Unless you've paid for a feature such as this or if it's an included feature, the host has no obligation to.You brought the service, you have to have basic knowledge on it.

Excellent Post - Thank you for posting this. I would recommend all to read this. We put something similar in our TOS - Our TOS is in our ABOUT section and not hidden behind the "check box" on the check out screen

All persons who procure services are expected to have a higher degree of knowledge of computers, servers, the internet and how it functions. We will provide you with support on our equipment and our files 24/7 however we cannot be expected to know every mod, plug-in, program or software for every game, game server, web server or device in the world. That is the responsibility of the users of our services. We will help you on a "as time permits" schedule on any mod that you installed or want installed since it could take us away from our normal duties of maintaining the network and services for our clients. We make no guarantees, warranties implied or otherwise for this work, the mod, or it's effects since this is considered 'experimental" in nature as the software is not from a manufacture but usually a game or computer enthusiast.

posted a message on I Need A Cheap Server Host
If I may give you a suggestion 4 GB is good for only 80 - 92 players in Vanilla. Add in plug ins etc and the amount will decrease. It might be better to save up a little more and get the extra ram especially if you are going to run Multiverse or any ram intensive plug in. If your interested check us out in the Minecraft Hosting section but again my advice is to save your money and do it right.

I believe your best bet would be apply for a sponsorship with someone. Your ram size request might be too high for that though. 2 Gigs = about 40 on vanilla MC with 4 Gigs = 80 on vanilla.MC.

    Good Luck,

    Quote from rockkooky

    Greetings,
The forums seemed like a good place to find a host so here we go. I recently closed my server because my host wanted to charge me more money to support development builds and I refused to pay. I lost all my players and decided to start a new server. This server will be a mini-game server with economy. I will be having spleef, Hg, and paintball to start and will expand later. I finished setting everything up on my home hosted server and all I need to do is upload the files via FTP and my server will be open soon. Here are the requirements I need for my host:

    • Dedicated IP
    • 3gb ram
    • Custom jars (spigot)
    • 95%+ uptime
    • good support
    • A fast CP (prefrebly multicraft)
    • enough storage for 20 plugins and 2 maps/worlds
    • I will pay $35 MAX
    • Included mumble or team speak would be nice but is optional

    Thanks for your time,
    Aaron

not my fault i didnt use a calculator i estimated

also stop hating plz i got like 15 offers already today and i declined all!!

I wasn't going to respond, but I really must...

"not my fault I slept through 4th grade math and can't do simple arithmetic...not my fault I slept through 3rd grade grammar and can't spell or write...not my fault...not my fault...not my fault...."

Unfortunately it is your fault or rather your responsibility to learn correctly. Pen and paper were around before calculators and computers, fingers and toes will work if all else fails...listening to others speak properly is a good way to learn unless the one's speaking failed grammar also.

Learning how to create a server on 1/2 a gig or a gig is where you start, instead of demanding a $60.00 server right off the bat. However in your case, concentrating on your school work is the best thing for you. It isn't glamorous and fun sometimes, but it will get you that server quicker and easier in the long run.

You do not need to increase your budget because we run dedicated servers, not VPS, in data centers from France to Los Angeles and most points in between. For your price range we would give you 3 GB of ram - you choose the number of players, the mods, the plugins. TCadmin or Multicraft, an actual website you can customize with cPanel and Softaculous., a Mysql database on the game server (besides your webserver has Mysql with phpmyadmin) and a free Mumble server.

http://lowhop.net - Our front page lists this months promos, Our network information is just that and our game page is where the Minecraft and the other 27 + titles we offer.

Catch us on our live chat, our public Teamspeak or via ticket.

Find me on chat or in Teamspeak and I will give you a on demand promo code if you mention this post.

Hello my name is GeneralSparkzz, i have rented many servers and have managed many also. I was looking to see how a company is actually made everything from how they built the hosting node to how they make a sale. If anyone can offer a way to show me how a node is built that what be amazing. I understand the cost and the risk. I don't want any reseller hosters i want to personally get a node.

posted a message on Looking for East Coast Host for New Server
    Quote from DaMutha

I am looking to set up a Bukkit server for my 10 year old son, located near Boston, MA. Max players is probably 18-20. I would like to have full control, and also be able to delegate most control to him (with my oversight). Flexibility and ability to upgrade, downgrade or cancel service is important, and would like full FTP support. I work only in Windows, no real Linux experience. Low price/ low lag will be the most important factors.

    Thanks.

We appreciate when parents take an interest in their children and would be glad to help you with the setup especially the plugins you need to prevent foul mouth gamers, griefer's and other trouble makers from entering your server.

We would offer you a Multicraft account which is very intuitive and totally web based so you do not need to worry about the Linux architecture or command structure. We do all that for you.

Our servers start at $5 a Gigabyte and we have servers in Atlanta and North Carolina.

    Our our servers include :

    Dedicated RAM
Unlimited disk space (for Minecraft related files only)
    Free Starter Web Hosting
    Free Mumble voice server
    Free MySQL Database
    Instant Setup
Dedicated IPs at an extra $2/mo (depending on availability)

We have a promo this month for 25% off as long as you keep the server bill current.- use DCAD25

For more information and to check us out further - LowHop Networks http://lowhop.net

Hope you come by and check us out.!
