posted a message on Mo' Creatures - v12.0.0 for Minecraft 1.12.1!! Now Opensource!!

Using the 1.12.1 version and for some reason I can make turtle soup by putting nothing but a bowl in the crafting menu.

Seems like a simple bug so I'm reporting it.

posted a message on Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders [compatible with Minecraft 1.12.2 via OptiFine]

Can we please get a lite/standard version of the 10.2 preview?

It's the ONLY shader I've been able to find that supports day/night cycles longer than the world-tick-time.

    For example:

I set my day/night cycle to be 40 minutes of day and 20 minutes of night with the TooMuchTime mod.

With any other shader installed I get 10 minutes of bright lighting and 10 minutes of dark lighting and then 40 minutes of glitched twilight before the day starts over.

The 10.2 preview is the only shader yet to provide 40 minutes of day lighting and 20 minutes of night and no glitched twilight lighting.

The only issue I'm having is that it is rather resource heavy at ultra level, so I'd love to see a lower version available for higher fps.

posted a message on Book Stand/Bookshelf for Book&Quill

I think this idea deserves merit. It would make displaying information a lot easier.

You might want to contact the creators of the Book Stand in the Mystcraft mod.

They already have a bookstand that works for mystcraft books, where you can read the book by right clicking, or access the single-slot inventory by sneaking and right clicking so you can take the book back without destroying the stand.

    Book Stand

Seems like it would be a relatively small change to make it function for vanilla books as well :3

*edit - Since I first wrote this, I've posted this as a suggestion on the mystcraft forums, so we'll see how that goes :3

posted a message on Large Sign 2.0 : Current has 5 materials.Bigger block and font size.Display item icon not need to consume items.

    Hi!

I love this mod. It's really handy.

Can I report a glitch though?

It appears that the GUI was only tested up to 1080p.

On resolutions higher than 1080p, GUI elements start wandering (the sign display goes completely off the bottom of the screen at 4k)

I realise this would be difficult to test without access to a 4k monitor, but I would love to see a new version that addresses this issue.

I also had an issue where any non-block block (large signs or bibliocraft items etc) would glow brightly and become half transparent at certain angles.

That one was jarring enough to have to remove it, however I believe that may be an incompatibility with one/several of my other mods.

Keep up the good work though! This is a cool mod and you deserve for it to flourish :3

Birds spawn to their specific biome, yes.

ok, then I might keep them in my game then. It will make them super rare, but at least they'll still be around occasionally :3

It is unfortunate, but the download links for slimevoid library and little blocks mod for 1.7.10 are broken.

Doesn't seem to stop the ads from being run every time you try though... :/

posted a message on Exotic Birds - Herons, Owls, Pelicans and MORE!

I have Biomes O' Plenty installed and I'm not seeing any of these birds in the wild.

I can spawn them just fine with the eggs though.

Are the birds only supposed to spawn within certain biomes?

posted a message on MrCrayfish's Construction Mod v1.1 - A.O.E. Inspired Construction! Huge Update Beta Release!

I thoroughly enjoyed this mod in 1.6.4 and was hoping to grab it for my new game.

It made template building so much easier.

Can't wait to see this one updated to 1.7.10 and 1.8.x

*Edit - Seems you already did. I misread the bit about old building packs not working in the new version.

    posted a message on [1.2.5] Checkpoints! [v1.32]

Regular minimap mods feel like cheating too much since there's no challenge to gathering the requirements for it.

I love the idea of adding markers to the vanilla maps.

It would especially be useful if it shows on the map when placed in a item frame as well.

Is there any chance this will be updated to 1.7.10 and 1.8?

Dying to install this, but no-one appears to have updated it in a while :/

posted a message on Looking for an australian Direwolf20 host
    Hi!

I'm looking for an australian minecraft server for the Direwolf20 modpack that is hosted inside australia, preferrably perth for minimal ping, but anywhere inside australia would be fine.

I'm currently a student, so I'd be looking around the $20/month mark and I wouldn't need very many slots at all. Perhaps 5-10 slots as it's mostly just for me and a few friends.

I would also need to set up a whitelist so only people I have approved can play on the server.

An official minecraft hoster would be great, but I'm also open to VPS hosting if I can find a good deal.

Alright, thanks for reading my post.
I look forward to a response.

Hello, how to make this work with Minecraft 1.6.2 ? Or if not, will ther be an update ?

Currently you can get it working with 1.6.2 by replacing the old minecraft.jar launcher file with the new minecraft.jar launcher file. It won't however do a 1.6.2 instance and an old launcher instance in the same program.

You can however just make another portable minecraft folder and use that for your new 1.6.2 installs as long as you put the new launcher jar in the right folder instead of the old one.

I have 1.6.2 running just fine on this version and earlier versions work just fine as well. You just can't run both on the same copy of portable minecraft manager since they require different launcher files.

*Edit* Due to school and other private projects I am not currently working on upgrades for this program as it works ok how it is now. I may update it down the track a bit, but that could be a while away.

I am not able to test currently, as I am away from a computer that can run Minecraft, so I'll ask here :D

Lloyd, a while back you and I messaged, so you may remember me!

Does this still work with the new 1.6.1 launcher, just by dropping the .minecraft folder in the place you wish to have it? Or, is that function not available/still in development?

    Thanks,
    Icyl

I'm currently studying a diploma in programming, so side projects are sort of on hiatus at the moment. I would imagine if you replaced the minecraft.jar which launches minecraft using the old launcher with the minecraft.jar that launches minecraft using the new launcher, it should generate its own file structure that you could take a look at?
I'm not currently working on this, but now that I know someone is actually trying to use it I may try and code up a new version in the near future. I have been kind of wanting to make a new version for myself since minecraft changed launchers anyway.

In short, I have been considering a bunch of minecraft related projects (Lets Play Tutorial/Mod Spotlight videos, texture/resourcepacks, mods, launcher etc) and I've just moved into a house with a stable internet connection so It's likely that I will make a new one, but not 100%. It depends on how quickly the workload builds up on my course.

posted a message on Tinkers Construct
Hi, I'm playing the Direwolf20 pack for 1.5 currently.

How come turtles and fruit pickers can't harvest tinker's construct oreberries or natura berries?
Is there anything else that will gather berries besides manually right clicking them?

Looks like harvesters work fine though if you set the right options.

Actually that's pretty close to how the trees look around here in the fall. Some are so vivid in color they seem to glow. The only one that I think is bright is the orange, but there are trees around here that look very similar to this, which is what I think we have come close to. The previous Autumn Forest was very muted in color and didn't reflect the true colors of fall.

I've always used Optifine and never had this problem, although I have yet to add it to my 1.6.2 world as we had been busy testing the new update. I see that you are using the previous version of EBXL. Have you tried it with the new version? I'm curious if the problem still exists. Also, have you tried it with the vanilla textures and does it do the same thing?

I will leave Shecky a message and ask him to check this in the morning when he is up and has time.

Just finished getting the basics of my modpack up and running again.
Still discoloring stone with the sphax texturepack according to ExtraBiomesXL biome boundaries as below:

    Screens

With Smooth Biomes enabled in Optifine:

With Smooth Biomes disabled in optifine:

An example of how it should look.
I removed the color map (Sphax PureBDcraft 64x MC16.zip\assets\minecraft\mcpatcher\colormap\stone.png) in order to get this result:

    Installed:
    • Minecraft 1.6.2
    • Forge 1.6.2 - 804
    • Optifine 1.6.2 HD Ultra B4
    • ExtrabiomesXL 1.6.2 - 3.14.0
    • Resourcepack - Sphax PureBDcraft (16x, 32x, 64x & 128x) MC16
And just to be clear, I have no other mods currently installed to get this result.

I think the color map is supposed to discolor the stone textures slightly across different biomes.
The issue is that the ExtrabiomesXL mod doesn't seem to be designed to utilize the color map and the rock becomes extremely discolored instead.

*EDIT* Might not be all of the ExtraBiomesXL Biomes. Have identified Savanna and Redwood Forest as causing this issue. Unsure of which others may be doing it as well.

It only happens with the latest sphax resource packs for 1.6.2
I can use other resource packs that don't have that stone color map or use the default textures and the discoloration is gone.
I can also delete the stone color map from the sphax resource packs to make them work normally too.
The only time I notice this issue is in ExtraBiomesXL Biomes.

I'm currently in the process of upgrading everything and trying again to see if the problem has already been fixed.
My modpack has to be rebuilt because I didn't make a backup before I started picking it apart to find the culprit... :/
