posted a message on After Red Stone - Magic.
Minecraft is not an RPG, there are already plenty of "magic" mods out there which change the UI to accommodate "spell slots".

Enchanted tools and potions should be the limit of magic's practical uses in minecraft.

This would be quite funny, but people who play in other languages would obviously get very annoyed.

posted a message on Obsidian Ideas
Obsidian stairs would be quite handy for death-fortresses, but nether-brick is good enough for that purpose, the only downside being that nether-brick requires a fair amount of luck/time, whereas you can probably start harvesting obsidian the moment you find diamonds.

I think the only things that it is at all necessary to add enchantments for is hoes, flint and steels, fishing rods, and shears.

posted a message on durability idea
I like the idea of very low durability tools (1/4 or under left) becoming weaker, as the current repairing system would work perfectly with that. Since the current repairing system seems to work best when you have 2 tools with a combined durability less than a full tool, by saving a weakened tool in order to eventually repair it with another weakened tool to make a more effective tool would be a reasonable addition.

At the moment I find myself trying to break my lower durability tools because there's no down-side to using them.

posted a message on Endermen can steal torches in hard and hardcore mode. V2
It would make sense, but the enderman would have to place the torch back down sometime.

I'm not too sure about hard, but definitely should be added to hardcore.

posted a message on Natural Pumpkins
Really, I can see this getting added.

Although the way you've presented it seems like it would cause pumpkins to be able to supply seeds without being destroyed. I'd prefer it if seeds weren't obtained from the carving process.

    posted a message on Hammer
Stop arguing about whose idea it was first, it doesn't matter because a hammer in general has been suggested time and time again, never being added.

Anyway, to the topic at hand: I like the idea of a "multi-tool" of sorts, but as a weapon it should be a luckier weapon than a sword(i.e less initial damage but higher chance to crit and higher crit damage).

When mining trees with a hammer, it should instantly convert the logs into sticks(you're smashing it up with the hammer, so it makes sense). It wouldn't really fit in minecraft, but it would be more realistic, and give the axe a little more usefulness than the multitool.

Mining would be good, but it should only be able to go through stone(no ores) and be a tad faster than a stone pick.

With the changes I've suggested in here, it would give the hammer a unique use, and the tools with specific jobs more effectiveness in comparison.

posted a message on Cows, Pigs, and the Problems with Leather Armor
I think a good way to make leather armour more useful/necessary would be to make iron armour require at least one piece of leather to craft each piece. Ideally it would use the corresponding armour type of leather armour.

Making cows drop more leather and less meat would make a lot of sense, the fact that they can sometimes not even drop any leather is very unbalanced.

Pigs are fine in my opinion, but cows should drop less meat to make pigs worth farming.

Why can't you just carry an enderchest and silk touch pick for when you want to store valuables?
