posted a message on Memory allocation isn't what I set it to

I'm running modded Minecraft via Twitch, a custom 1.12.2 mod profile. I've set the amount of memory to 6 GB using the Twitch profile editor (third attachment), and the JVM arguments in the actual Minecraft launcher match what I set in Twitch: "-Xmx6149m -Xms256m -XX:PermSize=256m". However, when I actually launch the game, it only shows a total of 5,467 MB of memory total, both on the Forge loading screen (first attachment) and in-game in the F3 debug menu (second attachment). See my screenshots below. Why won't Minecraft run with the actual memory settings I set it to?

(Yes, I know 6,149 MB isn't exactly 6 GB, but the slider is too touchy and just won't stop right on 6,144 MB.)

No, it's not necessary to use an Xbox Live account to play pocket edition. How does that even make sense when it's on multiple non-Microsoft platforms? I've had the app for awhile and never needed to log in before.

I have Minecraft PE on my iPhone 6+ that I never really played. I was bored at work and suffering withdrawal 😂from real PC Minecraft, so I gave it a whirl. Anyway, it constantly pops up an internet window asking me to sign in to Xbox Live. I select cancel, but the window pops up again 10 seconds later. It won't stop doing this endlessly. I don't want to link my Minecraft on my phone to Xbox Live. Anyone know how to make it stop? My Minecraft PE and iOS are fully up to date.

Sounds like you didn't reinstall your graphics driver after reinstalling Windows.

Is this still being worked on? I haven't seen any updates since 1.9 came out. Really hoping for a 1.10 update!

Maybe Im just overlooking it, but for the Vanilla installation where do you put the downloaded file?

You are missing it. The instructions have you use WinZip to copy files out of the downloaded archive into the original game files. Follow the instructions under "Minecraft 1.6.1 and up (new launcher)" through step 8. Step 8 will tell you to do only certain steps from the section "Minecraft 1.5.2 and below (old launcher)" then go back to the first section and continue after step 8.

Darn, this works in 1.9 only; it won't work in 1.9.1 and I've already saved my world in 1.9.1.

Will you be updating this when 1.9.1 is released?

The JAR file resets when I run the game. META-INF comes back, and the mod files/folders disappear.

Same problem here. Had this mod working before on 1.8.

IIRC, (I could be wrong, it's happened once or twice before.) every abandoned mine has a large room with a dirt floor with mine tunnels radiating from that. Amidst reports the x and z location of that.

The best way to verify that is to choose a seed using Amidst with a mine indicated close to spawn under a plains.(less to dig through)

Switch to peaceful mode to prevent unneeded distractions and give yourself a stack of torches.
Then fly to the x and z coordinates indicated by Amidst, then start breaking blocks straight below you and fly down the shaft made placing torches as needed.
I suggest that you DON'T do this without flying as it's possible to hit lava and you're pretty sure fall when you find the mine.

EDIT: As a matter of fact I just found this seed, "8864976236595596431" to test this.
Using PCMCV1.8.9 I spawned next to a plains village with a church, blacksmith, 2 libraries, and 6 fields near a nice sized ravine.
Amidst 4.0 indicates a mine at -40, 360 which turned out to be under water so I had to fill in the river at that point with dirt.
    I then started down.
I emerged in an 8 x 9 dirt floored square room with a domed ceiling 7 meters high at the top where I broke through. The floor is at y=24.
There are tunnels going off in all four directions. One with a spider spawner and another with a lava flow.

    Sweet, thanks!

Great to see this being updated again! Finally can find Ocean monuments, Igloos, mineshafts, and the new stronghold locations. I especially like the update player location feature; no more reloading the world to see where I am.

I would like to know how AMIDST determines the center of a mineshaft. What part of the mineshaft are the coordinates displayed in AMIDST?
