As the title says - is it possible to play together on PC Java edition and PS4? Just a server on LAN - we are in the same room.

I found a minecraft head that looked like a pizza, and used piston to push it into a block. But that made the head look dark, so it basicly looks like a burned pizza.
Is there anything to do about that, so it doesnt get dark?
