How very true. I just quit a server that was meant to be survival because 2-3 members were given creative privileges. It's so difficult to find a small, truly survival server.
I don't know why this is such a difficult concept for so many to grasp.
Because it's 100% WRONG.
Alpha players get every update free forever.
Beta updates *MIGHT* have to pay for updates after the full game is released.
Same with after-release buyers.
anything below 100FPS on minecraft just feels.... slow.
You realize the maximum refresh rate on your monitor is most likely 60fps and even if it isn't the difference between 60fps and 100fps is barely noticeable to the human eye, right?
I get about 60-70fps on normal/smooth/fancy. MY old computer got about 6 frames per minute on tiny/blocky/fast.
You do know what business taxes are like in Sweden, plus all of the other expenses such as his staff, lawyers, utility bills, and everything else? Notch isn't swimming in cash, trust me.
The problem, as has been pointed out before, is that zombie pigmen are limitless and powered rails/gold tools aren't made a whole lot. It means you have far more money (nuggets) entering the economy than leaving it, which would completely destabilize the value of the nugget and make it worthless as a currency. Ideally you want an equal number of nuggets leaving the game world as are entering it. So unless you have a super-extravagant minecart system or you have NPCs trading for gold nuggets, or maybe even the admins having a tax on your land in X amount of nuggets per day, the idea is doomed to failure.
Um... no corners. That is what cylindrical means. A fence post is a rectangular prism. This is common knowledge, I'm not sure why he has to be him to tell you an obvious fact.
Hey guess what atoms are made of round objects so OMG NO SQARE OBJECTS EXIST IRL1!!1!!!!
So I figured out a 100% efficiency cobblestone generator, but I'm certain it's a glitch... I'll try to set up a schematic for you with the emoticons, since I don't have access to my desktop right now.
Step 1 (side):
Step 2 (side):
The cobblestone block you mine appears where the fire is.
Step 3 (side):
Step 4: (above):
Basically you just construct a basic generator, then stand on top of the generated cobble and surround yourself with any non-flammable block. So you have a stone behind you, over the lava, a stone in front of you, over a water flow block, and 2 stone to either side. You stand on top of the cobblestone that's generated and mine it out. You'll drop down to where the block was and when it reappears, your feet will be stuck inside of it, but you can mine it out again easy. It's 100% efficiency and the cobble regenerates very fast. I did this on 1.8.

I'd love a 3d egg-shaped model.
