Yup, it definitely isn't new, watch some cubehamster videos if you want to see recent stuff, even if it possible since redstone torches exist (you can use them in place of repeaters).

[Edit] Also isn't this just some trolling ? You sure didn't come up with this without seeing that it worked only at max redstone lenght.

It's not a new concept, but it's new because it didn't work before. I know that cubehamster used something similar to this in one of his designs, but the device could only send one signal at a time. Now any number of signals can be sent simultaneously.

It's always been in there though, it's not really being used much is because of the very limited uses that this would be good for.

Not quite. The idea has been around for a long time, but it was impossible to do until now because the repeaters would glitch.

I'm going to have to try this, would make lots of stuff easier if this is actually implemented.

*EDIT* This only works for lines that are going to be 15 blocks from the source, and only works due to having to shift over a line (either left or right) from the junction will add one more block, making the redstone too long to travel to the repeater. Just managed to do the same thing as the screenshot above on a 1.4.6 server.

That's what I meant :) . The idea is that this can be used for compact bussing for large redstone computers. It's somewhat impractical for most other contraptions, however.

With all these new additions of redstone contraptions, I don't think I've seen a single person talking about the new compact capabilities of redstone dust in the week 13 snapshot!

As you can see in the photo above, it is now possible to place redstone wire adjacent to other wires without potential interference. Although this idea has been mentioned in the past, it was considered impossible because block updates among the repeaters caused them to glitch. I suspect this secret feature is due to Mojang's work in squashing the BUD glitch.

This discovery will surely be quite useful as an efficient and compact form of bussing for large redstone contraptions and computers.

EDIT: A very good point I forgot to add was that this will only work if the redstone dust extends 15 blocks. I'll test out trying to use the new comparators to be able to shorten the power decay.

Ok, a little bump here with some news. I have recently got an understanding of bump mapping, and I'm going to apply it to this pack, with it fitting the style. The first thing I have to show is the pumpkin. With this feature, the directional perspective error is gone, and it looks 3D from all angles. Check it out!

Ignore the other textures, I did the pumpkin as an experiment in another pack I'm working on that simply adds bump mapping support to the defaults.

    Looks amazing :D

People filling their posts up with BBcode. My God that's disgusting... It's real heavy over in RP where OPs fill their opening post with nonsense formatting, writing everything in excessive sized, terrible fonts, and a million colors in the rainbow. It's about as bad as Comic Sans by itself.

Haha you summarized that perfectly! Ah the days when I used to think Comic Sans was a good font...

    In short, no one's perfect.

In long terms, you can't expect everyone to be that much an omniscient being. Sometimes they miss one of the codes and not realizing that they just leave the thread with that broken code until someone pointed it out, or when they accidentally misspell something and they didn't realize that as well. There are times when grammar and spellings are still tolerable, but up until a point where it starts to get unreadable. Other than that, I don't complain about them that much.

I wasn't suggesting anyone had to be perfect in spelling/grammar. The point I was trying to get across is that forum posts are an expression of one's opinion, so why, if one has had a complete eduction (which many people on these forums have not seeing as many of them are still quite young), would anyone hinder the strength of their opinion with silly mistakes? I would never call anyone out if they make a few spelling errors, but if the post is illegible when the author is fully capable of knowing better, I think that's somewhat inexcusable.

That's embarrassing. I knew the first thing people would do after I posted this was correct my spelling/grammar :), but I felt as though I still had to post it because I don't think I've run into a single good forum post in the past month.

You may add to this list of you'd like, but be sure to include a reasoning behind it with a coherent argument.

    1) Spelling and grammar:
I understand that the internet is not a place for people to pay attention to minute details in spelling and grammar, but when it comes to topic posts, TAKE THE TIME TO PROOFREAD! Your post should represent you and what you stand for, so why would you make yourself seem like a 3-year-old spullzing lice thiz (spelling like this)? Be professional when you share your thoughts. I can't tell you how many times I've seen people post incomprehensible gibberish on these forums simply because they don't give a crap about how they spell. Proofreading and proper English on an English forum reflects well. Laziness does not.

I hope this quote I made after the fact can clear up some confusion about my opinion on the matter of spelling and grammar:
I wasn't suggesting anyone had to be perfect in spelling/grammar. The point I was trying to get across is that forum posts are an expression of one's opinion, so why, if one has had a complete eduction (which many people on these forums have not seeing as many of them are still quite young), would anyone hinder the strength of their opinion with silly mistakes? I would never call anyone out if they make a few spelling errors, but if the post is illegible when the author is fully capable of knowing better, I think that's somewhat inexcusable.

    2) Posting downloadable content without providing pictures.
As the famous phrase goes: "no pics, no clicks!" It simply does not make sense why anyone would advertise a texturepack or mod (s)he made without providing an example of the product in action. It makes the downloader more assured that the link will not give him/her a virus and increases people's aptness to download it in general, making the texturepack/mod more popular.

    3) Improper formatting
I'm sure you've all seen it before. You find a post you think might be interesting. You click on the link. The page loads, but the post is indecipherable because some of the text is on the right side of the screen while some of it is on the left. You see random, broken BBCode tags strewn about like a bomb went off on the internet, and for some reason, every other line is in size 48 font. If you are writing a relatively long post with lots of formatting, please do the world a favor and click "Preview Post" before you commit.

I may add more as I think of them. What do you guys think? Do you agree with these "issues," or do you think they are irrational?

I personally didn't like AC3 as much as the previous one. I had many issues with it, especially on the levels when you play as Desmond Miles. Nevertheless, your parents decide what you can and can't do in the world of videogames. You can try making an argument against their decision, but I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you and there's nothing we can tell you that can change their minds. She's probably worried after hearing about the tragedy in Connecticut.

Parents have a right to worry and a right to restrict what their children can play (at least until their children turn 18).

posted a message on Best Anti Lag Mod?
I'm not quite sure if you know what lag is. Lag refers to poor communication between a server and it's client. Lag is commonly due to a high ping: the amount of the time it takes for packets of information to transfer between the server and client. The only way a client can decrease lag is by upgrading their internet connection. No mod can improve this.

If you talking about a low FPS (frames per second), this occurs when a computer's specifications and hardware do not meet the requirements of a videogame. There are a few mods that can help improve the efficiency of Minecraft's game engine to decrease strain on the computer. The most popular mod is called Optifine.
