    Iwant to analyze some builds in a world to get a list of supplies it
    takes and I keep getting an error with MCEdit. The error code is copied

    posted a message on Frostwalker + TNT to clear water for witch or guardian farms?

    I need to clear out quite a bit of water before TNT'ing a perimeter for my witch farm. Normally the options would be sponge or just fill it in with sand/gravel. However both of those are very annoying and tedious. I'm wondering how practical it is using frostwalker to freeze the water then getting rid of that block either mining with haste 2 efficiency 5 or TNT.

    posted a message on Vanilla Survival World Day 6,550+ (Log/Showcase)

    I recently came back and I'm going to try to update this world as much as I can with the time I have. Since it's been so long just about everything is outdated so there is plenty to do now. Below I'm going to list what I think to be the best current designs for different types of farms. It would be great if people could post suggestions if they find better ones as well as ideas for other stuff to do in the world.

    Since returning I've been to the end cities gotten some Elytras and new blocks/items. I've gathered some magma blocks and some elusive packed ice which was easier to find by flying with the Elytra/rockets.

    I've decided that it's not practical for me to gather the materials and do the work of making a fully spawn proof perimeter down to bedrock in multiple areas for different farms so I'm probably going to be using this design for that. Obviously I wish I didn't have to use a bug/glitch but even with a good mob farm for the gun powder it's far too much work to gather the sand, craft the TNT and then manually blow up the 17/17 chunk area each time.

    I'm also struggling with deciding what to put in the main spawnchunks area. Obviously an updated Iron Farm would go there so it doesn't break but other than that I'm not sure. I don't want it to get too crowded but having more farms going simultaneously would be nice.

    Some of what I could do to update the world:

    Witch Farm Perimeter/New Witch Farm (Old broken an inefficient without perimeter.)

    New Zombie Pigman Gold/XP Farm (Old broken.)

    New Enderman Farm (Old broken due to pressure plates.)

    New Overworld Mob Farm (Old far too slow and inefficient due to relying on the mobs moving themselves.)

    Sugar Cane Farm (Current design is decent however far to small scale for current paper needs for villagers/books.)

    Iron Golem Farm (Current design already provides more iron than I'll ever need but builing a better one is always fun. As stated at one point I had the Iron Trench but I lost that save of this world. Regardless it wouldn't work in current versions anyway.)

    Wither Skeleton Farm (You can never have too many beacons and it's far too slow to manually kill the skeletons trying to get the skulls. This would require a nether perimeter.)

    Slime Farm (Slime blocks are very useful for current redstone designs as opposed to barely being used before so having more is necessary.)

    Guardian XP Farm (I already have a farm for getting plenty of the drops but they can also be used for a very fast XP farm.)

    A few days ago I finally managed to find one since I took a lengthy break. I flew 25000 blocks in a direction I've never been by using the Elytra with fireworks. Much easier than previously with ender pearls etc.

    posted a message on OptiFine HD (FPS Boost, Dynamic Lights, Shaders and much more)

    I'm having the same issue as the other user. When I click on the optifine .jar a CMD prompt opens for a second and closes without doing anything. No install menu. I've tried installing half a dozen different Java versions including SE, JRE, JDK and different Optifine versions and nothing works. I'm using the most up to date Java version

    Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.112-b15, mixed mode)

    I really miss using optifine to better handle texture packs.

    posted a message on Issues with installing Optifine in 1.11.2. (Tried many different Java versions).

    I've tried installing different versions of Optifine. I've tried half a dozen different Java versions (SE, JRE, JDK). All I managed to accomplish was going from a "class not registered error" to being able to open it for a second. When I try to open it with SE it shows a CMD prompt for a split second then does nothing. I know others have had this issue before but I'm not sure why I'm not able to fix it by reinstalling Java versions.

    I'm running Windows 10 and

    I've tried redownloading half a dozen different versions of Java SE JRE JDK and optifine. Java site says I have the latest version 8. Now when I open optifine with Java SE a CMD prompt pops up for a split second then nothing. It's not giving me a option to install.

    I managed to get amidst to work somehow from the Java mess.

    MCEdit still bugs out when analyzing.

    Why was this moved here? This isn't anything about a modded client. MCEdit and Amidst are external programs. Optifine hardly counts as a mod, almost everyone everywhere uses it because it simply helps with resource packs and lag. I specificially posted this in discussion because its multiple things and I want real responses.

    I just came back to playing last week after taking a break for over a year. I play almost completely on my vanilla survival world I've had since 1.3.2. However I still like to mess around on creative worlds etc from time to time. I'm having some issues getting some stuff that I used to use to work again.

    I'm running Win10 OS with a i3-4170/R9 380.

    I'm unable to get optifine to install itself in the launcher. I've tried downloading the .jar many times and clicking to open it did nothing. I tried changing what opens it and now I get "class not registered".

    Amidst does nothing when I try to run the .exe even when I use it as administrator.

    MCEdit keeps giving me the "unhandled exception" error even when doing something like analyzing a selected area of blocks.

    posted a message on A simple challenge just for the fun of it.

    I've had this goal for my main world as far as collecting all of the different items and have just about finished. However given the rarity of certain biomes for a lot of people this goal isn't very realistic without removing packed ice etc from it.

    I did this a long time ago and I'm glad I did because with the new system it would be more of a hassle. Now days I just make sure I have an efficiency 5 unbreaking 3 pickaxe and then since I go through them much slower I get efficiency 5 unbreaking 3 shovels and sharpness 5 unbreaking 3 swords. I would also like to mention that for most people a strong bow (power 4 or 5) is a great weapon that is much easier to get and allows you to save diamonds for those with less developed worlds.
