For the last week or so I've been noticing that clients on my server crash a lot when they spawn or wander near the spawn point. I crash as well, as well as 3 other people who tested my theory. Is there anyone who might know why this occurs?
I've finished putting together the update, but I don't have time to finish testing it and documenting it right now. In the meantime, if you want to try it out, you can download it here:
Import it to the installer using File -> Import, then install as normal. If you get a file-not-found error restart the installer after importing it. I think there might be a minor bug with the installer.
I'm kinda worried about hardware compatibility with this one so let me know if there are any problems before I officially put it up. Enjoy the anti-aliasing! :smile.gif:
Are you looking at the most recent update? I've changed this and it doesn't seem to have been the problem.
Yes, downloaded today and installed on a fresh copy of minecraft from the first zip file in the OP.
If you changed printLogInfo so it doesn't return false it should start working, just remove line 152 of Shaders.java.
edit: If you send me a recompiled class file ill test it for you
Ah. I thought I removed that earlier. Anyways, yes, I just test this on a volunteer's machine and confirmed it to be the problem. Long overdue ATI update coming tonight. :smile.gif:
Can I post screenshots of it working on an ATI machine? :tongue.gif:
Install the mod, test it with all of the different shaders and tell me if anything different happens. It may fix the problem, or it may not. My fingers are crossed.
Well, I just checked some labs on campus and couldn't find any ATI cards. :sad.gif: I'm still looking but I'm really hoping someone with an ATI card and some GLSL knowledge will show up help me out. I'm pretty positive the problem is in the GLSL code itself.
But yet it works fine on ATI cards on macs, provided they're in OS X. If I bootcamp I get nada, but it works just fine for me in OS X. Shame, because there's horrible z-fighting/flickering on ATI OS X that's not there in Windows.
AHA I was right! I meant to test that myself. So it must be some kind of driver issue!
After class today I'll stop by some labs on campus and see if any of those computers have ATI cards that I can debug on.
Again, if you need a tester or something to help, I have 2 ATI cards I can test with.. (A 6870 and 4870...Not sure if there's much difference on the OpenGL front but who knows?)

Last two are me playing with world curvature. :tongue.gif:
Running in a Radeon HD 6870. Works just dandy! :biggrin.gif:

No results. :sad.gif: I've tried all the shaders. The only thing I've noticed is a lower FPS and a weird block bug.

Er, you may need to open this with Winrar or 7zip.

( Note: I don't have an nVidia card so I had to send this to a friend to test it. But it works fine for him! )

I can't help test for ATI compatibility by the way, if you like...
