Here's a small lesson about these forums: You don't get to choose what kind of support you get. It doesn't matter if you posted a picture or not, any kind of texture change to glass wouldn't be worth a vanilla change.

Your're coming off as provocative. please do not post on this thread unless you can be respectful. Or I will simply ignore your further posts.

Extremely minimal support is not real support, it comes off as demeaning to me. I do not like to feel that way. And so you understand, the window will not be a texture change. The frame will be a second layer to the item. Like how Minecraft's players skin's have two layers to them.

You stated something in support of the wood cost that was entirely new to this thread. I disagreed. I was not reiterating. I was expanding based on my disagreement of what you said.

Use a quote then. So I understand.

Well most of the things in minecraft aren't very useful but are decoration!

Thank you. This is my point exactly.

I'd also like to see an image or two of what it'd look like opened or closed.

I like the idea as presented; but may I suggest that the recipe be changed so that it provides 4x windowpanes instead of 1x?

This will alleviate a lot of criticisms as the cost is a bit more justifiable for an aesthetic item that would mostly mean more harm than good (target for skeles while open).

I support as I don't see this as too much of a nuisance to add to the game and is transparent (apologies for the pun) enough for most players that wouldn't use it to just ignore it.

I'm still not sure I'd like it to open. It was a possible idea. I do however support the stained glass with frames idea. And the different wood frame types idea. How the window would open is too clumsy. (like a door) That's not how Windows work. Despite the fantasy/sort of based off of real life Minecraft world it would be in... In my opinion.

Wood is a renewable reasource, you can plant and replant as many as you like. I appreciate your constructive criticism, but yielding four Windows from one glass pane does not make sense to me.

So I think I'd like to revert back to my original recipie. With sticks only surrounding the glass pane. Possible wood types could come later. Much like different fence and stair types did in previous Minecraft's versions.

In a certain way that makes sense. In another way, why should an optional item be that expensive? To compare, two windows are worth:

    One chest.
    Four doors.
    About three trapdoors.
    About three beds.
    Almost two boats.
    Two crafting tables.
About eight of most kinds of tools.
    Five fences.

Mojang has upped the amount of items created by wood in the past, and I can only imagine it's because they wood to be a more worthwhile endeavor. Many of these items are also purely aesthetic, and yet you can get more of them for the amount of windows you'd get, despite the fact that you're likely going to need a lot more windows than the rest of these things (if you've decided to build with windows).

Chameleonred5 I understand your concerns, please stop reiterating them.

It'd be interesting to see a 3D version of a window with frames rather than a boring texture alteration. Though even then, it's a very small detail that probably doesn't warrant that much of a new add. Extremely minimal support.

And how do you know it's a "boring texture alteration" I have not posted a picture yet. And I do not want your extremely minimal support.

Ok, I just want to make sure I got this right. You get the wooden-framed window, and you get the normal one back?

Well allow me to clarify then. :)

You would take a normal glass pane. Then put it into the center of a crafting table. And then sorround It completely, filling every space with sticks. Then you would get the new item called a window. This recipie will only convert one glass pane into one window.

Chameleonred5. The reason behind the number of sticks is because the window is an optional item. It's not needed besides its aesthetic appeal. It's something you would craft when you want to make your home look extra special. Enough that you would take the extra time to gather wood for the item. Again not attacking, I value your opinion.

This sounds absolutely terrifying. But the game mode is optional. So go for it I guess, but I wouldn't personally support it.

This is one of those things where I think I'd actually have to see it in order to know whether or not I'd want it. Especially given that there's six wood types and it consumes an entire wooden log to make just one pane. I like the idea, but I want to see the execution.

I'm not trying to attack your comment. But wooden logs are renewable. I don't personally think it's a big deal. Also by execution do you mean a picture of the window?

They should be openable, too, to let the fresh air in.

-Great Idea! But it would be difficult to do. Maybe if they worked like a smaller door. But that's all I can think of so far.

Why do they use them? I always thought gold would be a better candidate. And it would give one more practical use to them. Besides clocks and powered rails. I'm not saying lets implement this, just wondering if there's a reason as to why it was not considered. The whole ruby/emerald color blind issue Dinnerbone was encountering could have just vanished, if they considered gold.

One of microsoft's goals is to have everything implemented on each version, however on the new education version. I do not know about, as they said this before the education version was announced. But It'll give us not hope that this will in fact be implemented. And maybe sooner than we'd expect!

    Anyway Full support! :)
