    @WerewolfGirl2013, making stallions bigger is definitely something I can do. Thanks for the suggestion ^^. As for sneaking mares, Stallions will be able to claim herds that don't already have stallions, but they will always fight other stallions first otherwise

    As for the horses being unable to climb one block... no idea what happened to the code between 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 (I'm assuming you're using 1.5.2), but I've got it working again.
    I haven't had particular issues getting horses through gates (though I haven't tried with doors). They may get caught for a second or two but readjust to get past. Still, I'll look into it :)
    I believe the sinking-into-a-block is just a clipping issue, but one I thought I fixed. This happens when going up a block, right?

    @LeiteniantGlistner, Assuming you're using the right version, does exist. If you check the OP you will find that the train hook is simply a mode of the lasso; it has no itemID and can't be found via NEI because it's not a separate item from the lasso. How to acquire it is also in the OP :)

    @PsychoPriestess, harnessing horses has changed in the latest releases. Consult the OP on how to use the lasso and train hook to do what you want to do ^^

    @Calderonus_Amara, I'd love to see the arena [if you'd like (and can create a banner or something) I'd be happy to link it in the OP :D]. I'm surprised jumping isn't working for you: both breeds should be able to clear at least two-block-high blockades. Is it lagging?

    @Volsomme, did you download Simply Horses from here? Have you modified the texture folders in the zip? Best I can tell you is to redownload it and use the new copy.

    New bugfix release will be out in a few days tops. I'm working on the farm equipment, and Senyazza's working on prettiful new textures ^^.

    @Weez1990, whoops, I commented out the coat-transfer code at the last minute. Silly me. Wild Horses are supposed to keep their coats upon being broken, and so it shall be in the next update. However, this is not the case for changing a mustang into any other breed, as the textures aren't the same. Arabians do have plenty of textures (40-odd, I believe), as do Clydesdales.
    As for the Stallion issue, it could be that the other horse was a foal that grew up into a stallion somehow. Might have been an NBT issue but that should be pretty rare :). Thanks for the reports!
    Breeding wild horses won't be implemented as they will easily maintain themselves if you don't outright exterminate a herd and it has a stallion :). It's called wildlife management!

    @TearlessRain, besides the issue above, yes, the textures should be working again in 1.5.2 :). Hope your other mods update soon!

    @amanda, shift-click to mount/dismount anything. With vehicles it can be a bit tricky as you have to aim at their bodies, but you shouldn't be stuck on anything =(

    @Myracle, haha, that's also been bugging me! I've kind of made it a habit to use F5 to steer vehicles now. I will probably redo the vehicle models at some point, but it won't be particularly soon as there some more pressing matters to get to. Thanks for the suggestion though; it's definitely going to happen at some point before the official release :).

    @Misteriawolfe, glad the texture issues haven't dampened your opinion of SH! Random mobs seems to be on the fritz. These latest two versions of SH does its own random-coat allocation so you don't need Random Mobs, nor should you move the textures around. Are you using the latest version?

    @Katarumi, thanks for the bug reports! Now, let's see...
    Firstly, are you standing over uneven ground? As in, is one or both horses hovering over an empty block while the whippletree is halfway on a higher block? I've been trying to corner this issue and my fixes just. Aren't. Working! Rest assured I haven't given up yet |D.
    Secondly, vehicles and whippletrees sink in deep water, dragging any horses down with them. You should destroy the whippletree (or, in this case, swingletree) to save the horse! At least you'd have to, I'll probably have them break automatically from now on.
    Thirdly, I'm still working on the water behavior while riding :D.

    @TheFallenBreed, yup, I'm not ditching my horses for the vanilla ones. It'd be kind of counter-productive at this point \o/.

    @Weez1990, eh? Besides MC version there's no difference between the latest releases. I did increase the mustang's (and horses' in general) gallop speeds. Hm...

    @danny624, Thanks for the report. =) I see that problem and its been fixed. If you're getting that crash when you load the world, close minecraft and open the Simply Horses config file (should be in .minecraft/config I believe) and set respawn_lassos to false. That should clear out the lasso responsible when you load the world next time. After you do so, you can set respawn_lassos back to true if you want.

    @lola6492, thought the train/harnessing system will be changed slightly in the next version, I suggest watching doomplug's awesome review. Towards the end he shows you how to correctly build trains :).

    @LittleBlueBird, nice place! What installation problems are you having? Also, no, Complexly Horses and Simply Hay are not being worked on yet. CH won't be happening until SH is finished, same with Simply Hay.

    @Kane_hart @mauler78, as I said in my last post, those configs are for the grass items, not the block itself. A config for the block will be in the next version.

    @Weez_1991, Simply Hay will add hay (or expand on blanilla hay) and other hay products for use in Simply Horses and... other mods >> <<... Also, the speeds will be updated in the next version.

I'll also look atthe stallion behavior. Herds no longer flee however. I've disabled that to work on it later.

    @Sonnyskys, thanks for the bug report. I think I've fixed the Clydesdale's heads (whoops). That cart bug (I believe they were warping inside the cart or something?) should also be fixed in the next update. As for being locked into AD controls, that's because using a bow and arrow activates Free Look mode while riding. You can go back to using the mouse to steer (or toggling Free Look) by hitting F.

    @StasisCan, click behind you at the main body of the cart :D.

    Progress Update!

    Unless the file naming conventions were changed (and I don't see anything about that), there's really nothing I can do on my side for Random Mobs if it still isn't working with later optifine versions. Last has been said about it that sp614x is working on something dealing with it.

    So no need to report the texture problem anymore :D . I will try a temporary fix.

    (that being said, posts reporting the texture problem aren't going to replied to below. I'd just be being redundant at the point =P. Thanks for posting the bugs!).

    As for the 1.6 vanilla horses, I have no plans to stop developing Simply Horses, nor do I plan to abandon Complexly Horses or Simply Hay. I also won't be integrating the vanilla horses into either mod. As for Simply TerraFirma Horses, that is being shelved as I believe will be working with the TerraFirmaCraft team on horses directly :3.
    This has been a Public Service Announcement

    I'm working on bug fixes for the next version. After that, I will be adding the farm tools (reaper and sower) and possibly the next aesthetic update- new model and new shiny textures and a new texture system to go with it! Some of you huge horse fanatics will be quite pleased :) . After that update (or maybe included in it, depending on how long any of it takes), I will be finishing the horses: a GUI, sounds, and possibly armor. I will also be giving the spawner lasso a GUI for spawning customization and removing it from automatically being craftable in survival. As I've always said, it was always meant to be a creative-only tool.

    Then I think we're done! I don't think any of this will be as complex as nailing down the train system, so I'm hoping it doesn't take as long. Geez...

    On the subject of hitching things and using the lasso
    I'm going to change up how the lasso is used and how trains are constructed. I don't want to have you guys using two different tools that serve generally the same function, but the lasso will have two different modes (and icons) to better interact with the entities you use it on. The current system is overcomplicated because the lasso needs to perform different functions on the same entities with very little difference in how it 'knows' what to do, so the lasso will have a mode for lassoing horses and other animals, and a second for harnessing horses and creating trains. As for actually creating trains, I'll be recoding a bit of the system so that whippletrees and swingletrees are always added to the front of the train.

    @supman1911, that seems to be an issue with Forge's installation, not Simply Horses (that crashlog isn't mentioning a problem with SH as far as I can see). Try reinstalling Forge

    @Tshingler3, the texture change didn't affect mob and entity textures ^^;;

As for overwriting?.. eh. Simply Horses and Mo' Creatures horses got along fine together; I don't think I'm going to touch the 1.6 horses beyond possibly making a way for you guys to turn them into my horses :) .

    @doomplug, aww, thanks! I'll add it to the OP- it's very informative- and it shows how to hitch the horses xD. About the spawner-lasso recipe... you know?... that's a good idea. As a said above, the spawner lasso is a creative tool that was made craftable in survival for bugtesting (as well as replacing horses lost due to glitches), but giving it that recipe (and durability) is definitely another way to go about it.     Sooo I'm not sure if Random Mobs is working in the current release of Optifine. In any case, I don't think there's much I can do about it from my end.

    @Arpeggio, your English is fine ^^. Anyhoo, I totally forgot to check the hitching issue with the cart. I've written it down to do so now :D. Same for the misplaced lasso ropes. Thanks for mentioning ^^

    @Babyshorna, I just double-checked the randomobs issue, and you're right; the textures aren't coming up for some reason- tell your stepdad to not stress over fixing it =P. I'll have to look into it. As for the lasso issue, I've tested that and am not getting similar results. I'll look into it some more in a bit. As for no hearts... do you have particle effects turned on? Thanks for the bug reporting!

    @MM16201, you think. It's good to know people follow the rumor mill so assuredly :D. Even if horses are coming in 1.6, that has no bearing on this mod.

    @Silver_Wing, Thanks for the suggestions. =P Though, besides the 'horses standing on it' part, those were already planned, among other features. As for the gallop speed, I'm going look back into it.

    That's why you have the option of turning it off in the config ;3. The new biome is there to ensure a horse herd spawn per map, as horses can be crowded out of the plains biome by other blanilla animals.

    @Hague, besides TFC, I'm not really focusing on other mods at the moment. However, it seems that if you use Mob Spawn Controls mod, you should be able to get horses to spawn outside of vanilla biomes.

    @Zxapa, Complexly Horses will be started on sometime after Simply Horses is finished. I can't give you a more exact ETA on it. It will be a more detailed approach to horses in Minecraft.

    @Minecrak, responding to all legitimate comments is kind of a tradition in here :D. It's not so much a time sink as it is a break from Simply Horses while still doing something constructive for it. ^^

    @Indiri, I forgot how to install mods with the Magic Launcher, but if you're trying to put the SH zip directly into the jar, that is not the way to go. I believe it should be considered an external mod. If you don't want to use the Magic Launcher, SH.zip should be put into the .minecraft/mods folder that Forge creates. Also, are you using the correct version of minecraft and optifine? Simply Horses is a 1.4.7 mod, so you'll need 1.4.7 Minecraft, 1.4.7 Forge, and 1.4.7 Optifine (optional), else things will explode.

    @craigtrombly, Uh, you're definitely trying to run a 1.4.7 MC mod on 1.5.1 Minecraft with 1.5.1 Forge, dude. Toootally different, incompatible versions there.

    How have I not replied in almost two months?? Oh yeah, I forgot.. I made a PSA and was blatantly ignored immediately afterward, so I decided to take a break from dealing with responses for a while. Huh.

    Modpacks: As it is far from finished and pretty glitchy still, SH is not allowed in modpacks currently. Thank you for your interest: the mod will definitely be available for use in modpacks once it's finished ^^.

    Texture Makers: Stop making textures for now (unless you really want to) ^^;;. A new texture system is planned for the near future which will not be compatible with current SH textures (possible new model ahoy), and I'd rather you guys not waste your time any further =P, but I really appreciate your contribution to making the mod prettier!

    Progress Update!
    It's been a while, eh? A lot's been going on these past couple months, and I've been pretty busy (equal parts work and play... about) along with just needing a break from coding. Fear not, I've been back on it.

    I've not started updating to 1.5 yet, but the next release will be for 1.5. Currently, I'm still taking care of bugs you guys have been reporting. Notably, horse spawning has been redone again. There is a new biome, the prairie, dedicated to horses (and cows), so you should be able to find them more easily. You can also remove the vanilla Plains biome itself to increase the chances of finding Prairies. it shall all be in the config. Plains will still have a chance of spawning horses, though it will be less common than in Prairies.

    But Avii, why a new biome?! Is it even different?

    Well, it's flat and the grass is two blocks tall. It's a tall-grass prairie. I don't think that's been done before...

    What are we supposed to do with supertall grass?

    Well... you can chop it down.. and plant the seeds somewhere else. or act like there are raptors running around in it.

    .... That's it?

    Yup. Okay, enough conversations with myself. In anycase, the tall grass will eventually be used to get hay, because Simply Hay is going to be a separate mod at some point (if, packaged with Simply Horses). More on that later.

    New biomes aside, there really isn't much new content, just a bunch of bugfixes along with the 1.5 update. I'm hoping the next release won't take long, but I'm not going to throw out an ETA. Just bear with me!

    @sebastiankit, yeah, the ground-swimming is a vanilla thing and there's not much I can do about it, unfortunately. Still, glad it's mostly working on the server :D.

    @Katarumi, wow, well that's an interedastering tale there. It goes without saying that I'm not sure what could have caused that crash, and without an error log I'd just be poking at the code blindly. If it does happen again, make sure to grab the log so I can look into it. If it doesn't happen again.. cheers! :D

    @Bcannon, it gave you a folder? I can only upload .zip files, so I'm not sure how you got a folder (unless you mean the folders inside the .zip?

    @Showjumperstar, the lasso and spawner lasso serve two completely different purposes. Plus, the spawner lasso will eventually be uncraftable to begin with; it's only craftable now for bugtesting and compensating for bugs in general... especially since horses aren't spawning correctly at the moment.
    (Also, it's "Complexly" Horses =D)

    @Thornwolfy257, you'd be better off using Optifine instead of MCPatcher, I think. Install Opti to the jar after installing Forge ^^

    @minecraftshazz, sorry, seems I left that out in the OP. To hitch a horse, you first lasso it, then right-click a wooden block.

    @JakeFord, I'll be changing the steering system back to the original system, which had a (as someone recently called it) "Free look" toggle so you could fight and aim while your horse kept moving. Thanks for the input!

    @XtremeSparkles, depends on the exact problem you're having, but here are some tips:
    1. Make sure the whippletrees are correct. If you want a two-horse whippletree, lasso the two harnessed horses to each other (form an X with their leads). This should spawn them into a whippletree
    2. If you only want to hook up a single horse, lasso the vehicle (or whippletree) directly to that harnessed horse. It'll spawn a swingletree.
    3. To make sure you are selecting a whippletree or swingletree, always lasso from the back. If you select one from the front, you might lasso the horse inside of it instead.
    4. Always connect vehicles to whippletrees, not vice versa

    @UnladenSparrow, hope school's been fair and you've been having fun with the mod ^^. Oh, horses not dropping tack was an oversight on my part and will be fixed in the next release, as will vehicles not dropping their item when destroyed. On that note, vehicles are technically mobs at the moment, so they will act somewhat sentient... sigh.

    @WerewolfGirl2013, Simply Horses and Mo Creatures are compatible =P

    @Sirdave, huh, I've no idea why the horse would be spinning out of control, has this continued?

    @Russian_Dimitri, were both horses wearing harnesses at the time? They both need to be.

    @abj9562, TFC_on only changes the health of the horses and vehicles to match TFC levels right now. You can use a combo of SH's "nonironlasso_on" config and TFCs "enable vanilla recipes" config. the noniron lasso only uses string, and vanilla recipes allows you to convert wrought iron to vanilla iron.

    @Cookieprincess, um... I will look into the dying clydesdales. The lasso item, however, will not disappear even if you hitch a horse. It has forever-uses for the moment- unless you mean the actual line that runs from you to the horse?

    @LunariousH, I plan for breeding to be more involved in Complexly Horses, but I think it will be for modifying traits within static breeds (so you can have faster Clydesdales or stronger Arabians). Thanks for the suggestion!

    @Blue_Haze, all great suggestions, thanks! To be honest, I left the "freelook" ability out by accident as there was a short period where controlling the horse was through keypress rather than mouse. I'll hopefully be adding it back in the next version. The on-screen speed indicator is also a really great idea, so I'll be looking into how to do that, too, and building up speed would be a nice addition, too. That's how it works with the pigs in any case.

    @TomeWyrm, "leadropes" make the lasso line the color of the horse's tack. Noniron Lasso makes the iron ingot another string in the lasso recipe, respawn lassos mean that lassos load back into the world when you reenter. TFC_on does not cause horse spawning yet.

    @jadedcat, *Snrk* I.. ah.. eheheh. xD Sorry. Oke... um... It looks like the train got a bit tangled when you entered the water. If that happens, the best bet is to get all of the train onto flat, open ground, and reconnect one of the pieces to the piece in front of it with the lasso. This will straighten out the train so you can steer again :D.

    @Zxapa, thanks for the bug reporting; I've got em logged now :D. As for suggestions- more wagons and horse breeds (including fantastical breeds) will be available in Complexly Horses. Naming your horses, and possibly having saddlebags, is something I will have in Simply Horses once I get all the main content in (which is not much more). Thanks!

    @Tuscany2, Why would you want wild horses to breed with tame ones anyway? Tame horses can breed with each other as is. Gender isn't a thing.
