I'm pretty sure I installed Forge correctly, mostly because it's simple. And the one time I missed a step it wouldn't work at all.
As for Millenaire, I installed it here:
The Readme in the zip is quite simple and self explanatory about where to put stuff now. (All of it goes into "mods".)
If the instructions are up to date, then I didn't install it wrong
You installed it right yes but the instructions don't tell you to put anything in the coremods folder,
I don't know why felinoel said that you installed it wrong, you are right about the mod having a high CPU usage, i recommend a 3.0GHz duel core CPU minimum. It does seem that the slower your computer is the more bugs you have I don't have any bugs on my gaming machine but on my laptop and mac i do. Now I'm not sure that all the bugs are related to performance but it seems that some are especially the ticking bugs.
Dedicating more RAM to minecraft helps with loading chunks but not with lag spikes. A large CPU helps a lot too. I got nearly 400 FPS on vanilla minecraft but with millenaire I get a very unstable frame rate anywhere between 30-120. I know having any frame rate above 70 fps is useless as most screen refresh rates don't go above that and he human eye can only process 150 fps anyway, but its still a significant drop and shows what a resource intensive mod it is.
