posted a message on Do Melons spawn in current world gen?

I know melons are in the game and you can acquire them via seeds/creative, but do they spawn in world gen? As far as I know they should spawn in Jungle biomes, but after about an hour of constant search I haven't seen one.

posted a message on Possible Sound Bugs?
A lot of things sound off, but the sound of opening and interacting with your inventory is painfully loud. It seems many things have their own volume regardless of what the overall sound volume is set to. I can barely hear the sound of mining.

Also, the double door sound is still there! The excessive mooing is also an issue from 360.

Yeah a bunch of sounds are way too quiet: splashing in water, walking on blocks, mining/breaking blocks (seems to be fine if the block is underwater but too quiet otherwise), punching some animals (cow and sheep, dogs seem about right), item pick up the menu pop is very loud compared to everything else.

    Quote from ToastyCactus

This is not true, you don't need to wait 2 days for anything to spawn, and slimes will now spawn up to Y:40.

First, make sure you're actually in a slime chunk, then light up any caves around you. Stand at least 24 blocks away from the pad, and if spawn rates are still slow, try going to the surface and killing off some passive mobs. You will get them eventually.

Lighting up the caves isn't really necessary and you'd have to do way too much work as they can spawn pretty far away from you. Passive mobs don't affect hostile mob spawns on the xbox. Passive(animal) and hostile mobs have their own separate limits.

As long as you find a slime chunk you'll be good to go. Don't dig out a massive area until you've found a slime otherwise you'll probably be wasting your time. You can use your world seed and a "program" to find slime chunks although it could be considered "cheating". Here is a slime chunk finder, just be aware that because of the 1000 world size your world only goes to -500 to 500 (on x and z).

    posted a message on Feathers

I would really like the ability to put dyed feathers on top of any type of helmet for team PVP battles.
I'm currently furnishing a castle with barracks and would love if I could give different sides the same equipment instead of giving one team gold helmets and the other iron.

Well a solution to that is iron armor on everything except the helmet which is leather (dyed, whenever we get that).

sounds like the host did not have the "Allow Friends of Friends" box checked.

Even still if the host invites you it should let you in, it just doesn't make sense otherwise.

posted a message on A fix for animals stuck on cliff tops clogging up animal spawn limits.
    Quote from MattoFelice

after they fixed that one bug about animals despawning my GF had a HUGE open farm of animals and it was great to see them walk around freely (not in that 19x19 or less pen). We had atleast 1 sheep of every color and like 3-4 of the other animals. Then the game updated and we got creative mode and all that (and we had to keep them in less than 20x20) and now they are all gone). I wish we could take tame them so we didn't have the limit so we could make that big farm again

Yeah that's where either a colar or animals being tamed when bred comes in.

posted a message on Torches produce light when held
    Quote from daveoneeighty

I think torches emitting light when held is a good idea, but believe they should emit less light than when they are placed.

As far as the dropped torches making light, what about a flare type item you could throw that would emit light for 5 seconds or less. Could drop it down a dark ravine to see how deep it is.

Both of those are totally acceptable alternatives. Really even if a held torch was half as bright I'd be happy, and the example you gave is exactly the scenario for "flares". It could be could if they could be thrown about the same distance as a snowball.

    Possibly join bug.

A friend was in a game hosted by his friend and both of them sent me invites, but when I tried joining it said I couldn't connect because "You cannot join the game because it has been limited to player who are friends of the host".

I'd assume this is a bug as it wouldn't make sense for it not to allow people the host invites.

posted a message on Torches produce light when held
When you hold a torch they emit as much light as if they were placed on a wall. This would allow better cave exploration without having to constantly throw down torches just to see.

It could be implemented as a unplaceable lamp instead, which would only be used for "held light".

It would also be awesome for dropped/tossed torches to make light, but I could see that being to taxing on the system.

I know the "drunken santa" in the holiday pack will sit down if you're idle for about 10 seconds and the zombie skins put their arms out like actual zombies. Are there others?

posted a message on More Moderator Abilities
    Quote from FelixTheBunny

There aren't Mods on Minecraft for the Xbox 360 (yet)

He means moderator. The host can make players moderaters and they can adjust all the normal "player settings" (including banning) except for making other player mods or the host.

The host can turn on "host settings" (or whatever it's called) and then turn on flying, no exhaustion, and invisibility/invulnerability.

So he want's moderators to have those abilities too, which I agree with. However I'd prefer it do be an additional toggle for the host to let them have those abilities or not.

posted a message on We Need Upside-Down Stairs!
    Quote from WeazilClawz

I'm pretty sure all other builders and I can agree on this topic... WE NEED THE ABILITY TO PLACE UPSIDE DOWN STAIRS! While this feature isn't a big game changer, it sure makes details alot easier for us builders. This update is around the time, or even before, PC got upside down stairs. Like I said, this isn't really needed, but we've been promised this feature for quite awhile now... We also need command blocks... *shiver* *shiver* Command Blocks.... My precious...

While I do want those, this isn't something to post on /suggestions. Those are already in minecraft (pc) and we'll get them within a few updates. This section is for brand new things.

    Assorted vine bugs-

    1. When harvesting vines any vines that are attached below it but not on a block (like here http://i.imgur.com/me9H5QA.jpg) are "broken" instead of dropping a resource.

2-3: corner vine piece bugs (as pictured here ).

    2. When there is a vine piece on one of the "corner" blocks (see above picture) and place a vine on the other corner block it will remove the first piece. To bypass this you have to dig a block higher, place the vine there, and let the vine grow down. Then it doesn't break the other one.

    3. When you get a vine piece on each corner block it makes a whole block sized hitbox instead of ladder/vine sized. This makes it impossible to place other block when on that vine piece on close to it.
