One question about dungeon 16 in sunburn islands....
Is there anything in there other than bedrock and diamond, because I haven't seen any wool or a way to get into the semi-large box of fun in the center. On a second note I did see some glass through a 1x1 hole of bedrock but have no clue how to get in.
I simply love some of the unnoticed details in legendary.
In East Commons I was diving to recover some of the things I lost, as I had tried to lure the Ghasts to start a forest fire at night. :huh.gif: While diving for my items, I realized you had included the debris of the destroyed bridge underwater.
It is great finding small details like this!
Edit: Seems Ghasts fail to light trees on fire. Shame there is now one insisting to patrol my house. :dry.gif:
Hey Vechs, I'm a big fan of the maps, and I had an idea for an easy trap. The idea was that a player finally gets to the first tree of the map, and they dig straight up, and the tree is tall enough to where they have to get into the actually tree, and build up as they go, until they are surround by leaves and finally dig out that last tree block and find gravel, or sand, falling on them. I did my best to give an example below... I'm pretty sure its not the best illustration of it though...
Lol! Great mini-troll. Do you know if the gravel would be visible from the outside?
Unless you have done it already, you might want to consider putting lava on top of TnT blocks, so they aren't so easily harvested, unless the player knows exactly where the top layer of TnT is.
Ex.
Even though it is removed from the most recent version.... On the "it's not a trap pressure plate", it was obviously a trap. Putting lava above the TnT would make the lava fall and ignite the TnT if any adjacent blocks are removed.
I must say, this looks REALLY nice compared to a lot of packs out there. I personally am not a large user of textures that may cause some blocks to be unrecognized, but I'm sure if the person like the theme, they will be willing to get used to the new blocks.
If there be any criticism, it would be how the lapis-lazuli (however you spell) has a very obvious pixel border around the ore. Otherwise it is great and shall be bumped back to page 1!
Very nice look! Personally I was trying to make something similar with more shading....do you think is possible to make the "glowy" effect to work while blending the colors against the black background?
Well i think hes following the results of a vote he did some days ago, and if i remember it correctly it is a: Open-World, ROM-Hack hard, nethery themed map.
Hmm....sounds fun. A starting area in the nether surrounded by ghasts. I'm sure Vechs will have fun with the fact that netherrack has similar properties to sandstone...
Just wondering from other players of these maps....how hard do you think it would be to assault a "fun castle". Aka, a castle where the very walls are made of spawners.
Wow it seems as though you finished #9 really fast!
Anyways, I love listening to the music you supply with the maps...except creepers tend to sneak up on me more because I don't hear them walking. :mellow.gif: This made me stop listening.
guess who got me in castle acedia with a sand above web trick... i thought that was rthe ony SandUpdate trap dr devious made
Trap ideas!!!! I saw somewhere that when pistons push some floor blocks, the person can fall through the floor, and into the hypothetical lava below. They remain trapped till they die. I'm sure if you play around enough you can do this with very little redstone, and for smaller rooms you can have a sand reset trigger, (again with only direct wiring). Note, if the pushed sand falls, the floor does not move.
The wiring can practically go under the lava, for those pesky adventurers.
Well it's basically X-ray vision, in a sense... you are taking advantage of the delay in the chunk redraw to see things you would not normally be able to see during the course of regular gameplay. I'm not going to tell you how to play a sandbox game -- I mean if someone plays my maps on peaceful for the sole purpose of building nifty looking buildings with modded-in resources, then that's just what they find fun, and more power to them. But for what it's worth, yes I consider it "cheating".
I just restarted, I shall not use it! The map is more fun when you don't know where they are, and you know what that means.
Anyways can you confirm the spelling of "LIES" vertically in intersection 1 caves? It is easiest to see it from the center.
In addition, in intersection 1, when you looked left of the entrance of "Floating Shards" there are a series of caves vertically near the corner. Is it just me, or are the cave walls carved out to spell "LIES"?
Oy, Vechs. Got a trap idea for you, and it definitely has novelty.
Use a normal gravel drop-trap with lava above it (only a 1x1 hole) so that the player will block the hole back up. Above, lava will flow once the block is placed and activate TNT.

Edit: Closed off ladder, made single door, placed torch on almost every block in room....still!!! *rage quits*

I love that suggestion, it would make a wonderful bs trap for the player.
Also Vechs mentioned not liking big circuit traps...have you ever considered rigging simple traps mixed in with all the redstone wires?
