Jul 26, 2012Thanks!Posted in: Screenshots
So far I intended the houses to be the poorer area, so they're pretty basic. Little by little I'll be expanding out into the "richer" areas of the city, so the houses will become more intricate and be made of different materials as well. So much to build, so little time!
Jul 23, 2012I never finish anything. Ever. So I thought that posting my current project might give me more motivation to keep up with it! Fingers crossed, right?Posted in: Screenshots
Originally I started building a castle for myself and a friend on my server, but once villagers were able to breed, I decided that there was nothing better to surround my castle with than a city!
As you can see, it is very much still a WIP. On the to-do list:
- Market area
- Fix rivers (depth)
- Landscaping and building within castle walls
- Landscaping around town
- Additional buildings in middle/lower class areas
- Upper class areas (including inn, tavern, bath house, etc.)
- More buildings for 1.3 villager trading
- Interior decorations of buildings
Castle and grounds. Another friend's unfinished home is on the right.
Overall view with "rice paddies" stretching off into the distance. The church and one other small building were what I started the town with. The villagers all still like to gather in that area instead of making use of the rest of the town. They also like to jump into the river, swim to the other side, and panic when night fell, so I had to build them a bunch of bridges so they would be able to get back to safety, the silly things.
Inside the castle grounds. We have a zen garden, animal pen, greenhouse, back gate, mining shack, gazebo, and boathouse. I want to deepen the water areas and add a lot of trees and vegetation.
The blue/gold pagoda is the spawn for the server. To the right is the main bridge that will lead to the main areas of town (market, etc.).
Imgur album with more pictures be here.
Ideas/constructive criticism welcome!

Have you been utilizing the plug in that cuts down entire trees? If so then I suggest that you keep trying to get onto the server at intervals. The same thing happened me when I tested it out. So when you get back on just dont use a golden axe anymore. :tongue.gif:
Sorry for the trouble.
I haven't been using that, but thanks for the suggestion! I logged on later last night and it was working again, just in time for me to show Terrowin to friends that were over. :biggrin.gif: Thank you though!
Sep 8, 2011I dunno if my permissions got messed up or what, but every time I try to get onto the server it lets me in for a split second and then I see a black screen. Maybe from the rank changes last night or something? Tried on two computers, so it's not just my machine.Posted in: PC Servers

how come every day i get a down grade :/ i cant even /home :angry.gif:
You weren't downgraded, there has been some trouble with the plugins or something. No one can /home and I couldn't /warp last night, either. I'm sure it'll be fixed soon.

- If you could describe your life with the title of a movie, what would it be? Don't think there's a movie that would work. They don't make movies about boring people like me. :tongue.gif:
Aug 26, 2011LuciDae posted a message on How many of you have never seen a legit Slime spawn in game?Been playing for almost a year now and only recently saw my first slimes. None ever popped up in my mines on SSP, but the main floor of my mine in my SMP server must be in a slime chunk, because they've spawned four or five times so far. It was cool enough to see a tiny slime the first time, but the other night a big one spawned.Posted in: Survival Mode
For so long they were these mystical things I never thought I'd see that now I get super excited whenever I find one.

Of course! I'll be interested to see what you do as your project progresses. :smile.gif:

I meant to comment on your thread, but I guess here works too! I really like the way you're doing the roof on this building. It's very busy but works nicely. :smile.gif:
Apr 27, 2011I've been on a Japanese-style building kick lately, so this is the perfect place to show some pictures. :smile.gif:Posted in: Screenshots
And finally, the historically accurate(-ish) shinden-zukuri I've been working on. The general layout is pretty close to scale, though I shaped the roofs and the two pavilions however I wanted. Still not finished, but getting there.
Apr 27, 2011Wow, that is lovely! I'd be thrilled to get in and take a look around if the map is put up for download. I love the way you put it on multiple layers like that.Posted in: Screenshots
Can't say I have a ton of suggestions (I am forever fighting to find a lamppost style I like), but I do agree with the others who have said that more color would be great. Market stalls in the streets or colored decorations around the door would help break up the mass of sandstone.
Apr 19, 2011Spotted this pack the other day, and all I have to say is hooray! There's finally a Japanese pack that I like and it's not even done yet. The patched water and cherry blossoms make it look especially lovely when looking out over scenery.Posted in: Resource Packs
Your pack looks wonderful with things I've already built using other packs (had to get the red wool back in, though!), but you're doing such fun things with the wool replacements that I'm going to have to make a world to build using only your pack to get the fusuma and tatami and all.
I can't wait to see more! :biggrin.gif:
