Feb 5, 2014Posted in: MCPE: Texture Pack Help & RequestsQuote from godraadam
C'mon texture guys! Can't you make like 10 item textures?
Ok, with that right there, I'm not doing it. This isn't something I have to do, and as he explained earlier, we do have personal lives to attend to. Not only that, but texture making is not something that can be done quickly in a short span of time. It requires a lot of thought and effort on the part of the texture maker. We are not your slaves, we chose to help you, so be patient.
Feb 3, 2014I'm really not sure what to think of these textures...They definitely need a lot of work, and they lack a central style. In addition, they will need a lot more work to actually make them look like the blocks they represent. As they are now, it appears to be solid colors either arranged randomly or in a general pattern that somewhat resembles what the block originally looked like, and some blocks are simply recolors of the original textures.I'm not trying to hate, I'm just giving constructive criticism.Posted in: MCPE: WIP Texture Packs

Progress: 100%? - As of now, it appears everything she has done has been ported. Alert me of any bugs, cause I'm still figuring out the 0.8.0 texture stuff.

The pack isn't 100% but, its about 80%-ish, I'm not sure what to texture some of it but its getting there! Inputs welcomed!

Feb,22: Will get to it eventually, it's a resource pack so it's usable but it doesn't have anything from recent updates yet.
The pack is 16 bit so no actual patching is required to enjoy!(I would still suggest patching anyway with MCpatcher if you haven't since you never know when you need it, Or use optifine too!)
1.4.7 and 1.5.X CTM support(You will need MCpatcher or Optifine for CTM support, the glass is also HD because I'm lazy so if you use MCpatcher patch for HD also, see change log if you wonder why its SEMI support)
Parts of the Pack:Terrain and items are outdated just a little but still show general looks.

Oct 6, 2013Posted in: Minecraft ModsI had been wrestling with the decision for a while now, and unfortunately I have decided to stop working on Thaumcraft and other mods.The simple truth is that between IRL commitments, work and studies I simply didn't have enough time to devote to modding. Something had to give and unfortunately the obvious choice was modding.
"Thaumaturgy... which giveth certain order to make strange works, of the sense to be perceived and of men greatly to be wondered at." - Mathematicall Praeface to Euclid's Elements (1570), John Dee
Thaumaturgy is the capability of a magician to work miracles. A practitioner of thaumaturgy is a thaumaturge, thaumaturgist or miracle worker.
This is what this mod is all about - drawing magic from physical objects in the form of Essentia and reshaping it to perform miracles.
Simply find some vis crystals in the world, mine them and follow the clues.
The first thing you will need to craft is a wand. The first one available to you is the Iron Capped Wooden Wand crafted as shown here (using a stick and iron nuggets):
You then place a bookshelf in the world and right click on it with the wand. This gives you the Thaumonomicon which explains almost everything else you will need to know about Thaumcraft.
Suggestions are welcomed here

WARNINGThere is a very tiny chance that updates may break your save. Backup just in case.
Change LogCurrently the Eldritch & Aurmancy tier of research are still heavily WIP. There is some things I need to sort out and balance before I can implement them properly.
- fix altar particle related crash on servers
- API: deprecated IStabilizable
- API: added IGogglesDisplay
- API: added oredict support in json research entries for required_item and required_craft.
- fix for crash related to the latest versions of forge (220.127.116.1168)
- infusion instability mechanics have been completely reworked. Check your thaumonomicon. TLDR version, stabilizers simply add a lot of stability to infusion now, but when paired with redstone inlay can do other fancy things. They no longer use RF.
- added advanced break seal
- golem press will now properly consume crafting components
- more fixes to seal & logistics GUI's
- custom thaumcraft shaders should once again work
- buffer will no longer draw essentia from adjacent blocks if that side has been disconnected
- added Lamplighter infusion enchantment
- I now prevent most thaumcraft UI elements from overlapping
- when riding a minecart the arcane bore will not switch off if there are no tracks below (for whatever reason)
- tainted animals & critters will now do damage instead of just aggressive nudging
- changed the way itemstacks sync to clients which should get rid of a lot of odd behaviour in certain gui's
- greatwood trees now require 4 saplings to grow like large vanilla trees. They drop more saplings to account for this change.
- thaumatorium should now display all recipes (occasionally a recipe would be lost, like the spiritus vis crystal recipe)
- thaumatorium recipes are now sorted alphabetically
- cultist armor now have their own material types
- made many thaumcraft blocks rotateble with modded wrenches that allow it
- entity aspects can now be viewed through the thaumometer
- empty & provider seal should no longer cause golems to drop items on ground when picking up something new
- water jar can now fill vanilla cauldrons & glass bottles again
- fixed several focal manipulator ui issues
- golem press now checks adjacent inventories for crafting materials as well
- golem appearance should now sync more consistently on servers
- provide and empty seals will no longer cause items to drop on the ground if the target inventory (as set by stock, fill, etc) is full
- stock seals will now check if the target inventory has room before creating a task
- greatly improved flying golem movement
- improved golem responsiveness
- fixed banner server crash
- fixed crafting recipe for primal crusher
- added console command to revoke specific research from a player instead of resetting it all. Format: /thaumcraft research revoke . This will also remove any research that relies on the revoked research.
- tweaked infusion crafting instability so that instability added is on a sliding scale - the higher the instability, the less chance it has of becoming worse.
- the amount by which infusion crafting stability increases after instability occurs has been increased.
- added aspect names to display name of vis crystals and essentia phials
- fix soft-crash when you tried to craft a multiblock by clicking on the top or bottom face of a block with salis mundus
- fixed a major bug that was causing you to only gain progress in the 'blue' theorycraft categories instead of all of them. Rounding is awesome!
- fixed void siphon crash on dedicated servers
- fixed stabilizer particles... again
- rebelanced some crafting recipes
- cloudstepper ring should now properly negate fall damage when double jumping and will not do silly things when you are underwater
- items with sounding effect will now only trigger it if sneak + right clicked instead of the other way around
- primal crusher recipe now accepts broken tools as ingredients
- rebalanced flux condenser essentia cost
- API: fixed the AspectRegistryEvent to use a proxy object (register) that contains the actual registration methods. This was done to prevent some ASM related issues.
- fix for thaumotorium not syncing in MP
- fire bats once again cause mob damage
- FORGE: Updated to Forge version 18.104.22.16805
- API: Certain mods that define their own item aspects have been accidentally doing so in the 'wrong' place. To prevent this I will now wipe all item aspects registration that occurs before TC defines the core item aspects.
- API: Additionally I have added an event mods can subscribe to that would be the correct place to define item aspects. The existing aspect definition methods will be deprecated and eventually will only be accessible through this event.
- API: Added events when a player gains knowledge or progresses research. See thaumcraft.api.research.ResearchEvent. The events can be cancelled.
- improved thaumatorium GUI
- harvesting golems will now try and right-click a crop first before trying to break it
- increased the knowledge gained from curios
- rebalanced some base item aspects and added a couple of alternate sources for hard to get aspects
- thaumium smelter is now 90% efficient instead of 85%
- improved arcane bore interaction with infusion enchantments like destructive
- fixed enchantment detection during research
- fixed triple meat treat recipe
- improved foci radial menu animation and unlinked it from fps
- fixed certain foci in radial menu not showing up if they are too similar to other foci
- you can now only have one scatter modifier per focus
- prevent crash with focus pouch if you click on it while it's inventory is open
- arcane workbench should properly choose the correct crystals to use between similar recipes
- to make early game mistakes a bit more forgiving the crucible will only turn 25% of spilled essentia into flux instead of the current 50%-75%
- added a 'noSleep' config option so you can get the salis mundus recipe book without having to sleep first
- fixed eldritch crab rendering when 'mounted'
- fixed the mod interaction bug with the hats mod
- fix out of bounds condenser crash
- increased condenser essentia suction
- flux generators now produce up to 20 rf/tick. The vis cost is still the same (1 vis = 1000 rf).
- flux stabiliser can now accept power from all sides except the front. This means 5 flux generators will be able to fully power a stabiliser as it can accept up to 100 rf/tick max.
- candles and other items are now slightly more effective during infusion and you can have up to 12 (up from 10) - a much more symmetrical number
- improved detection of enchanted books in research and recipes
- arcane ear now supports new instrument types
- scanning inventories with a thaumometer is now limited to the first 100 items to prevent lag spikes with massive inventories
- thaumcraft leaves will no longer decay if placed by a player
- entities ridden by a player can now pass through warding barriers
- fixed warded jar contents display in inventory
- warded jars crafted into void jars now retain their contents, labels, etc.
- arcane workbench now actually checks if you have the proper research
- added first bits of eldritch tier research. Much more to come
- everful urns now act as water tanks that contain up to 1 bucket volume of water and can interact with piping systems.
- switched liquid death and purifying fluid to use the forge universal bucket. Existing buckets will no longer be valid
- fix for stabilizer server crash
- allow traveller boots and cloud ring falling damage reduction to stack with other falling reduction items and each other
- improved thaumometer performance
- fix for pedestals incorrectly allowing more than one item to be placed in them via automation
- fix datamanager declarations for some thaumcraft entities that was causing mod interaction issues
- vis crystal growth, shrinking, and spread no longer causes flux as a side-effect. Flux crystals now properly grow and shrink based on flux instead of vis.
- improved recipe recursion checking to better account for container items
- flux rifts once again close when they spawn taint seeds, but the larger they are, the more potent the spawned seed is
- added a way to manage flux & flux rifts. This is still WIP and will be expanded and balanced in future updates
- fix for clientside particle crash
- fix for aura chunk related crash & cascading worldgen
- arcane workbench should now be able to craft vanilla recipes without the presence of crystals
- fix for chunk loading errors on server start
- fix for seeking projectiles causing client crash
- possible fix for pedestal desync issues during infusion
- fixed moon phase descriptions
- alembic can once again be emptied on shift-right click with an empty hand
- creative flux sponge can now also remove flux rifts
- fixed armor dyes
- fixed arcane bore dupe bug and made its digger radius a bit more accurate when stationary
- vis batteries will now drop when harvested
- pattern crafter now removes the proper amount of items
- fixed possible dupe bug with certain mods combined with arcane bore, seals and breaker focus
- new stuff: vis batteries, vis generator, stabilizer, stock seal
- fixed arcane pattern crafter
- relaxed nbt checking in crucible recipes, infusion recipes and research hand ins to account for other mods that add custom nbt tags
- fixed mod compatibility load order
- fixed an edge case bug where custom recipes from other mods could cause strange results in the arcane workbench
- tweaked amber block/brick recipes
- fixed seal filters to allow non-standard stack sizes. You might want to check all your seal filters to make sure they behave as they should
- API: seal filters now store stack sizes independently of the itemstacks themselves. New methods added to get and set those numbers.
- increased experimentation inspiration cost to 2, but also increased the amount of progress it gives
- fixed custom gui toggle buttons
- seeking focus projectiles are now 56% more seeky
- bouncing focus projectiles can now only bounce off solid blocks
- revamped infusion crafting stability mechanics
- infusion recipes now properly recognize damaged items and will transfer the damage to crafting results where appropriate
- toned down taint poison spawned by certain things
- loads of balance tweaks
FAQQ: What is this Baubles thing that I need? A: It is a required sub-mod that adds extra inventory slots to the player.
Q: How do I access the Baubles inventory? A: The default hotkey for baubles is 'b'. If your not running any inventory altering mods or spend a lot of time in creative it might be a good idea to swop your normal and bauble inventory bindings so you always open the baubles inventory by default.
(1) Install Forge (Modloader is NOT required - my mod uses the Forge modloader)
(2) Download this mod and place the jar into your Mods Directory.
(3) Config File Settings For the most parts it should be self explanatory with one exception: Adding TC 5 worldgen to existing worlds. See below for that.
Adding thaumcraft world gen to existing worldsYes, you heard that right. You can add all the ores, trees and other worldgen features to existing worlds by changing a few things in your config files. Remember: this could be risky so always backup your saves beforehand.
- If this is the first time loading Thaumcraft with that save, you can leave the regen_key setting as 'DEFAULT' otherwise set it to anything else.
- You need to choose what to regenerate. I strongly recommend you set aura_nodes to 'true' if this is the first time you are doing this. Without the aura you won't be able to do 99.9% of the things you could in Thaumcraft.
- Run the game. It will lag for a while and you should see some console spam about chunks being regenerated. This is fine - just wait it out. It shouldn't take too long. If the world had been explored a lot you might see the message reappear every now and again. This is also normal.
- If, for some reason, you wish to do this again or somehow your savefile got corrupted and your aura nodes have gone missing, all you need to do is set the regen_key value to something else. Any word would do.
Addon ModsThese are mods that use the API or other means to intergrate with or add content to Thaumcraft. More importantly they do so without breaking the balance of my mod (such as it is).
A friendly request to addon makers: I love all the addons that have been made recently, but I have a few requests. - Don't go too crazy when adding new aspects. If you do, drop me a PM. If it is something obvious or useful beyond your addon I might add it to vanilla TC. - Try not to add more than one research tab - Please try and keep your own researches on your own tab - Please don't move my researches around. You can make copies if you wish to show dependendies on your tab, but the research should remain in its original location. - Please don't alter any of my recipes. If you feel it is needed for the balance of your addon please drop me a PM. Partly to discuss if the change is required, but mostly since it might actually be a change that should be in vanilla TC.
Lastly, I've noticed some addons adding items from TC 3 or earlier. I don't have a problem with that, so go wild. However several of those items I have been planning to re-add myself. A lot of TC 2 stuff never made it into TC 3 simply due to time constraints. So don't come crying to me if and when I do that. Note - I obviously won't just copy-paste someones elses code for those items or blocks - I will implement my own versions.
If you want access to beta version of my mod to make version update go a bit smoother, send me a PM with your dropbox user info and a link to your mod (so I can check if you are actually an addon dev )

Mod Pack PolicyThe code of “Thaumcraft for Minecraft” in source or binary form is the intellectual property of Azanor. See below for copyright, terms and conditions.
As a habit I ignore every PM in regards to mod-packs - both private and public. Everything you need to know about them is listed here.
You want Thaumcraft in your mod pack? All you need to meet are five simple conditions: 1. Your mod pack needs a link back to this forum post. 2. You cannot make any money off of the mod pack. 3. You cannot claim that you made any part of the mod, and you must give credit to the author of the mod (Azanor). 4. If I ever ask you to remove my mod from your pack, for whatever reason, you do so. 5. Handle any queries and bug reports internally first. This is one of the main reasons I had such a strict anti-modpack policy for such a long time - people using modpacks would come here posting errors that have nothing to do with my mod or that have been fixed ages ago, but still occurs in the modpack because it is using an older version.
If these five conditions are met, then you have my permission to use it in a mod pack.

Pictured: maid on strike!
★★★★★★★★★★★★★★ Colors ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
After forming a contract with your maid, you are able to change her hair color and some other features by right-clicking her with dye. Maids are available in all sixteen minecraft colors!
By placing certain items in the first slot of the maid's inventory and giving her sugar, different modes will trigger:
When maids have nothing better to do, you can give her sugar without having any of the special items in the fist slot and it will set wait mode. The maid will stay in the same spot and it will not move
Every newly contracted maid will be in this mode. Escorts will follow you around and pick up any items it detects.
Just place any sword in the first slot of the maid's inventory and give her some sugar. Fencers will attack any HOSTILE entity near you. Damage taken by the maid is restored by giving her sugar in her inventory. Illustration by: Culter（クルター）
Place a bow on the maid's inventory first slot and activate archer mode by giving her sugar. Archer's aim is comparable to that of skeletons in the game. Archers will attack Hostile mobs. Arrows will be consumed when shooting so remember to stock your archer with arrows in her inventory.
Axe on first slot. Bloodsuckers will attack any entity deemed neutral (sheep, pig, chicken, cow) or hostile (mobs) To change which entities are neutral/hostile just right-click your little maid with a book (will be consumed on use) and a GUI will pop up to let you change the settings.
Shears on first slot, the maid will shear wool of nearby sheep.Also, maids in ripper mode will stop nearby creepers from detonating,!
Give your maid some TNT and right click her with some sugar to place her in Demo mode. Maids in demolisher mode will act as a creeper and explode when they are hit. The intensity of the explosion depends on how much TNT she has.
Only available at night or in dark areas. By placing torches on the first slot and activating her, the maid will go into torcher mode and place torches around you, providing some light.
Maids can cook! By placing coal/charcoal on the maid's first slot and giving her sugar, you will be activating cooking mode. In cooking mode, the maid will cook any raw meats, potatoes, or ore placed in her inventory. She will stay by the furnace until everything gets cooked or smelted.
By placing splash potions or cooked food on the maid's first slot and giving her sugar, Healer mode will be activated. In healer mode, the maid will follow you and heal you/ feed you when your health/hunger is low.
Give your maids some water bottles and some alchemy materials (spider eye, nether warts, etc.) and they will make potions for you! Remember to click her with sugar to activate the mode.
Right click your maid with a feather to place her in freedom mode. Your maid will keep the previous mode, but it will also include freedom. Maids in freedom roam freely in a small area without despawning or teleporting to you. Also, maids in freedom mode in snowy biomes will throw snowballs at each other!
You can place a redstone torch on the ground and right click your freedom maid with some redstone dust and it will make her stand post on the block the redstone torch is placed in. Good for placing guards near entrances!
Placing a clock in the maid inventory allows her announce the time inside the game.It is necessary to add certain voices and configure the .cfg files to work this function.Some new parameters are added for voice. *Only available if you downloaded and installed the soundpack.
If you want to "force" your maid to follow you somewhere, simply right click her with some string and walk wherever you want, your maid will follow!

Dec 31, 2010nohero posted a message on [1.7.10] nohero's mods: More Health Enchanted: Beta for Health Loss Issue 1/2/2016Posted in: Minecraft Modsnohero's Mods
~~~More Health Enchanted~~~(MC V1.7.10)What is this mod?
More Health is a complete overhaul of the health system. You can gain more health (hearts) with heart containers crafted from 4 heart pieces (found in most chests and dropped by bosses!!) and/or gain health through levels (exp). You can completely customize your starting hearts (set it at 3 for Zelda nostalgia!) and max hearts (caps at 30 hearts!). In addition, you can customize the level ramp, which included the levels you earn hearts at. Finally, you can choose to turn the heart items mode and RPG mode on or off.+HARDCORE MODE! On death, lose all your heart progress and reset to starting health!+some mods may have heart container patches (i remember tales of kingdom)+Blacksmith chest, mineshaft shaft chest, and Stronghold chests have Heart items!+Jungle/Desert Temple Chests have Heart Item loot! .::DOWNLOADS::.More Health Enchanted V6.3 1.7.10Download for BOTH client and server!Required: Forge APIMade for Forge 1.7.10-10.13.3.1389-other versions may work.Installer is the best way to use Forge on MC 1.6+
- Install Forge API Installer
- Right click on the installer.jar, and go to open with-> java. Click on Install Client and choose where to download it to. This creates a .jar to use with the new minecraft launcher.
- Open the Minecraft launcher and either edit a profile or make a new one. The important part is to change the "Use version:" option to the forge .jar. This is named something like release version-Forge version
- Example: release 1.6.2- Forge 22.214.171.1244
SMP Installation:Be sure to install forge!
- On to my mod specific installation
- Drop the zipped file into the mods folder. (%appdata%\.minecraft\mods)
- Run Minecraft, enjoy!
- Any questions/suggestions, post in the thread!
1. Get the minecraft_server jar from http://minecraft.net/download. Create a new folder and put this jar into it. This will be your server folder.
2. Drag the zipped file into the "mods" folder found where you set up your server.
3. (optional step) Config folder (in server only folder): you can open this folder to find the config file, which you can change as you wish. It will determine all the settings for the entire server. Everyone will be playing on the same rules (aka no cheating) enforced by the server config. The individual player's config gets overridden when on the server.
4. (optional step) Drag the config folder into your newly created folder (the server folder). Thus, when the server starts, it right away has the changed options (most importantly the multiplier config - it only affects newly generated areas, so if you start the server without dragging the config file, the starting generated area will probably have limited heart containers/items which is not good for server!)
5. Start the server, enjoy
6. And questions/suggestions/feedback, please post on the forum, search for nohero more health!
Config File:How to:
1. Start up minecraft with this mod.
2.Shut down Minecraft.
3.Open %appdata%/.minecraft/config/nohero_moreHealth.cfg with a program like notepad. (Note you have to run minecraft once after installing mod for this file to pop up).
3 (server) if on server, the config (if you didn't drag it) will auto generate in the server jar's folder.
4.Do not edit the lines starting with #! they are just comments!
You have two things you can configure yourself, anyway you want!
LevelRamp=1,3,5,6,7,8... (Set the levels you want to gain hearts on! below)
StartingHearts=20 (change the starting hearts, from 1 to 20), default 10.
5. Start Minecraft, enjoy! These config settings will affect ALL your worlds.
THANKS:Forge Help: senpaisubaraki mDiyo Thanks for helping me move out of base class edits! You both were helpful and gave me useful instructions/advice to help me use Forge tools like events/playertrackers.
SMP Beta Testing Special Thanks: DarkenMoon97 The Templars For being awesome and helping me test SMP. I found and fixed many bugs (some critical!) because of them. Thanks!
THANK YOU ALL! For using and enjoying the mod! Without you guys I wouldn't have as much motivation to keep updating the mod!Compatible with Advanced HUD and Rei's minimapIf you want to install those two mods with mine, add them to the mods folder! Set the width of health bar in Advanced HUD >60. 1 width= 1 health = 1/2 heart.Credit: MCforfreeuserMORE More Health Enhanced Information:
New HUD Options
1) Disable More Health's custom HUD in case you are using another mod that has it's own heart HUD.Look in the config file for the option "custom HUD" and disable it! (Set it to false). Be sure to run minecraft at least once with the update so the new options generate.
2) Minimal HUD added: When you have more hearts that the 10, the number next to the hearts will increase, signifying you are on the next "row" of hearts. 1= first row, hearts 1-10. 2= second row, hearts 11-20. 3= third row, hearts 21-30.
Screenshot:I have 14 hearts in total. The "2" signifies I am on the second row.
This solved my issue of being compatible with any texture pack AND allowing the necessary info using just one line. This is the "minimal hud" option in the config file. (After installing, boot up minecraft so the config file will update!). Default this option is off.Old mod image:Old DownloadsMore Health Enchanted V6.2 MC 1.6.10 Universal Download
Frequently Asked Questions/Requested Features/Demanded Explanations (Read this!)
Boots/Headband/some other item isn't doing anything!---
Install the latest version of Forge.
You should make [some other mod's thing] work with [your stuff]!
There's options in the config files to add item IDs for these things, as best as I can make them work. Beyond this, there's not much I can do - I am not going to go out of my way to specifically engineer compatibility with a mod that I do not myself use, when I could be making more of my own stuff.
What's with [X]? I don't remember that from any Zelda games...
This is not a Legend of Zelda mod. This is a mod inspired by many things, including Zelda, but it's not meant as a faithful implementation or recreation of anything in particular. It's a collection of things I felt like making, some of which are inspired by something from a game, some of which were just things I came up with.
Can I include your mod in my modpack, or post it on my website?
No, except under specific circumstances:
If you host a private server with fewer than 20 members, you may distribute my mod to your players only, as part of a modpack, through private communications such as email, Skype, or a password-protected file sharing system.
If you maintain a major modpack such as Feed The Beast, you may contact me and we can negotiate.
Otherwise, you may only share this mod by linking to this forum post - any other distribution, in whole or in part, is expressly forbidden. The code, images, and sounds in this mod are original work (or derived from Mojang's content for the purposes of functional and aesthetic compatibility, where applicable) and are protected by copyright.
Hearts and Shards
Slain enemies and the new Mystic Shrubs have a chance to drop hearts, which instantly heal you a small amount when collected, and emerald shards, which can be assembled into emeralds if you collect a lot of them - a total of 64 shards makes 1 emerald. To assemble emerald shards, hold a stack of at least 8 of them and right-click to make an emerald piece, and do the same with emerald pieces to make emeralds. If you need to make change, you can craft an emerald into 8 pieces, and a piece into 8 shards, using the crafting grid.
These fascinating teal plants grow in clusters scattered across the landscape. They can be chopped down to get a chance of hearts, shards, and arrows, and will slowly regrow on their own. During a thunderstorm, they become energized, dropping more valuable things, and with a chance of very special prizes - but they will discharge with a lightning strike if you or a mob steps on them, so be careful! Mystic shrubs cannot be transplanted with shears, but the very rare Mystic Seed will allow you to grow a new cluster of them.
Bombs and Bomb Flowers
Bombs are a new throwable item, with a maximum stack size of 16. Bombs explode 4 seconds after being thrown, dealing a moderate amount of explosive damage and very high knockback in an area of effect, without damaging blocks. Bombs cannot be crafted, but can be gotten from energized mystic shrubs, or from a creeper that dies to an explosion. They can also be harvested from Bomb Flowers, which grow near lava, if you have a Bomb Bag. Bomb Flowers can be transplanted by shears if fully grown, and will grow on smooth stone or netherrack next to a pool of lava (similar to sugarcane’s growth requirements).
Quiver and Bomb Bag
These handy new tools will enable you to more readily carry arrows and bombs, as well as seeing your supply of them at a glance. The quiver can hold up to 200 arrows, and the bomb bag can hold up to 50 bombs. Both can be emptied and filled by use of the crafting grid - craft a quiver on its own to take arrows out of it, or craft it with arrows to fill it; the same applies for the bomb bag and bombs. (For convenience, the quiver can also be filled by right-clicking with it in your hand.) Right clicking with the bomb bag will throw a bomb, and left-clicking on an armed bomb with it will disarm the bomb, enabling harvesting of bomb flowers.
This valuable item is handy for returning to the surface after exploring a mineshaft or cave - when used, after a moderate charge time it will teleport you to the most recent place that you were under open sky while having the mirror in your inventory.
This versatile throwing weapon can deal damage to multiple enemies, break tall grass and similar blocks, and retrieve dropped items for you. It will magically home in on you on its return path, though if you somehow manage to avoid it for several seconds it will drop onto the ground ready to be picked up. It deals a bit less damage than a diamond sword, and has 750 durability - each block broken or mob hit consumes one use.
A valuable but pricey consumable item - if you would get killed with a phoenix feather in your inventory, it will automatically use itself to revive you at half health, giving you a few seconds of invulnerability in the process. The phoenix feather has a maximum stack size of 1.
Medallions are magical items that store up a particular type of energy. In this version, there are four types - Fire, Wind, Earth, and Ender. When a medallion is first crafted, it’s uncharged, requiring you to take 50 total points (25 hearts) of damage of a particular type with it in your inventory in order to charge it. The fire medallion requires fire or lava damage, the wind medallion requires damage from arrows, and the earth medallion requires falling damage. The Ender Medallion is charged by staring at endermen. When fully charged, a medallion can be thrown, shattering it for a powerful area-of-effect attack, or it can be crafted into various items.
Each of these three medallions can be crafted into a protective amulet, which can counter 50 points of damage while actively used (holding right-click) before breaking. The Pyro Amulet converts fire damage into healing, the Geo Amulet converts falling damage into a powerful shockwave, and the Aero Amulet reflects incoming arrows back at the shooter.
The Earth Medallion can also be crafted into a Titan Band, which lets you pick up, carry, and throw other living creatures. Any damage to you or the creature you’re carrying will cause you to drop it.
Augmented Swords Updated!
Combine a sword with a charged medallion in the crafting grid to augment the sword with an additional offensive ability. Charge the sword by holding block, and unleash the attack by releasing block and swinging the sword when it's fully charged. Using the special attack consumes a percentage of the sword's durability, based on the material's enchantability rating; a gold sword will last for 100 activations, while an iron sword will last for 56 and a diamond sword will only last for 40. Choose your weapon wisely!
Augment: Earth Medallion
Creates a shockwave in the ground around you.
Augment: Fire Medallion
Launches a fireball directly ahead, igniting what it hits.
Augment: Wind Medallion
Launches a whirlwind ahead of you that carries creatures and objects with it.
Augment: Ender Medallion
Teleports you to a targeted living creature. You can block within the next 2.5 seconds to return to your starting position.
Sugar Cubes and Rock Candy
Sugar cubes are not recommended for use as a construction material, as rain has a tendency to melt them. Rock candy (with real rock flavoring) will give you a 15-second sugar rush, boosting your movement speed, as well as providing an additional effect depending on the flavor.
Milk Chocolate New!
This tasty treat will cure status effects like a bucket of milk will, but is somewhat more portable. And delicious.
Good old smashable jars! They will slurp up the first item drop they come in contact with, and drop it again when smashed. You get lots per crafting, because I don't want to deprive anyone of the joy of smashing pottery.
Nasty pointy things! They can be placed on any level surface, and when stepped on they are destroyed, inflicting 1 heart of damage and severely hindering movement for 5 seconds. Watch out, because they blend in rather well with stone surfaces, easily injuring the unwary.
Sword Pedestal Updated!
A proper place to store the most legendary of swords! Or any random sword, whatever floats your boat. Right-click an empty pedestal with a sword to place it proudly on display; right-click the pedestal with an empty hand to draw the sword.
When it contains a sword, the pedestal strongly powers the block below it with a redstone signal. Great for traps, noteblock fanfares, etc.
New: If a sword pedestal is powering a Skybeam Block two blocks below it, it will very slowly repair a sword placed in it, as long as no players are nearby. This works even when the chunk is not loaded.
BOING! This is the Hook Shot! It extends and contracts and... BOING! It can grapple many things!
(Any wooden block, to be specific.)
Star Pieces, Starstone, and Stardust
When exploring at night, a star might fall from the sky! If you get to it before it evaporates, you'll be rewarded with a Star Piece and a handful of XP. If you arrive too late, you might still find a single Stardust where it landed. These new materials can make a variety of new items. Nine star pieces can be crafted into a Starstone, which can be placed into the world as an alarmingly shiny block, crafted into a Skybeam Block, or saved for additional future uses...
This mysterious powder, made from a Stardust and either kind of mushroom, can have a variety of strange effects on creatures and blocks. Experiment!
This block, when powered, will send a scintillating beam of colorful light into the sky. Goes great with sword pedestals!
These mysterious devices enable you to travel by riding on beams of light! Align a series of them spaced no more than six blocks apart, then board by jumping onto a torch while holding the sneak key. Torches won't connect around sharp corners (and prefer to connect in as straight a line as possible), so plan your curves carefully. Build and maintain speed by holding the sneak key on downhill slopes and releasing it on uphill ones. If you jump, or run out of speed, you'll dismount the beam.
Chained Blocks, Locks, and Keys
These items, accessible in creative mode, are intended for adventure map makers. When a player right-clicks a locked block with the appropriate key, the key will be used up and all connected chained or locked blocks will vanish.
Focus: Can be applied to swords. Makes augment abilities charge faster - 1.5x for Focus I, and 2x for Focus II.
Soul Tether: Can be applied to swords, or to any enchantable item by using a book and anvil. When you die, any items enchanted with Soul Tether will return to you when you respawn.
Headband of Valor and Whirlwind Boots New!
Some new items for those who favor speed and finesse over heavy armor. When wearing a Headband of Valor, your melee attacks will deal significantly more damage, but only when you have no armor bonus. The Whirlwind Boots greatly boost your sprint speed - and with a level start, you can even run across the surface of liquids!
If they're not working, you need the latest Forge. Check the FAQ.
Reed Pipes Newish!
A musical instrument, played by right-clicking. The note is determined by the vertical angle you're looking at. Sneaking enables five additional notes, giving you access to a full minor scale.
-If you are carrying a chicken with the Titan Band, you can use it to glide gently downward.
-If you have a quiver and a bomb bag, both non-empty, you can crouch while shooting to fire a bomb arrow! They don't go as far, but they explode on impact!
-Shift-clicking on a quiver or bomb bag in the output slot while filling it from the crafting grid can, under some circumstances, cause loss of ammo. (There shouldn't be a reason to shift-click it, since it's unstackable.)
-Boomerangs don't remove themselves from your inventory properly in creative mode, leading to excessive quantities of boomerangs.
Jun 17, 2013dlcoates1 posted a message on MCPE vs SC: Which is right for me? [Information thread] (No wars/debates)Posted in: MCPE: Discussion=====Contents======Intro==Gameplay Differences==Graphics Differences==Quality Differences==Main Gameplay Features==HUD/UI Differences==Priceing==Ratings==Demo Differences==Video Comparisons==Conclusion==TL;DR==Signature==FacePalm==Update=
Ok guys, there has been a lot of debate between MC:PE and Survivalcraft.I am creating this thread to hopefully stop the wars going on between the 2 games/apps.Now, everyone has their own opinions, so I want this to remain friendly and on topic.I don't want to hear anything like "Well MCPE is better" or "No Survivalcraft is the best and MCPE will never catch up".Again, everyone has their own opinions, so be respectful of everyone else.Gameplay DifferencesIf you prefer to dominate your land, and work with limited resources, then MCPE is for you.MCPE is more like the Classic version of minecraft with 256x256 sized world, however it does maintain most of the current MC blocks and items from the current version of minecraft for PC.When I say dominate your land, I mean creating a safe, mob free environment so you can safely wonder around.Minecraft Pocket Edtion, much like Minecraft PC and 360, is a fantasy type game. It contains mobs such as zombies, skeletons, giant spiders, and zombie pigmen, as well as the famous explosive creeper pal.Minecraft is often considered a midevil version of lego's because it is a world made of blocks, and most of the time you see buildings such as castles, dungeons, etc.You may also see some futuristic builds every now and then, but for the most part it is midevil builds.If you like to explore vast and endless worlds, swim with sharks, scale down caves, and like "Redstone", then you may enjoy Survivalcraft.Survival craft is much more like the PC version of Minecraft, with the endless worlds, texture pack support, and not to mention it has a great amount of depth to the overall gameplay.It has a crafting system similar to the PC version of minecraft where as MCPE uses the MATIS system which just contains a pick and choose menu.Survival craft contains blocks and items that you would normally see in some mods in minecraft such as LED's, electronic gates (XOR, AND, etc.), saltpeter, malachite, limestone, granite, basalt, etc.It has a more advanced crafting system where you must do some extra steps to make your items (This is what I mean by depth).Example in MCPE to make TNT you need 4 sand, and 5 gunpowder, gunpowder is premade and obtained by killing creepers. In Survivalcraft, to obtain TNT, you need to get coal, sulfer, and saltpeter. Combine 1 of each item to create gunpowder. 1 gunpowder + 2 wood planks will give you a small TNT barrel which is enough for a 3x3x3 area. 2 gunpowder + 4 wood planks gives you a medium TNT barrel which covers a 5x5x5 area, and 3 gunpowder + 6 wood planks gives you a large TNT barrel which covers about a 7x7x7 area. You must also use 1 sulfer + 1 wood stick to make a match to light the barrel. There is also the choice of using an electric detonation charge to instantly detonate the barrel.Survivalcraft has more of a realistic feel to it. The sun/moon/stars/clouds look great, and the default textures are not all that bad. While MCPE does beat the default textures in that aspect, you can always download and install new texture packs from in game with survivalcraft in the get content menu.
Minecraft Pocket Edition doesn't use much graphics memory and is therefore compatible with lower end devices. The overall graphics are not as energy consuming either, so minecraft pocket edition also beats survivalcraft in that aspect.With survivalcraft, there is several caves, the option to use HD graphics (MCPE has this option as well), and is more CPU intensive. While it plays fine on the iphone 4 and up, the ipad 1,2, and mini, and the ipod touch 4th gen+, it is not recommended for lower end devices. Because of many of the features such as caves, sun/moon/stars/realistic clouds, it can be slow at times, or on slower devices, can even freeze.While both games offer HD texture packs such as photorealism, only Survivalcraft has full support for the texture pack system, where as MCPE requires file editing.
Now, this is where the biggest debate kicks in with both games/apps.A lot of people tend to say MCPE has the best quality, while others say Survivalcraft is better.After months of gameplay on both games, comparison of all features, etc. and even talking with kaalus via wordpress PM system, I have come to the decision that both games are equal as far as quality. Both games have great aspects, and terrible downsides.One thing to remember is that both games are coded differently, and for MCPE, it is an even bigger coding difference from the PC version.A lot of people say that all mojang has to do is port the game, but this can't be farther from the truth. PC version of MC is coded in java, while the MCPE version is mainly C++ with a little Objective-C.MCPE does update rather slow, but you need to realize that they also have the 360 version, and the PC version to work on, and PC version is their main priority.Survivalcraft is mainly Objective-C with a bit of C++. Survivalcraft tends to go more towards the realistic look with player and animal modles, while MCPE retains the classic block shape.The PC version of MC has a huge team, and the PE version of MC has about 7 people.With survivalcraft, it is just the 1 guy, and the updates come out about the same speed as MCPE if not just a little faster.So overall, the quality of both games is the same, there is no difference in quality, just a difference in opinion.Main Gameplay FeaturesWith MCPE the main features are the same as PC version, with the exception of redstone, enchanting, potions, the end, the nether, and a couple other minor details. While it does have a nether replacement, it is not the true nether. MCPE also contains multiplayer, although as of this post, it is not fully up and functioning, and is currently limited.Survivalcrafts main features is the infinite worlds, caves, electronics systems, and in depth gameplay (video comparisons will be posted at the bottom of the post).Survivalcraft will have multiplayer eventually, but it is currently not the main priority on Kaalus's to do list.
The hud is probably one of the biggest things I see brought up all the time.People always say that in survivalcraft the hud gets in the way, or the controls are weired, etc.If you play Survivalcraft with the controls set to:Move control mode: PadLook Control Mode: EntireScreenFlip Vertical Axis: OffAuto Jump: OnThen the controls are the exact same as minecraft pocket edition. The only difference is the fact that you are using a pad rather than directional. If your having problems with the controls, use the settings that I stated above and you will have absolutely no problems.Another tip is to go into user interface and set the UI size to smallest. If you don't like the pads getting in your way for the controls, you can hide them through this menu as well.People also say MCPE has a better hud. While this can be arguable, the huds are no different from each other, except for the fact that Survivalcraft has a couple extra buttons. Now on a smaller screen it can tend to be a problem depending on what your doing, however from my point of view, as well as the people I have talked with, it is no problem at all a majority of the time.Another difference is with the Hotbar. When selecting items from your inventory in MCPE, the last item you selected will be the first item on your hotbar. Also, there is no way to organize your inventory unless you have access to a chest. With Survivalcraft, you can drag and drop items to your hotbar, and they will remain where you put them. You can also drag and drop your inventory to organize it, without having to access a chest.PricingThe current price for MCPE is $6.99, but if you love the PC version, you will get your moneys worth. It is a highly enjoyable game, with overall great quality. Again, while they updates may be slow, the wait is worth it.The current price for survivalcraft is $2.99, but you will not regret buying it. As stated above with MCPE, the same goes for survivalcraft.My recommendation however, is if you can afford both, then buy both. They are equally amazing games, and both are very afordable. If you have $10 to spend, then go with my recommendation.
MCPE is currently the #3 app in the app store for ios. I can't speak for android since I do not own one.It is currently rated 4 1/2 out of 5 stars. Again, the rating matches the overall great experience with the game.Survivalcraft is currently the #17 app in the app store for ios, once again, I can't speak for android. Unlike MCPE, survivalcraft is also available for window's phones, but I can't speak for them either since like android, I don't own one.The current raiting in for it is 4 stars out of 5, however, it recieves negative views from MCPE fans who claim it to be a clone and give it 1 star raitings and poor reviews. If you disregaurd these posts, survivalcraft actually stacks up the a 5 out of 5 star app/game. Again, it matches with the gameplay, overall quality, but mainly the depth of the game.
For MCPE, the demo is currently still on 0.2.X and has limited gameplay for survival, creative, and multiplayer.In survivalcraft, the demo is fully playable, is up to date, and is not limited at all. It does however have a time limit, but it gives you a long enough amount of time to get the overall feel of the game and the general experience of it.In both cases, you can not save worlds in the demo version.
Here you can see some videos about the differences in gameplay, the depth, etc.Farming:
MCPE: We already know what terrain generation is like on MCPE, so no need for a video there.
Water Mechanics and Details:
MCPE: This is something that MCPE doesn't have, or claims that cannot be done according to mojang.
More comparisons can be seen on their channels:
ConclusionBoth games are great in their own ways, and both games have their downsides.Whether it be price, depth of the gameplay, items, experience, features, etc. they are completely different games.They are both coded differently, by 2 different companies.One thing you must remember, is that any "Clone" of MCPE is either taken off of the app store, or the company is sued. Survivalcraft doesn't fall under the clone catagory because of the fact that it has a different feel, gameplay experience, etc to it.Now there is a lot of people that call Survivalcraft a clone of MCPE or MC in general. Now while MC is technically considered an original, it was not the first of it's type. Before MC, there was Roblox, before Roblox there was Lego's. Lego's practically invented the "Block" toy/game age.Another thing is, a lot of people who call Survivalcraft is a clone of MC, don't really know the truth behind MC.MC was an idea that originated off of a game called Infiniminer. Infiniminer originally got its idea from roblox and added the "mining" system to it. And again, roblox started off as an idea for a digital lego game.All in all, Survivalcraft is an idea, that originated from an idea, that originated from aother idea, that originated from an original idea, that originated from a real life toy.Confused? Let me shorten it for you.Survivalcraft isn't a clone, but it is an addition to the "Voxel Video Game" genre.
For those that think this post is too long and boring and didn't care to read, here is a simple list of pro's/con's of each game.MC was an idea developed by Notch after he saw Infiniminer, so therefore MC can be considered a clone of infiniminer.SC is NOT a clone of MC, it is a game created from the idea of minecraft.SC and MC are both games in the genre of Voxel Based Video Games.
Remember:Keep it civilKeep it respectfulKeep it cleanKeep it on topicDo not start warsThere will be no "Clone talk"There will be no "This one is better" debates.This post is for people to compare the 2 and decide for themselves which is right for them, and to be more informative for people who wish to compare the 2.I now send this thread out in hopes that it ends the debate and the wars between the 2 games.
Also, if you guys want to help stop the wars and debates about MCPE and SC, add this to your signiture!
Due to the fact that the facepalm quote was overly large, and can possibly be seen as an argument starter/flame post, I have decided to remove it to prevent problems from arising, and to save space on this main post.
