stuff! keep up the great work :Diamond: looking forward to the update.

    Hey thanks!

And yes I can finally talk about the game I'm on. I'm on the Brothers in Arms:Furious 4 team (I did get to help out with the E3 demo). Unfortunately, I didn't get to work on Duke. It was pretty much done by the time I was hired. :tongue.gif:

    :Sheep: Hello everyone... :Sheep:

I just got back from London this past Saturday. I sincerely apologize for not updating before leaving. It was my full intention to have everything done before leaving so you guys wouldn't have to wait yet ANOTHER week for the update. Things got VERY crazy before I left what with me having to go out of town the week before E3 (the game I had been working on was going to be announced, so yeah a little nuts). ^^; Not to mention that this trip was very important to me personally.

But that aside, I'm carving out time tonight to update, but I just wanted to go ahead and leave a message for you guys. Thank you for being patient. I really appreciate it!

oh well, what's done is done... the message you sent me was almost accusing me of taking credit for your work, which i could never do as an artist myself i would hate to have my work "stolen"... my thread was plastered with "this pack is not mine" references, and i think people understood that. i was just trying to keep the fans of the pack happy... anyway, since my thread was closed i have started work on my own pack from scratch :-)

*Sigh* Okay so, if it's something that I've learned on the internet it's that most people don't read hardly any text. Images speak louder than anything else. That's where the logo problem comes in. My name was no where on those textures, but yours was. It would be very easy for someone who isn't familiar with the pack to come in and get the wrong idea. That's all I was trying to say, and I apologize if I came off accusatory. That wasn't my intention. Good luck with your texture pack. Look forward to seeing it. :smile.gif:
