Caves and other objects in the background(like the mushrooms) are positioned at the bottom of the page, instead of near the top.

This is intentional, I'm sure. The top and bottom of the page are fixed. The top because nothing is above it, and the bottom where the content ends.

Everything in between is variable, dependant on how long the posts are and your own settings for how many threads/posts appear on a page.

The background pictures can be set for the top and bottom because they are constant, but for the variable middle a repeating texture is used (or in the case of IE, no middle or bottom texture at all.)

I wouldn't rule out some texture being created that could variably fill in the middle, but that would take time and resources, and implementation would eat at bandwidth, and we have enough complaints on how slow the site runs.

posted a message on Warn Status
Please note that even when Warnings expire the record of them remains.

Not that anyone is thinking this *ahem*, but "My warning level went down so now I can be a **** once more and get away with it" is not a mindset that users can get profit from.

It's best not to get Warnings at all, or if it does happen you shouldn't worry about the level....unless you were planning on getting more. Just follow the Rules and that Warning bar should be irrelevant.

But you all worked on the wrong things, apparently.

That's big assumption to make, not knowing what goes on behind the scenes.

Moving clouds, tabs, twitter, etc., are easy. And they cost virtually nothing in bandwidth.

Giving every member the ability to search and view their posts is what crippled the old forum. It's one of the biggest features on the site, I would wager. Features are being brought online as they are tested, fixed, and stable. And a feature like that is NOT something they should turn on without extensive testing and trial with thousands of users online at once. Give'em some time to work it out.

If going a few days without it as they make the site transition is really "a pain in the ass," then I can't help you. It's really not the end of the world, depsite how some people are acting. Unlike the old forums, which lost the feature and wasn't getting it back, search WILL be up and running soon.

posted a message on IE9 and Multi-Quote NOT working!
I'm sure it'll get fixed sooner than later. Variations between browsers make it difficult to catch all the differences off the bat, but they're quickly fixable.

Now before this gets into a browser war, I'm going to close this. If anyone has anything relevant to say, PM me and I'll reopen it.

Yes, sorry, I should have mentioned, it'll be something we take a look at. We've got quite a list of little fixes and features for Curse to look at. :)

You all should also be able to set Approvals to your profile comments, so they won't even show up there unless you approve of them.

I know there are plenty of problems, along with complaints. I know they(whoever can edit the site, that is), is working to fix these things, and I understand that. I guess I'm just tired, and annoyed how nearly half the forum can't log in to their original accounts. I'll just wait it out, I suppose. I'll be back in a few days. No use waiting for help, when I won't get any for a while. :tongue.gif:

Thanks for understanding, and I'll be the first to apologize for the transition. It's a process, and one that will be worked out and completed sooner than later.

Sorry, but I never saw anybody complain about the old forums. O_o There's been more complaint about the new forums in one day, than there has been about the old one in years.

That doesn't mean they didn't happen, trust me. I've been staff for well over a year now, and we get to hear everything.

Of course there are more complains being seen right now. The site is new, and still in transition. Although the vast majority of the complaints are duplicates, particularly over the lack of "view your posts." Things are still being worked out. If you can't accept that, then I can't help you.

    and no one likes it.

That's an awfully broad generalization. I've seen quite a few posters saying they like it, and of the few dozen who posted they don't like what they see or are experiencing (out of the thousands browsing and using the forum),
    1) The one constant of the universe is Change. Adapt or die.
    2) Issues with accounts and posts are being resolved even as I type.
    3) Features like "view your posts" are being brought online gradually, to make sure they're stable
    4) Aesthetic issues can be altered, once we've tackled the bugs

Video+home tabs are good, but I don't like anything else on the new site. Especially where 3 of the tabs are just links.

What's wrong with them just being links?

I'm sorry if you don't like the site. Months of people complaining about the old site, and countless man-hours by Curse to set this one up, if you're so picky and indignant over the change, maybe you should write your own site. Complaints for the sake of complaints are worthless.

It's the way the forums are set up.

As it happens, these are Minecraft Forums. It's not our responsibility to make getting DragCave views easier. If I had my way DragCave wouldn't even be allowed.

posted a message on Serious Herobrine Coversation (Read before criticizing)
Any discussion of a thing increases the presence of a thing. The more people talk about Herobrine, even seriously, the more people will want to bring it up, and many not so seriously. It's for that reason we have a blanket ban on these discussions, sorry.
