provides a quick and easy port forwarding solution which automatically makes your local servers accessible to the rest of the world without requiring technical knowledge or access to the router configuration and works out of the box with most customer router models.

    Key Features

    • Simple User Interface
    • Presets for your favorite games
    • Instant access from the outside of your network

    System Requirements

    • Windows, Mac OS or Linux
    • Java 9 or newer
    • A UPnP compatible router (the program will simply not work if UPnP is unavailable or disabled; see below)

    How To Use

    The interface is mostly self-explanatory:

    1. Start the Program by double-clicking the executable (Linux and Mac Users will have to make sure they have the appropriate Java version associated)
    2. Choose a Game (such as Minecraft)
    3. Click Start
    4. Leave the program running in the background (DO NOT CLOSE THE APPLICATION UNLESS YOU WISH TO DISABLE ACCESS TO YOUR SERVER)

I started the program - What address do I give my friends?

You will need to hand out your public address (your public address does not start with 10, 127, 192.168, 172.16 or fd00::).

The application will display your public address on the bottom left. If this is not the case (which may occur with some cheaper or exotic routers/modems), you may also use one of the following services:

I can't connect to my own external address!

Some cheaper (or older) router models will not permit you to access your external address from inside of the network. Ask one of your friends to test it or use a third-party service such as CanYouSeeMe (the port numbers can be found in the application interface).

I still can't access my server

Chances are that your router does not properly implement UPnP or that your network configuration is too complex for automatic detection. In this case, you should resort to manual configuration.

My friends can't access my server anymore. It worked fine yesterday!

Some countries (especially European countries) typically disconnect you from the Internet every 24 hours to assign a new IP address. In these cases, you will have to hand out the new address every 24 hours (or use a dynamic DNS service such as No-IP to create a permanent domain name).

People are experiencing lag on my server (the server itself is fine)!

Residential networks tend to be rather limited in their bandwidth capacities (especially when it comes to upload bandwidth). Chances are that you are overloading your connection. In these cases, it is highly recommended to rent a cheap server as they offer much better performance for these kinds of applications.

Windows is warning me that not many people run this program? Is it a virus?!

No. This is simply Windows SmartScreen trying to protect you from harmful programs. As the message clearly states, this program is still relatively new and not many people are running it on their computers. Simply choose the "Run Anyways" option (if the option is not displayed, you may have to click on the "More Information" link first).

    I have more questions!

Simply ask away. I periodically check this thread and try to answer any questions.

    Upcoming Features

    • Tray Icons

    Release Highlights

    • The old buggy JDK attachment system has been removed

posted a message on Base Defense Mod - Focus on building rather than protecting!

    Hey Everybody,

it has been quite some time since the last update on this mod (sadly life is a thing and some things still need priority over modding and what not). However, I have good news for everybody who still cares:

Base Defense will be continued and thus updated to 1.10 (and possibly 1.11 depending on its popularity).

The following features are (finally) on my roadmap for this release (titled v3.0 - The Revival Update):

    • Viewable Cameras
    • In good old Deus Ex fashion (which was ultimately the inspiration of this entire mod), I'll go out of my way to finally dive into the magic that is Minecraft's rendering engine (due to the recent changes this should finally be possible in a semi-sane fashion).
    • New Models
    • This has been requested far more often than it should've been. I'll see how nice I can get everything to look. Obviously, this is open to contributions if anybody feels particularly creative.
    • Proper Networking
    • Since BD1 was rather hacked together and BD2 relied on Applied Energistics (which has yet to be fully updated for 1.10), I'll design a full network solution which will be either directly integrated into this mod or later extracted for other's to use (we'll figure that out when it comes to that).
    • Hacking
    • Since the beginning of time, this mod has been quite overpowered since there is essentially no way to circumvent it when setting up correctly. However, I'd like to change this to some extend and enable players to temporarily disable security measures (especially on lower tier setups).
Most likely this will be done through the introduction of keypads as authentication systems within the low tier and some sort of minigame.
    • Nicer UI designs
    • Since we are already in a sci-fi environment with this mod, the UI clearly deserves a makeover to feel a little less like middle-age Minecraft. This also includes improvements regarding the user experience (especially when adding other players to the access lists).
    • Stationary Turrets
    • Since this new release will improve upon the general idea of tiers, we'll introduce stationary turrets as one of the easier tiers.
    • Alarms
    • This is more of an "I want this" type of thing since I'd love to have a few lights flashing left and right while some loud alarm noise makes communication impossible when somebody enters my base.
    • Shutters/Security Doors
    • This has been experimented with before but never really made it into the mod. However, I'd like to introduce security measures to lock in (or lockout) intruders when detected.

The above set of features is already quite a big bite but I feel like they're necessary for a full BD3 release (without feeling like another failed update).

This rewrite is planned to take place early on in 2017 (within January that is) and I expect to be live streaming either parts of the process or the entire thing (either on Twitch or YouTube). Other than the ICBM development (which was limited to 24 hours of modding), I'll skip the time restrictions (it takes as long as it happens to take).

This might be honestly quite a late update on this mod after such a long period of nothing, however, I recently realized how many people actually enjoyed playing this clearly broken mod (even though it didn't even get close to winning Modjam 4). Regardless, I hope that one or two of you can still get hyped over this upcoming release (I certainly will be).

TL;DR: New Update coming - New stuff can be found on Twitch, YouTube, GitHub and Twitter as we go - Expect test releases soon(ish)!

As of Java 8, a new UI framework called JavaFX is part of the stdlib. It provides you with FXML based UI specifications as well as CSS styling. A little bit of work and knowledge of how it works and you can create any type of UI. ;-)

    Version 1.1-SNAPSHOT.1 has been released

This is the first update since its initial release (and hopefully it's not the last).

You may directly replace or delete your previous copy of the program. No further action is required since no settings are currently stored by the program.

Note: This is another snapshot release and problems may occur when running it. Please make sure to report any issues you notice so we can fix them before the final release comes around.

    Release Highlights

    • Portrait Mode (for those with smaller Screens)
    • Improved Java Development Kit Detection
    • A Windows Installer (for the less tech savvy)

    • The Installer does not detect my Java Installation

    • This issue has been observed on some versions of Windows where the Java installation was not completed correctly. Try to uninstall all Java versions and reinstall either the JDK or JRE (depending on your preference). Keep in mind that you do not need different versions of Java in order to run older programs. Java 8 suffices!

In addition this issue may occur on some newer versions of Windows. This seems to be a platform specific issue and cannot be circumvented. Pelase use the direct downloads provided in the main post in order to retrieve an extracted copy of the program directly.

    Magical Features

Did you ever wish you could easily keep track of time on the Minecraft Server during your UHC match or while you get lost mining yourself into the depths of Moria? No? Me neither. But here's a solution for this totally made up problem anyways! Behold: MineClock (It's magic, believe me!)

    1. It is fancy - Clearly that's the most important aspect of a gadget
    2. It can read the World time straight from your Minecraft client
    3. It can also tell you what weather will greet you at the surface

    So what does it require?

    • Java 8 or 9
    • Minecraft 1.12.2 (some newer or slightly older versions may also work but they're currently untested)

    I found a bug! :(

*hugs* It's okay. Just report it according to this guide. It's an early version and thus prone to some smaller issues.

Which features do you plan to add in the future?

    • A method to disable the tool on the server side
    • Window Resizing
    • Effect Customization
    • Taskbar Icons
    • Notifications

    I have more questions though!

Just ask away! This is what forums are for, right?

So do you have a "release" date for v2.

    Edit : On mc forums^

I generally do not schedule updates as I cannot predict when I will have time to take care of the modification. Sometimes the development comes to a halt (like it is at the moment) and is revived when there is less things within my queue. Sorry.

    Quote from Mr_Killer01»

Best idea ever, update it a little bit more let's say.....more in the direction of 1.8 or forsee the future when 1.9 comes out. It's so needless to say it all of the time to mod developers, give or take a few months and we be there where you were... I have actually no clue whatsoever it takes to modify or update mods, i am not good at those new programming languages, so, sorry for my blind spot. Hope you do update for server support and 1.8.7 (latest version of MC)

Thanks Lord! May the Lord be with you! :)

The issue with 1.8 is that my dependencies have not been updated yet. Additionally Forge is currently stuck on 1.8.0 and probably won't receive any updates to the newer versions any time soon (at least I do recall word on some work being done on the decompiler to allow faster updates or something like that).

So for the time being development is stuck with 1.7.10 which seems to be the most popular version at the moment anyways.

posted a message on Base Defense Mod - Focus on building rather than protecting!

it's been quite a long time since the last BaseDefense release and a lot of things have been going on. Due to my occupation during the last few months this topic became quite dusty. However I'm happy to announce that the first development builds of BaseDefense 2 are rolling out as we speak!

As soon as the versions become playable (and stable enough to not entirely mess up your world) they'll be posted to my Patreon profile (coming soon) and shortly later they'll become available here! Here's a short list of features included with version 2 of BaseDefense:

    • Minecraft 1.7.10 Support
    • Reworked Security Network Functionality
      • Applied Energistics 2 Integration
      • Advanced network configuration (customizing alarm states)
      • DNA based authentication (supports mobs)

    • Reworked Models and Textures
    • New Game Elements
      • Stationary Turrets
      • Drones (flying cameras)
      • Server-Side Administration Commands

    • Reworked Progression
    • New Achievements
    • Fixed a stupid amount of bugs
    • Easter Eggs!

Note that I'll add the features added above as I progress with the codebase. There's a lot of stuff to add and re-implement for this release so don't expect everything to be there in the very first version!

A couple of screenshots of the new version can be found in my imgur album (periodically updated).

If you wish to keep an eye on the development process you still can as the modification is open source and available on GitHub. Contributions are obviously welcome (make sure they follow the code style used by me).
