Does this mean Stray skeletons will have ice bow enchantments, instead of slowness arrows?

I suppose that would make the most sense

This means that freezing does what Slowness does except that your attack speed is trolled down. Don't think I want that.

Don't think I'd want that either. Things like that make one block pointlessly annoying. It's not the worst thing ever, but I still don't see much of a point in that except to debuff the player just because. We don't need more bows if we have enchantments.

So every arrow I fire from this turns into something that bogs down walk and attack speed? I'd hate to run into another player with something like this.

Yeah uh this is more or less a cop-out to avoid to discussion. "Well your opinion and mine are different" is pretty obvious from the start, reiterating that does nothing. Actually yes, there is something you can do about this. I don't see any sense in adding another 'slowness' effect but slapping a slower attack speed on it. A freezing effect could work, but only if balanced properly and without the need for a beefy annoying bow.

    1. Freezing can be applied to Swords, and can be removed by staying near a light source.

2.Frost Bows as in Bows enchanted with Frost.

    3. He disliked one of the core aspects of the suggestion, and I didn't want to change it.

    4. You are probably right in the notion that there are better methods of being afflicted with freezing in nature, other than making Ice annoying.

Freezing is similar to burning in the sense that they are both possess effects, though they are not status effects. When an entity is burning, they begin to emit snow particles, and their movement and attack speeds begin to gradually slow by 50%. Also, mobs inflicted with freezing experience the same effects as they would when in contact with water. Enderman and Blazes take damage from Freezing. Freezing will wear off after awhile, or by standing near fire or a torch.

    Causes of Freezing:
    1. Frost Enchantment
    2. Ice Aspect Enchantment
    3. Standing on Ice blocks with no boots for too long.

A significant concern was that Frost Bows would render slowness arrows useless, or vice versa. However, I believe that each option possesses its own niche.

    Benefits of Frost Bows:
    1. Compatible with Infinity
    2. Slows both movement and attack speed
    3. Does extra damage to certain mobs
    4. Doesn't require the constant upkeep of potions.

    Benefits of Slowness arrows:
    1. Inflicts a more potent slowness for longer.
    2. Cannot be removed by standing near a light source.

Easily the best suggestion I've seen in a long time. Only thing I would adjust is the charge time from 2 to 4 for the max but leave the damage multipliers as they are.

Example: 3x at 4 seconds, 2.5x at 3 seconds, 2x at 2 seconds, 1.5x at 1 second. 1x would be equal to a basic attack anyway so I would make that anything less than 1 full second.

Aside from that you've got my support.

    🙂

Could I ask why you want this changed? Why would it take someone 4 whole seconds to stab someone?

I may have missed this, but what's the point of different wards if the essence is what determines the ability?

I'd rather see poisonous potatoes get a use before they add yet another fairly pointless poisonous item. There's plenty of items already in the game that would make for good blindness ingredients.

Personally I've always thought that poisonous potatoes should be used for Nausea

Support. As an alchemist, I've always wanted access to this ability.

I thought that too, until he said he'd go into it more if it got more support. That's just a weird loop/trap. Something is better off being detailed to get someone to support, but to get the details... we need more support?

Not exactly. I was going to add in my ideas for new Magic armors if it got support. It's not a threat or an ultimatum. I wanted to see if the overall concept was received well before adding to it. Why build on a foundation of sand? I wanted to be sure I had a strong foundation.

To me it seemed abundantly clear that the other magic armors were just examples of what could come in the future and not a core part of the suggestion. Overall I like the idea. How would light armor having faster sneak speed play into having no armor? Following the same logic, wearing no armor would decrease detection and increase sneak speed even further.

I included that no armor behaves identical to light armor.

Easily one of the better suggestions, but not sure if I support it. This is all well written, but the potion-tipping and enchantments and charging, making this a candidate for extreme overpoweredness. I wouldn't make much of a fuss if this was added, as it's still unique enough to be it's own weapon. It's hard to say exactly what would "perfect" the idea, but maybe the potion-tipping could use a rework.

Fair point. I'll add that charging only multiplies base damage. Damage from enchantments and potions will be added afterward.

I'm getting a Dwarven automaton from the Elder Scrolls vibe with this. I like it. But, like Ender Girl said, something like this might fit better in its own structure, maybe an abandoned underground city or factory.
