posted a message on block type - shapes

There is a mod that adds these shapes, cant remember its name, thinks its called Carpentry or something similar. It allows you to place 'Carpenters blocks' which are essentially frame work. You can then place what ever block you want into the Carpenters block, choose its shape and its done. The only problem is that, at least the versions i know of, create lag if you use a lot of them in one area. They're mainly used for small decorations.

But sadly, i can't support this. Minecraft is meant to be a Cube-based world where everything is at least made of smaller squares. Adding a perfect sphere would completely ruin the aesthetic that the game has built up over the past 7 years, its also this simplicity that makes it so popular. If modders had to create perfect spheres and texture them or design and texture curves, many would have probably gave up long ago causing Minecraft to stagnate and not growing into the constantly expanding game it is today.

Okay, i suppose that having cocoa beans and brown dye as usable dyes would avoid some confusion. The only problem that might arise from having two items able to dye things brown if if people got confused as to which to use as they didnt know both worked (Although, i guess it could very easily be explained in the descriptions of brown dye and cocoa beans.) The reason i said it should yeild three dyes is as it is made up of three dyes, but, for the sake of conformity, i will change it to two. (Sorry for the long response time)

posted a message on Stackable Doors

This seems like a great idea, you could have large doors to a keep that actually open. But what about if you wanted a large double door but instead got one huge door? How could you do that? (This was intended to be a question for you but think i may have answered it my self thnking about log doors). If you wanted to have these larger doors, you would have to shift-click one door against the other. Any doors that were shift-clicked against each other connect to form a larger door. They would not join together with a door if it wasnt shift-clicked against it, instead they would just ignore it.

As a side note, i also agree that there should be more building materials for doors like logs for example.

    I support this idea : )

Fair enough, i also suppose the name change from Cactus Green to green dye would confuse some people. I will edit this accordingly to remove the idea of changing the name : ). What do you think about cocoa beans though? Should they be kept as a dye material along side the new "brown dye" or have a crafting option added which changes cocoa beans into a brown dye?

I think Ender Cities need more mobs. I agree that skeletons might not fit so well in the end but if they were based more on Endermen they could fit in a bit more. If they can only teleport you onto solid blocks that they can see, then their teleporting ability, while disorientating, is not too over powered. As they are ranged mobs, it would be unfair if they could dodge projectiles but, if they were based on Endermen, they could teleport after they got hit rather than before. This would make it so they keep similar features to Endermen but are not too hard to kill. If you really wanted them to be based on skeletal creatures, then you could argue that the mobs are the skeletons of previous adventurers who failed to kill the Ender Dragon. Using a hoe a a weapon, like a reaper, could be very unique but it shouldn't do much damage, its main weapon should be its bow.

Overall though, with some work, i'd support this idea : )

posted a message on Interdimensional Teleportation

This seem like a good idea, saves messing about having to build an end portal or nether portal in creative. Would be perfect if it let players teleport to each other in creative mode using the "/tp [player x] [player y]" command (cant remember the exact command but i know its something ike that if that isnt the teleport command). It would be good for moderators on large servers as if someone was in a different dimmension then you wouldnt be able to teleport them to you.

    I Fully Support the idea : )

posted a message on Mixable (Cactus) Green Dye

ive always found it tedious that we still have to seek out a desert if we wanted to dye something green. I mean, you can craft red and blue dye to get purple dye, you can craft red and yellow to get orange dye, so why cant i craft blue and yellow to get green dye? This reminds me of why, in real life, purple dye was so expensive. At the time, people didn't know that red stuff could be mixed with blue stuff to get a purple dye, instead they had to make the dye from snails.

Cacti wouldnt be made useless as you could still farm them for their cactus green, they would be more similar to alliums or tulips in that you could use them for making dye if you wanted to but isnt required. In a similar vein, i would suggest adding "Brown dye" along side cocoa beans, both being able to dye an object. You could also mix: blue and orange, yellow and purple or red and green to get two brown dye. (This also adds more purpose to cacti as you wouldnt need to find and use lapis to get cactus green to make brown dye)

Log fences could be nice as it would add a more natural looking effect for a fence. It would also be used to make a structure look 'make-shift' as you were proping it up with tree branches. For the conecting sections though you would obviously use the sideways log texture so it doesnt look out of place

As for the stone slabs, you could have it so you can craft stone slabs/stairs (new ones that use the stone texture) into smooth stone slabs/stairs (that use the texture for the old stone slab) by simply putting one into a crafting table. This gives the effct that you are taking your stone shape and cleaning it up so it looks more polished (which explains why the texture looks different to stone).

Well if you wanted a practical purpose for sitting, it could add a "Rested" buff which allows hunger to decrease slower and allows you to cut, mine or dig faster. The buff would only be applied if you sat down for a minimum length of time and would be applied after you stood up so you wouldnt become non-rested from staying sat down (non-rested is not another effect).

But honstly, i think a chair block would take away creativeness. It's like giving people a choice of building their own home (and giving the materials to build it) or giving them a block that spawns a basic, unninventive and boring house. Most people playing survival would choose the block that spawns a house as it is the 'path of least resistance' and it saves them time or having to create their own thing. It's similar to the chair block, most people would just place a chair if they didnt have to create their own and, as such, there would be less creativity. Furthermore, as someone rightly pointed out, you couldnt have both created and prefab chairs as the level of detail would clash.

posted a message on Placing slimeballs on block faces

Well what about item frames? You can place a block directly infront of one without it instantly breaking. If the section of code that caused it to break after a certain time was removed from this one pixel thick slimeball 'block' entity you could code for this to behave like the slimeblock rather than the block it's self. I understand that it wouldnt be too easy and some people may see it as unnecessary but it could massively help redstone users to build bigger or more complex machines.

I like the idea of more coloured slabs and stairs, concrete seems like the perfect material to use as it is already quite colourful. I would also suggest including red nether brick and endstone slabs and stairs for the sake of variaton. I would also like to see smooth stone slabs and stairs as it would allow us to create a more natural looking cave, create better looking stalagmites/stalactites and add more detail to stone statues.

I like the idea of more pillars as it would allow for more variation in a wide range of structures from desert houses to dwarven caves to end/nether themed houses. I would also like to suggest having more wall blocks rather than just cobblestone, i would like to see: sandstone, red sandstone, stone brick, (red)nether brick and regular bricks.

More varried buttons, pressure plates and trap doors would be a nice touch for decoration

Im not too keen on chairs as they would seem out of place in regular minecraft, plus, there are a multitude of mods out there for furniture. Also unsure about the clay tiles as they may seem out of place but could be nice if well executed.

Overall though, i'd Mostly support this idea

posted a message on Placing slimeballs on block faces

So the general idea of this is to allow a slimeball to be placed on the face of a block. This would cause just that face to behave like it was a slime block (the slimeballs could also be placed on more than one face - or even all of faces of a block - and they each would behave like a slimeblock). This would allow for much more compact redstone doors as several blocks could be stuck together (Making sure the other sides of the shape didnt have simeballs placed on them) and the shape could be pulled or pushed by a single piston.

Another redstone use of them is to allow for a more compact circuit (which, if a slimeblock was used, would normally break due to the slimeblock moving another block with redstone on it). This is because the sticky side of the block would only be where it's needed and the other sides would behave like a normal block. This may also help with building larger flying machines and the like.

To make a block non-sticky again, you would only have to hit it (Like redstone dust) and it would pop off to be used again. It could have a similar texture to the slime on a sticky piston. When placed on a block, it could make a similar sound to slimeblocks being placed but quieter.

The slimeballs' new feature would not make slimeblocks redundant as blocks with simeballs placed on them would not break your fall like slimeblocks do. They would also be much less bouncy, even less than a bed (this would be due to there being less "bouncy material" to break your fall or to increase your jump height.) They would still slow the player down though much like regular slimeblocks.
