This would require some work, in making the whole "Which way to open" thing.
But this would be a cool idea.
It could just be set from which direction to create the door in, like, wherever you create the door, it will always be pushed by walking in the direction of whichever way it was that you were facing when you intially placed the door. For instance, if you placed the door while standing on the outside, you would always push the door when walking inside and pull the door open when leaving to the outside, and vice versa for placing it from inside of the building.
Or, it could be simpler and have it just push both ways. Also, having double doors would eliminate the matter of which side of the door is hinged. Putting both of those ideas together would make it so that you always push the door open (just by walking into it) and walk straight through.
I was just inspired: For survival mode (with NPCs, monsters and opposing players), if a hostile person wanted through the door but didn't have any keys or anything, they could start trying to break the door down (using their "dig" tool if it was a player) and would take about 5-10 hits to destroy the door completely and gain access. Damaged doors could be repaired by the team by gaining and using the appropriate materials.
Hi my friends and i have also noticed that if you have the ''destruction'' mode and look at glass and its water behind it you cant see the water is this going too be fixed in later versions? Its not a big deal but it can be annoying at times like you
have an under water base and someone just use that bug too see the base.
Same thing with selecting plants, except it's the plant that disappears. It's not supposed to happen, so these glitches will probably be fixed at some point soon.
I also noticed that the text at the top-left (fps, chunk updates) could also get in the way of videos, but I don't know if that should be removed.
Cages filter out griefers, but regular players, too. It's all depending on whether the server values their creators or their creations more. Personally, I don't find if servers are caged or not. Caging is effecient, but maybe for the lesser good...
@dexter: Ah, yeah, I didn't think of it that way. After making my big pixel art of G&W, I had realized that after screenshotting what I had done and preserving the sight forever, I didn't care if it was griefed or not, because I was pretty much done with it and I had achieved the accomplishment of my creation. Pixel art is also a bit annoying when deciding where to build your buildings on those servers. You can't build anywhere in front of it; it blocks the view. You can't build behind it; it's against the side of the map. You can't build beside it; there's another slab of pixel art there! After screenshotting, videoing or saving the creation, people shouldn't care or be surprised if it gets griefed. Now, after finishing a pixel art thing again and screenshotting it, I'll feel like I should just tear down the whole thing. It would clear the wasted space... Now I'm starting to learn from all of this. XD
There's also the server restarts erasing people's work, but that doesn't seem to be as painful. o_O
I've never had a server where every op restricts everyone else's building areas with their own op blocks, but only for their own buildings to prevent them getting griefed. Though I'm an op on at least one server, I don't really use that block when constructing stuff, but only for outlining main things (like underground rooms or bridges) to prevent griefers drilling through it and possibly flooding the room(s). (I wouldn't use the op block for building anyway; it would look ugly.)
I also disagree with ops having their own library of permanent blocks. There's really no need for that. It's basically cheating!
That's what I was thinking! But I thought that it would be good for if, when gaining a flower from somewhere (seeds?), plants/mushrooms would start growing from the initial area of the flower that was planted, and would act in the same way as real life (with seeds and stuff). I don't know if mushrooms do that, though... Maybe they would grow underground or in the shade?
And plants growing is just as useful as grass growing. :wink.gif:
I was able to connect, like, 15 minutes ago, but I disconnected and can't get back on. I'll have to try it again later...
Well, so far I've built two main apartment buildings and riddled every outside wall with windows, so I've still got work to do... The second building isn't even complete, so it's going to be much taller.
The statement in the topic was something I knew well (sort of going along with the saying "Nothing is perfect"), and assumed everyone else knew as well... I had thought in my head "You can't stop them", and no matter what "they" are, "they" will always find ways through to cause inconveniences.
It's like when I used to play MapleStory, the company decided to start putting in swear filters to keep MapleStory as a family game, which meant that if you said the word, your entire sentence was blocked and you would have to retype. People would find ways through the filter such as putting spaces in between each letter. The company found out about this and started programming the filters so that they would ignore spaces. This went on, expanding so that lots of different words were censored, and it was driving everyone crazy; things like "Smash it" would get blocked and would delay what the players were trying to really say. Even simpler things like "Get it" would be blocked as well. What the company ended up doing was not stopping people from swearing (they would find ways around it by typing "fck" or "sht", which were later blocked, but then they would start typing "fk"...), but stopping people from speaking. If Notch were to try to stop inevitable inconveniences such as griefers, something frustrating just like this would end up happening. There's really no need to try and stop them, because they'll always find ways through, such as spawn prisons which don't work entirely (griefers can act trustworthy and then grief it up when your backs are turned). People just have to learn to accept that bad things occur, just like in real life. Nothing can or will be entirely perfect.
Here's an old picture of me... 1-2 years old.... I think?
It's a bit too fuzzy. And the colour is annoying. And the fuzz makes it unclear. And my moustache doesn't look like that anymore. Any my hair is longer! And it's too dark. I hate this picture now! It sucks!
I'll proabably update my picture when I get a new webcam, which should be within the next fortnight.

The prone position! I like that idea.
You don't need knees to drop to the floor!
