I know what you are talking about. Maybe you need to take a week off from lifting. Rest days are necessary. They will allow your muscles, nerves, bones, and connective tissue time to rebuild after being broken down due to your efforts at the gym. Moreover, I noticed that I don't lose enthusiasm when taking breaks.
Yah, i can support that, especially when you're starting, during the first 2-3 month depending on what you've done before it's perfectly fine if u aim for 1-2 workout days per week. Then increase intensity with time and how often you go.
But always take enough time to recover - if you feel sore - wait another day and get enough sleep (8-9h per day).
If you'll become more advanced you can workout more often per week (by also splitting muscle groups to different training days)
Also eating enough/right will be important to see progress
