1) Health did not regenerate. This was mainly a problem in that falling into lava gave you a second to get out and live, but due to no health regeneration required you to have full health. This led to the best situation if you lost health to be try to find a checkpoint, then suicide.
2) Checkpoint did not function. Small gripe here, the checkpoint before the elevator hatch/overcharged instant kill level has a checkpoint. Dying after using it listed "your bed is obstructed or missing" and used the normal level spawn (IE the entire beginning). Only checkpoint I had this problem with.
Also, I noticed the game 'ended' after 4 levels, but using creative mode and flying around I found what looked to be a almost entirely functioning 5th level labeled as the 4th (zombie fortress explody one), a 5th one with nothing yet in it, and a giant arena meant to fill with lava. Somewhat neat, but wondering what happened since the exploding fortress one sounds like something implemented but I could not find a legitimate way inside to begin the world.
Never actually got around to playing this and have free time, minecraft, and an urge to attempt to not fail so I guess I'm doing this.
So far the start is pretty looking and the traps already killed me in a depressingly sad way. This is a pretty bad start but oh well. Rules area reached, death count 2 (one from trap, one from suicide after making a bed to regain food). Entering the first area led to a skeleton gangbang, wild running through, and then death.
Having played the original before this was remarkably faithful and had quite a lot of fun in it. Puzzles were relatively easy, though ones with bombs were almost too easy due to the explosions allowing a player to skip parts of the actual puzzle. Overall fun, though wish some blocks (notably the direction ones) were used more. Also wished the falling/vanishing blocks stayed up a tiny bit longer, as during gameplay I had troubles consistently being able to tell where I needed to go and jump off in that direction in time.
Going through the old CTM maps. First up is Sunburn Island
Thoughts on the map:
Difficulty curve was more like a difficulty rollercoaster. Several dungeons, notably the starter, pirate fleet, hidden leaf, and boat one, were extremely easy even with just the basic gear scavenged up. Several were massively harder, with haunted mines and the frozen tropics under ice one. Both were filled with mobs and the haunted mines used 3 different custom mobs, including the boomers. Overall very weird difficulty, with the 1st dungeon being almost impossible to die in and the 2nd being hard, especially for base materials at that point.
Custom loot: Overall somewhat smooth curve. Never had to worry about food, wood, or coal just from scavenging these, and the pirate fleet contained full diamond gear for a extremely easy day time dungeon. Overall decent and I at least felt at any point in the game looking in the chest was worthwhile.
Overall, fun beginner map. Died once due to the Black Wool dungeons flame Chars but everything else was relatively easy.
Favorite Thing to do in MC: Exploring and defeating monsters while looting things. Also enjoy making monster traps/grinders, though I'm only average at that.
What you bring to the Server: Decent player, various maybe functional mob grinders, and :3 emoticons.
Any builds you would like to show: http://imgur.com/a/twEA2 Not amazing, but was a fun build to make when I was bored. Would have pictures of the ocean monument grinder + general purpose grinder I made but server they were on shut down.
Unsure, it's been a while but I don't think so. Kaizo Caverns was also made and balanced a long time ago (pre enchanting existing) so I would recommend either downgrading to the recommended version or just not using enchanting on that map.
Yeah, just checked the page quickly, noticed most current maps were there, and due to his question having "every download link" thought it answered. After actually checking (been gone a massive amount of time, so this is a guess) I'm thinking when FileSwap stopped allowing free accounts he moved most of his current maps over and just ignored the rest.
So for Sirknight, your best bet would be to find someone who still has those maps downloaded I guess :/
Scroll down the page slightly. You see the bolded red text that says "The new official home of Super Hostile is here! Download the maps at:"? Click the link right below it.
Nononononono. I'm pretty sure you wanted something easy.
Yeah. Having actually checked out said map, I think I decided to nope it for a bit. I haven't played minecraft in several months, and do prefer to start out dying to easier things, like water, or pigs.
A couple of friends and I really want to try and get a multiplayer playthrough of some of Vechs' maps going together. We'd like to start with Sunburn Islands since it's not too brutal
With me being the most techy it's kinda up to me to get it running so I'm kinda reaching out for some advice on how I could most successfully get the three of us playing one of these maps together:
-I'm aware that most of what I need to know is general "how do I make a multiplayer minecraft thing / what is the best thing to serve my needs?" type stuff so I won't ask that here but what I do feel is on topic to ask though is:
-- What verisions of minecraft are recommended to play the various maps, especially our first choice of Sunburn Islands?
-- Am I going to need to make any edits to the maps to make them multiplayable? (Or can I start in single player and open to multiplayer or some such?)
Thanks!
Multiplayer wise, all the maps should be good to go (except Nightmare Realm, which would need some tweaking), though with more people you'll have less loot for each.
I'm playing your Super Hostile Saga, starting from Sea of Flames II, and I would like to ask you if you want me to send the gameplays, because I'm recording it to upload to YouTube. Indeed, We're playing it talking Spanish, because We're from there .
Well, tell me if you want to put the gameplays in the forum, I don't mind, I would like to help you, that was an amiazing first chapter, I died like 4 times xD.
Greetings Vechs, Crysis_27.
This thread is for anything related to vechs super hostiles. So yeah, you can post your gameplay videos here

...I think this isn't going to be a good run.

Thank you for linking this! Nice to know there will be more Super Hostile's in the future.

Thanks! Checking out Fang's minimap (not biased whatsoever to cats) first, then the others
