    posted a message on Need Help With Item Model Textures!

    Hey guys, I'm using "MrCrayfish's Model Creator" to create item models. However; I know not on how the textures should look. Will it work if I make the texture appear like its a texture of armor and entities? If not, then how should I make them? I saw the examples given in the program itself (The Cauldron and The Chair) and saw that for the chair, the program uses the cyan wool and oak planks texture. Please tell me that that is not the only way it would work! Cause the items I'm making don't contain any of the block textures that are minecraft's default nor any that are in my mod.

    posted a message on Item Models!

    I have a question about modeling items such as "Tools". Well... actually, i have three. First Question: Will saving an item model as .java work or does it have to be in .json format? Second Question: If it has to be in .json format, then what program would be good for modeling an item that also saves the model in .json format? and Third Question: How exactly should the model's textures look like? Will it have to be how the armor textures and mob textures look like, or what?

    Note: i'm not like any ordinary human being. my brain process is 10x slower than anyone else's due to be LD(a.k.a. Learning Disability) and with that, it will take me years to learn java. i refuse to do such a thing cause not only is that way too long, but during the few years it will take me, i'll eventually lose interest. instead im just gonna request for someone to make a mod for me and if interested in helping me, check out my post here:

    posted a message on Mod Request For My Server!

    hey guys, i'm need of a mod done if anyone is willing! I've tried to make one but i just cant make one to save my life! I Don't want to spend years on learning how to code in java(Trust me, it may not take years for an average humanbeing to learn something such as this, but im not what you would call average... i'm more below average. Like really really below.) All i really want are a few furniture blocks, custom armor, and all that jazz. But before i say exactly what i want done, i want to see if anyone would be willing. And if so, ill post a link to my subdomain that has pictures and what not on it of the things i already made but just need to be coded and all that, as well as a link to download my folder filled with all the files that will be required(such as images, models, json files and what-not!) I hope some one can help me!

    Hey guys. i was watching a tutorial on how to make custom armor and i want to know if i put stuff in right:

    my Mod's main class:

    package mod.mozo.mecha101;

    import java.util.Random;

    import mod.mozo.mecha101.proxy.CommonProxy;
    import net.minecraft.entity.player.EntityPlayer;
    import net.minecraft.item.ItemStack;
    import net.minecraft.world.World;
    import net.minecraft.world.WorldProvider;
    import net.minecraft.world.chunk.IChunkProvider;
    import net.minecraftforge.client.model.obj.OBJLoader;
    import net.minecraftforge.common.MinecraftForge;
    import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.IFuelHandler;
    import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.IWorldGenerator;
    import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.Mod;
    import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.Mod.EventHandler;
    import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.Mod.Instance;
    import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.SidedProxy;
    import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.event.FMLInitializationEvent;
    import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.event.FMLPreInitializationEvent;
    import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.event.FMLServerStartingEvent;
    import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.eventhandler.EventBus;
    import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.network.IGuiHandler;
    import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.network.NetworkRegistry;
    import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.registry.GameRegistry;
    import net.minecraftforge.fml.relauncher.Side;

    @Mod(modid="MOZO", version="1.8.9", acceptedMinecraftVersions="[1.9]")
    public class MOZO{
      implements IFuelHandler, IWorldGenerator;

      public static final String MODID = "MOZO";
      public static final String VERSION = "1.8.9";
      @SidedProxy(clientSide="mod.mozo.mecha101.ClientProxy", serverSide="mod.mozo.mecha101.CommonProxy")
      public static CommonProxy proxy;
      @Mod.Instance("MOZO")
      public static MOZO instance;

      @EventHandler
      public void init(FMLInitializationEvent event) {

    	  ArmorMaterial Useless = EnumHelper.addArmorMaterial("useless", 0, new_int[]{0, 0, 0, 0}, 0);

    	  Item custom_helm = new AmberArmor(Useless, 1, 0).setUnlocalizedName("custom_helm");
    	  Item custom_plate = new AmberArmor(Useless, 1, 1).setUnlocalizedName("custom_plate");
    	  Item custom_legs = new AmberArmor(Useless, 1, 2).setUnlocalizedName("custom_legs");
    	  Item custom_boots = new AmberArmor(Useless, 1, 3).setUnlocalizedName("custom_boots");

    	  GameRegistry.registerItem(custom_helm, "custom_helm");
    	  GameRegistry.registerItem(custom_plate, "custom_plate");
    	  GameRegistry.registerItem(custom_legs, "custom_legs");
    	  GameRegistry.registerItem(custom_boots, "custom_boots");
      }
    }

    Here is the only armor class that i managed to finish:

    package mod.mozo.mecha101.armor;

    import mod.mozo.mecha101.armor.ArmorMaterial;
    import mod.mozo.mecha101.armor.Entity;
    import mod.mozo.mecha101.armor.IIconRegister;
    import mod.mozo.mecha101.armor.ItemArmor;
    import mod.mozo.mecha101.armor.ItemStack;
    import mod.mozo.mecha101.armor.SideOnly;

    public class AmberArmor extends ItemArmor{

    		public AmberArmor(ArmorMaterial material, int render_idx, int type) {
    			super(material, render_idx, type);

    			this.setMaxStackSize(1);
    			this.setCreativeTab(CreativeTabs.tabCombat);
    		}

    		@Override
    		public String getUnlocalizedName(){
    			return String.format("item.%s%s", Resource.RESOURCE_PREFIX, getUnwrappedUnlocalizedName(super.getUnlocalizedName()));
    		}

    		@Override
    		public String getUnlocalizedName(ItemStack itemstack){
    			return String.format("item.%s%s", Resource.RESOURCE_PREFIX, getUnwrappedUnlocalizededName(super.getUnlocalizedName()));
    		}

    		protected String getUnwrappedUnlocalizedName(String unlocalizedName){
    			return unlocalizedName.substring(unlocalizedName.indexOf('.') + 1);
    		}

    		@Override
    		@SideOnly(Side.CLIENT)
    		public void registerIcons(IIconRegister iconregister){
    			this.itemIcon = iconRegister.registerIcon(this.getUnlocalizedName().substring(this.getUnlocalizedName().indexOf('.') + 1));
    		}

    		@Override
    		public String getArmorTexture(ItemStack stack, Entity entity, int slot, String layer){

    			String name = this.getUnwrappedUnlocalizedName(super.getUnlocalizedName());
    			name = name.substring(0, name.indexOf('_'));

    			return String.format("%s:textures/models/armor/%s_layer_%d.png", References.mod_id, name, slot == 2 ? 2 : 1);
    		}
    	}
