I like being able to pause in the middle of a plan's growth cycle and then actually be able to look at the plant as a texture pack maker... but as a player I'm very concerned. Yea, it seems like you can really rock out with bone meal atm, but I don't know that wheat will be even close to worth trying to grow. I think that might make it a little too hard when starting a new map... But I never thought the game needed to be harder.Posted in: News
I never like it when the people who always shout "harder" get their way because they will never be satisfied with how hard the game is. They will always want it harder no matter how hard it gets. But that's my two cents.
Edit: So I'm really not happy about the bonemeal thing now... being that it takes 7 to grow any edible crop, wheat, potatoes and carrots. I guess I was just blindly hoping that all crops would grow one bonemeal per growth stage. If we add in a more concentrated fertilizer I'll be less annoyed but right now I already have stacks and stacks of bones that I don't use, and now I'm even less likely to use them and more likely to just throw them away. Useful items turned into trash *sigh* -

A dispenser shoots usable items as though a player threw them. Fire charges, arrows, splash potions, things like that will be used up. Dropper just shoots them out without using them, as though a player dropped them. Droppers will also put items in chests and other containers.Quote from Rodna 1999

You can now create an infinate source block without a normal block under it, but you will need to have a source block below it if you do not have a different block below it.

The ~ are blocks, the w are infinite water sources and the a is the spot you want to fill with an infinite source. Before, both source blocks would flow into that spot not filling the spot. Now that will create an infinite water source, making water much more... infinite, and hopefully that will mean that when you place a block in water and then have to remove it it will "heal" the source block and not leave annoying patterns in the water.
Where as this

[~][~][a][~][~]
Will not work, both sources will flow into the hole and not make an infinite source between them and above the air. -

Well the only way to tell the difference between the chest, without opening them, is to look closely around the area of the button on the chest. In the case of the actual chest, the area around it is a darker bluish color, while the trap chest is a brighter red color
I know the differences between them, as I said, I changed the chest so they would be more identifiable. Hoping that it would make it easier to tell when I had a trapped chest in my inventory verses a regular chest without having to mouse over. I simply want to know if I should report such a minor oversight. -

I discovered that trapped chests and normal chests both render with the normal chest's texture in your inventory. I assume this was probably either an oversight or unimportant since... well they are nearly identical in default. But it bothers the crap out of me because I changed their textures to make it easier to Identify the trapped ones for storage purposes/in storage. Is that worth reporting being that it's not so much a bug as a tiny oversight and more of a personal irritation? -

XD because knowledge is power! Thanks I haven't been playing in the snapshots in my regular world, only in creative... So I never had a reason to try and lead any animals >.< -

No it means that the potions are now sorted by effect in the creative menu instead of by length of effect and potency.

I'm having an unusually high number of animals glitch out of fences, in about 15 minutes I had 5 sheep glitch out of their pens.

Thanks for trying to help but I get the same problem there too. My texture pack comes up with a 404 error. But at the top it told me to make a ticket... so I'm gonna make a ticket. >.< very anoyed

What page, where? If I go to "my curse" and click on the name of the pack it refreshes the page, nothing more, there is a "download" button but no "Upload File" button... If I search for it, it takes me to the search results for what I typed, but if I click on the pack it once again refreshes the page, it does not take me anywhere. So what page? any time I click on it it just refreshes the page, So what am I missing?

Worse yet it acts like it's something that I haven't set up, but there is no place to set it up, when I click on other people's stuff it goes to their texture packs page... so why doesn't mine have one? it's been up for 2 days and there's nothing, how long am I going to have to wait for it?

How you said it should work is exactly how it works. Bone meal doesn't seem to fail on crops. It takes 2 bone meal for wheat and potatoes, and 3 for carrots.
I'm really REALLY sad to hear that the huge jungle trees are broke :/

Which is a pain absolutely! But makes a hell of a lot more sense than wheat and potatoes taking 7 clicks per plant... and with the 2 meal per tree it would still have taken 4-10 or so... So it sucks... but by the point I'm trying to control how tall trees grow I'm usually not particularly concerned by using any amount of bone meal. >.> Especially because I usually use Birch if I need a whole slew of wood being they always grow straight >.> But if you want Oak I can totally see why that would be a huge issue being they are SUUUCH a pain if you are trying to farm them without restricting their height. I suppose same could be said of Jungle wood... :/

They've already made skellies harder to kill and more intelligent for balance and to make it more survival-y, making resources useless is not how you make a game more of a survival game, it's how you make a game more of an inventory management game. For me it's less about the cost and more about the irritation. 7 clicks for one thing of wheat to grow is kinda stupid when it takes only 2 for a -tree- that will have 5+ chunks of wood, 2 or more saplings and maybe even an apple. I can get behind 2 meal for a tree but it just seems inane to put 7 clicks for wheat. Who would actually bother? It makes bones like zombie meat.
Personally if they want to make it take more bone meal I think it should be a percentage type thing, bone meal has a 50% chance of instantly growing a plant or something like that. I still don't like the idea but it's better than 21 clicks for one piece of bread.
