I've been exploring my new map fairly heavy lately and I cant seem to find the mooshroom island. Is there a general method to finding them? How far from 0,0 are they typically formed?
i forget where it is in relation to the spawn code, but monkeyfarm mentions some kind of max spawnable locations in one of his vids. His most recent farm for example is 5 floors of 4 pads totaling 1020 spawnable location blocks. More than effective for any farm.
unbreaking/efficiency on a diamond axe for woodcutting is about it IMO
Debating doing a shovel. With the mcmmo mod on myserver I get glowstone from dirt and some other crap from others. not sure if fortune would increase that drop since its the mod adding it.
math wise horizontally you have 128 block range before mobs start de-spawning and 24 blocks min distance from you the mobs can spawn to play with a lift and drop to a kill platform. So, my thought would be to clear out a cavern 8 blocks to either side of center and 144 out to be the spawn area. The problem is getting the mobs to be funneled and the 8 block stretch of water. You almost always end up terracing inwards.
in theory you can build most sky based designs inverted or drop to a chute and mobivator up and into a drop. Otherwise I'd maybe try that massive wide one off the wiki with the channels.
I'm building a floating island at 200+ and was wondering is it at all possible for grass to appear on dirt blocks without contact to other grass blocks? It took me so long on 1.1 to simply spread grass to a new island on the ocean I'd hope you could bonemeal or something on dirt in 1.2
isn't it easier to have a sticky piston removing a piece of track from in front of the powered cart and a block being pushed in to hold a powered cart in place when you load it with coal. then hop in the regular cart and throw the switch to unblock?
