I'm all for prisons, though I don't think of them as jails; more as a barrier for griefers. I can understand why people would make them. Most griefers just want to destroy stuff frequently and would not wait that long for an op to let them out, but few griefers do wait and are initially polite (when requesting their freedom), but that's significantly less than how many you'd get if the spawn point was open. There have been countless times where I've seen someone's fabulous, psychadelic rainbow-tower-with-matching-spiral-staircase has been griefed to bits within the hour of completion on normal servers, whereas, in servers with jails, most buildings I see untouched by the filthy mitts of griefers. Though inconvenient for some, it's incredibly useful for preventing the access of most griefers, even if it does **** other players off. I don't mind it, since, when I'm let out, that's it over and I can start as I would normally (though there's that little problem with accidentally respawning into the jail or simply disconnecting...).
Also, saying that it doesn't matter when someone's building is destroyed is like saying that it doesn't matter if a game save file is deleted, or if someone's painting is burned, or if someone's model is crushed, or if someone's movie was deleted. People care about their creations because they put effort into it.
...you see the sun.
...you notice that shadows are at an angle instead of straight down.
...it's night time and you think you've been caved in.
...you start painting your clothes and face in different colours.
Well, I spent hours working on Liru (as seen in my avatar) and when I had finished I just wore this ever since. I don't know when I'll update it, but I will, because it has its flaws, but, for now, it's my pride and joy!
(Why is that second picture a .jpeg when it's NAMED .png!? Stupid MS Paint.)
Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to say about you guys. Some of you make some really impressive skins. I don't know how you do them! My favourite authors so far are Snowman and Trandom_Kraggus. I guess I love Valve characters too much.
(That No Mercy picture is my favourite picture out of the lot, mainly because the survivors have no guns and are running about mad, with the most basic form of a Hospital and sky in the background. XDDD (Yes, I have three mouths.))
Even though it's not entirely necessary, I would like this as well. Sometimes I want to have a good look at things in the distance through glass or something and the flashing cursor can sort of get in the way. Making the cursor, crosshair and block panel disappear with a hotkey would be helpful.
There is a way to get the flashing cursor away right now though, but it depends if you're in the right position. Switching to the build mode and going right up to the wall you're facing can hide the cursor (as if you're actually standing inside of where it would be), but it would only really work if you're looking through glass, I think...
I usually build a series of tall apartments which have many balconies and doorways linking to other buildings and stuff. If you would like that in your city, then I'd be happy to contribute. I would at least like to go to the server itself and check everything out, because right now it's looking fantastic!
Is there a possible way to make a "grief" tag, such as:
/grief which tags a player saying:
Grief: #
for how many times they have been tagged, it would be for op's only but members of the server could vote for and against it, and they could vote for it to be tagged.
That would get abused FAR too easily. Griefers (for example) could tag everyone they see without the other players knowing, and that would repeat until players have a massively high number where nobody would trust them anymore.
As things are right now, you can just keep an eye on players every so often and then /banip them if you spot them griefing. The admin blocks blocking the spawn point is very useful as well.
citric: Well, it was my first arena, so it's currently my favourite size, for now. And I liked the idea of multiple layers (an idea which I thought up... after someone had thought it up first), but haven't yet played that.
I really don't like small arenas. Big arenas with loads of players in teams are much more fun (for me)!
Edit: I just watched your second video. It looks much more frantic with such a big layer gap since you'd have to look down AND around at the same time.

And shortly after I had posted, someone arrived and saved me from the spawn point! So I continued and finally finished G&W. This took me so long.

And I think this effect sort of happens as well when you're digging a lot (tunneling through ground). It certainly creates a rhythm, anyway.

(Just the Pokéballs)
I was working on a big Game & Watch one, too, but my power went out for ages, and now there are no admins to let me out of the spawn point!

...Well, I guess I should show it, anyway...
Full view from outside, with doorway entrance. The red "M"... you see them everywhere.
View from one of the little balcony bits, looking down to show the multiple floors and ground below.
It's still in development (still trying to get it higher from a tall, opposing, orange building), so I just add to it when I can be bothered. XD
