I don't have a "super computer", it's kind of basic but it still ran Minecraft.
Windows XP SP3 32 bit (1 GB RAM, 200GB HDD)
nVidia GeForce 4 Integrated (<- Fuuu) 64 MB
Ever since Minecraft went from Alpha to Beta I can get to the menu screen to select the worlds, but once I select one the game freezes and then my whole computer crashes, I have to turn it off and turn it on again to use it once again.
I bought Minecraft for its addictivity, please tell me how can I fix it, I don't want to buy another computer just to play it. What's wrong?

I'd actually like some constructive criticism and point out the flaws of each one.
1st signature - Azusa Nakano
2nd signature - Yui Hirawasa
3rd signature (2 versions) - Mio Akiyama
4th and last one
I should also add that I did not put a lot of effort in that last signature, I had no more ideas and was just testing some new smudge tools.
