For traps, I prefer the very interesting, non painful/lethal ones. Like open a chest, hear pistons go and some TNT explode, a ghast scream, and then mooshrooms on chickens fall from the ceiling. Loot mooshrooms, which would drop random semi good items. Kinda like a randomized loot chest, only more useful, less common, and really funny to watch.
Community question:
Do people prefer having the ability to farm their own food and wood, or having large food and wood drops in chests? Genuinely curious.
I prefer little to no farming for wood (I'm a horrible derp, and not needing to constantly grind for it is awesome). Food wise, I prefer meh food (cookies, pumpkin pie, potatoes) to be given out freely, and only small bits of the good food given out. I like grinding for the better food, because it involves murdering mobs.
About this, I think the random loot chests themselves need a complete change. Currently, all the random loot chests use the same table, which means any place with 3-4 random loot chests can fully supply a player for the rest of the dungeon (except harder dungeons. Those might need 9-10). I think just having a basic loot chest seen in the first intersection, then higher tiers, would work better. That way you have your random loot, balanced to the area, and you know that looting the random loot chests later will also be useful.
-EDIT-
On the grinding, not grinding, lowering grinding in a game is good. Removing any penalty of dying or losing items is bad. With the spamming loot everywhere, dying loses all penalty. And if you die 60+ times in a area, you kinda deserve to lose loot.
Question:
I am just about to enter lush ruins, and i was wondering if my equipment is good enough:
Here's a screenshot of what i have:
In case you can't see, i have:
1 and 1/2 sharpness IV unbreaking III knockback I iron swords
2 stone picks and the power miner 1000
power II flame II bow with 2 stacks of arrows
cleophian crate booper for fast mining
36 steak and 12 golden apples
12 enderpearls (i have another 10 in a chest)
3 2:00 regen pots and 1 instant health pot (have more)
1 stack of stone bricks, 1 stack of sandstone and 25 wood for torches
3 stacks of torches plus 32 extra coal.
My boots have feather falling IV and unbreaking 3. And im putting blast prot IV on my chest.
Oh, and the backpack is from the backpack mod forgot to uninstall it before starting the map.
Is that good for lush ruins or do i need something better?
If you plan on taking the fun path, no. If you plan on flying through the air like a large, ungainly bird, then yes.
Way back when off topic stuff was eaten and IM was in development, Vechs said he was going to make a Misty statue in IM, so any pictures of Rosie's cat were on topic. But there is no statue.
Farking pain water has it... gonna try one more tactic involving lots of sand and gravel and if that don't work im creativing in the wool. Ive died 20+ times in that area alone.
this after starting legendary over and actually making it to pain water with only dying 6 times. instead of 27 times the time prior.

Oh... and I found the diamond tools and bread... .and promptly blew up... Im like ermhagherd.... no one else I watched do the challenge blew up... but I did.
So, instead of trying to get through it, coming back later, or ATTEMPTING A DIFFERENT METHOD OF GETTING THE WOOL, you're going to cheat?
I'm not sure if I should ask this, but since I intend to play the map in a close future
I haven't been visiting the thread for a while, so I might have missed any details about this. Why isn't Sunburn Island a choice now? Wasn't it updated recently?
SI update included edits to several dungeons to include custom mobs. Sadly, this means Dungeon 2 is now a cheapy loser, while every other dungeon is still pretty easy until 15 + 16.

Do chickens drop diamonds yet? Can you make animals explode into drops? Is super hostile mode added?! WHY DO TORCHES NOT BURN OUT?

I think it would be considered legit, as it doesn't make the game any easier.
