I'm pretty sure its impossible he made that map without creative mode or any editing tools, otherwise there would be bedrock along the bottom of the map.
Check the thread, the map was made to be a small island floating above the void. Your task is to make it awesome in game

not really, but there's someone working on a successor:

Hi there.
Not dead yet.
Dimensions remain complicated.
But I'm still making progress.

I was considering a Plort Market block, but adding in some new Villagers might be more in line with Minecraft's style. I am not sure which one would be the better choice. What are your thoughts on it?

Today I took a break from figuring out Dimensional stuff and added a few more things:
Pink Plort Blocks
Stony and Briar Chickens (and associated items)

The Far Far Range will generate and be infinite like every other dimension. I am not planning on using a premade map.
The map in Slime Rancher is nice (and you should go check out the new areas, Indigo Quarry released today), but I don't feel that having a premade map would fit Minecraft as well.
I will continue to post in this thread as I make progress.
And a neat thing about the Indigo Quarry update being out is that I can draw up the textures for the Rad Largos now.

Yep. It's coming along. A bit slowly, because I've been busy with my job and some other personal projects. But it's coming.

It's coming along. Dimensions are complicated, but I'm figuring it out.

The Honey Slime thanks you for your attention to detail.

None of the slimes spawn naturally yet. I'm going to make them only spawn in the Biomes I add, and I'll prolly assign different slimes to each biome.
Except the Gold Slime, that one will spawn somewhat rarely in the overworld, and you'll need Gold Plorts to make the Portal to the Far, Far Range.
(since Gold Slimes will run from you, I'm planning on making a throwable "food" item that will fill any slime's belly)
Following the model of the game, the biomes I have planned so far are:
Dry Reef
Moss Blanket
Indigo Quarry
Glass Desert
Slime Sea
As for models, I've been using Tabula (mod by iChun). I'm hoping to do the models myself. I do have a model for the vacpack semi-assembled, but I like the icon better.

okay, took me a little while, but I got it working. Mostly.
(semi-long gif)
It doesn't clear itself like it should after deploying the last slime it has stored.
workaround for now is a crafting recipe that will clear it completely.
I think I'll work on biomes and a dimension next.
Wish me luck.

I don't know about the vacpack having a model yet. I might give it one when I'm feeling ambitious. And it would be an original model, I'm not ripping anything directly from the game. As for rendering items, I had that figured out before I figured out how to give the Slimes Faces:

Looks like the part that hurts blazes is in the snowball, not the blaze. I could prolly use an Event Handler to make the snowballs hurt Tarr, or I could prolly make some sort of Water Balloon item. Or maybe just make Puddle Plorts a throwable item... Thoughts?

or place some water. Which reminds me, I still need to figure out how to make them get hurt by snowballs... or should I leave it at just water?

well, unlike Slime Rancher, the Vacpack will be an item like any other. If you wanted, you could stuff your inventory with them and hold all the kinds of slimes (except gold). I am still unsure about transporting Largos, you may need to just use Leads for them.

idk about the auto-feeder and collector. the feeder isn't really necessary as you can build one with redstone stuff. I might do the collector, but I'm not sure about it yet.
I'm currently working to figure out how to make the VacPack. If I get it working right, it'll store the slimes in the item itself. Each Vacpack will only be able to store one type of slime at a time. I'm definitely not going to make it give you spawn eggs, as then you'd be able to exploit it to reset the slimes' health and the hunger timer.
