    Has anyone figured out how to craft Glass yet?

    I tried smelting sand, and various grid schema, but nothing has worked yet.

    And "B" no longer works, so I'm wondering if there will be locations for more advanced crafting.

    But it's about as rare as gold, if not rarer, so you'll have to look harder.

    Good ideas, but please don't get confused between /indev/ (discussion about stuff that Notch is currently working on) with Suggestions (discussion about stuff we want Notch to work on).

    You say "with respect to the recent progress with /indev/, but nothing here is really feedback. It's as you say, a wishlist; wishlists go in the Suggestions forum.

    I'm in favor of ONLY hunger, and ONLY in Survival. It'll keep you from being able to hold up in an air-tight fortress. People in survival horror movies frequently start to starve and have to venture out to forage.

    pulsusego's pretty much on the ball, but I'd even it out a little more. 10 minutes for your hunger bar to deplete and 1 minute per half a heart once it's gone. With good balance to the game, finding food shouldn't be an issue at all except if you're a tard-o and think you'll be ok by walling yourself in a tower with no supplies.

    And I agree, it'd be great as an option.

    I'm very in favor of this.

    I'd go so far as to say that carrying around an empty chest should take most, if not all, of your inventory space. A chest that can hold a crapload of items....even if you could carry it when empty, you wouldn't be able to carry much else. That may be too realistic though. I just think it'd be interesting that you'd have to establish your base with a chest and have to go back for the items you'd want to put in it.

    I'm also not sure I like all the recent improvements made to the Inventory and Chests. Given the link to my thread that Notch included, I was expecting being able to enter and exit the Inventory easier, and be able to move items between the Inventory and Chests easier. Ah well.

    As sad as that is, Vikatikki, that's really more of an "anti-griefer" argument more than a "pro-hack" one.

    Whether you build a tower in 1 hour or 7, it can still be griefed. In your friend's case it just means that it would have been griefed sooner.

    Yeah, I'm still skeptical.

    For one thing, it's not much harder to make an iron tool than it is to make a stone tool. And emerald, too. If stats are going to be applied to items, and it's too simple to get the higher-quality types, then what's the point of having the lower ones at all?

    I'm still hopefull: Crafting is still on the ToDo list, so it's not final by a longshot. But it really seems absurdly simple, too constrained to allow for comprehensive variety, and ill-suited for a fleshed-out system.

    It may be solvable with some heavy rebalancing of material requirements and material availability, but I'm not sure if it can be done with the 3x3 grid. There's just not enough room.

    Everyone should be able to have the best tools, but that doesn't mean they should all be easy to get. "Once everyone is special, then no one will be."

    And yet....this may be exactly how complex Notch wants the system to be. I'm sure if it is, we'll be able to adapt.
