While modpacks such as FTB enhance the industrial aspect of Minecraft, some of our members sought a return to the vanilla experience, where the priority is survival.
Some reasons why bMC Hardmode is a survival experience like no other:
- Overhauled gameplay mechanics forcing you to think outside the box.
- Limitations on grinders and other automated processes that make the game easy
- A map designed around "core vs periphery" concept, where greater risk brings greater reward.
- Combination of popular and custom plugins where classes, spells, guard NPC's and bosses bring fresh challenges and ways to overcome them.
- A world designed from scratch, with dozens of custom biomes and hundreds of custom objects, adding locations such as skylands, floating jungles and caveworlds to the vanilla experience.
Countless hours have been put into hand painting every little detail on our custom drawn map - from the waterfalls to the oasis in the deserts - this is a unique map that you cannot find on any other server!

A few plugin highlights:
- Say goodbye to getting a diamond armor set in 5 hours! Stone is extremely hard, making tunneling with a pickaxe impractical. Players will have to scout the wilderness for natural caverns, or make their own caves with much-improved TNT or look for other ores to break that will soften the stone around it.
- Every block or item you have can decide life or death!
- Realistic block placement rules will force players to think a little harder about construction, especially when climbing higher or crossing water, lava, or a trench.
- Environmental damage like falling, explosions, and suffocation reduces health more, and often applies temporary effects like slowing, blindness, or dizziness.
- Many other tweaks to mobs, food and survival in general!
- While some servers use limitation of weapons and armor to customize "classes", we give you spells and passive bonuses!
- All spells have been written and tested from scratch by our own coders.
- Riposte attacks and leash running opponents as a Warrior,
- Blink around and rain frostbolts and fireballs at your enemy as a Mage,
- Heal your friends and smite your foes as a Healer,
- Do extra damage by aiming carefully with a headshot and go into stealth as a Rogue
