I did not make my link clickable because if the spam filter would likely filter it. (it did for my linkless post)I was being sarcastic. To say you can't win in minecraft servers is an invalid point, seeing that there are clearly goals to the game and achieving those could be considered winning. Its not a predefined goal, but everyone's idea of winning is different, and by paying for advantages to reach those goals would be defined as paying to win. Then again, the issue is on advantages not winning.Dismissing someone's argument based on their stance isn't how you support your own arguments either. Nor does calling them "horrible" with no valid counterpoint.Quote from vindewFirst off make your links clickable please, second your stance on pay to win servers horrible.Pay to to pwn is a horrible way of thinking about it, one that has caused this mess to start with. You encourage p2w you have no say.
I know optifine has mod donator capes, so I could forsee servers making a compulsory mod to implement capes should mod capes be allowedQuote from Metamorphic_FishI think that was about selling capes, not sure about mods that allow you to see capes.

Also, you could argue that it should follow uri syntax, which would mean it should be correctly called 10.7.1, or 1/7/10
But then again they could call it anything. Its their product.

I'd rather they keep their attack speed and follow the player to maintain lock instead. Increasing their att speed just makes them more or less underwater skeletons
(No offence to any potion/enchant users) this is why I dont use potions/enchants/diamonds, they just take all the threat out of the game and make it a "walk here, whack this, now walk back" task, every obstacle reduced to "grind xp, enchant this, brew that", but I digress.
If they ever attack you back just use tnt on them, does not trigger the aggo. Afaik hard doesn't change pot fx

The rarest things in my list were TNT and enderpearls, i'm not too sure how that would take more time to obtain than 24 diamonds, and iron is everywhere anyway.
I did notice the thread, but if i'd posted in it it'll probably get locked for necro or sth

No, you don't need any diamonds, enchantments, or potions. Here's what I think needs to change based on my experience.
Required items: iron Armour+sword, bow, arrows, TNT, torches, flint and steel, enderpearls torches, food, optional blocks+ladders
First off, the difficulty progression is the inverse of what it is supposed to be. the hardest part was getting IN to the monument itself, which without enderpearls would be very hard thanks to the absence of a method to swim down faster, leaving you to be a sitting duck (used enderpearls to get to the entrance). I'm not too sure how great of an idea this would be, but I'll recommend creating a easier mob to patrol the outside that explodes on contact with the player (lesser guardian perhaps?)
Secondly, the guardians are more of an annoyance than a threat. they will never move to maintain their lock, and after their lock is lost (and thus thorns effect) do not seek cover. In fact, there were multiple instances where upon losing lock they swam INTO me, ready to get chopped up. My proposal is that they should recognize the player as a threat and path AWAY from the player once they are not attacking. (tip: mining fatigue does not seem to stop you from breaking TNT, so if you're being locked just place a few down to block their line of sight and collect them back later) Also, the thorns don't seem to affect you if you're using a bow. I'm not sure if this is intended.
The elder guardians seem to be more of a joke than any difficulty. Cramping a huge mob in a small room? I'll just swim up and set off a few blocks of TNT to kill it. Also, since its underwater there's no risk of breaking blocks/falling into a hole anyway. Although i'll give credit that the monument was hard to navigate and thus finding the elder guardians did take me quite some time, (tip: place torches/ladders/doors for free air) but I find it to be more of an annoyance than a challenge. Perhaps the elders should create a low growl or emit something like a cry when a guardian is killed for the players to hear where they are.
And I do hope the mining fatigue will reapply itself faster than milk will remove it, although I didn't test it out.
And yes, I DID search the forums using the terms "Ocean" Monument" "Guardian" and no such threads were found. should they exist, pls move this thread there.

If I reply as the posts come in, it would exceed my 10 post count limit.
If I reply to everything at once, it gets marked as spam for being too long.
Perfect.

3: yes, with a prooper mic
4: very, except ic2 farming ( i understand how it works but don't seem to get the hang if it )
5: from player, moderator ( far back ) twice, hosted a server avg 12 ppl on for 6 months till my laptop harddrive crashed
6: custom ranks based on items you have
7: yes, but not applying for builder
8:automating tasks ( HV solar array factory, recactors, getting IC2 and EE to work together etc ) and computer craft (the lua coding, mining turtles)
9: honestly, i've played enough tekkit that I feel that i would rather help others out than playing myself, and also I like to solve conflicts that players often have. But then, most servers get abandoned quickly due to the lack of the staff working together, so seeing the weekly meetings, I think this server might do much better.
10: I can, hopefully they are available in my timezone ( mine's GMT+8 )
