These are some... interesting ideas, although I can't imagine tossing rocks and iron ore into your soup would be very good for you. I love the shish-kebab ideas however.
I could imagine picking up mobs while they're stunned somehow. Don't think it should be possible to pick up conscious mobs without them trying to blow up/shoot/maul you.
Other than the usual "sneak up behind you and blow up" scenario, I do remember this one diamond vein I kept trying to get to with lava all over the place. Every single time I approached it, a creeper would come out of one of the dark caverns from above, drop down and blow up, taking out most of my health, forcing me to run backwards into a corner to heal back up. Went through all that maybe 5 to 6 times for that one vein of diamond?
Jesus Christ guys, you guys have any idea how much I CRINGED reading through all these posts?
-Been stated before, making meat stackable will get rid of all if any challenge to the game.
-Pach: Your argument about us being able to carry a ****-ton of rocks yet not being able to stack meat? While a little realism is appreciated, something that keeps the game challenging shouldn't be given up for realism. The world isn't made up of cubes, now is it?
-Travesty: You are partly at fault for nearly derailing this suggestion and almost turning it into a flame thread. Just sayin'
Now, how about we stop your little argument and get back to the suggestion itself. The original poster suggested this in the first place to create an easier way to heal wolves. I feel instead of stacking meat, we could possibly find a compromise. Maybe a stackable meat-type food item that heals wolves only and gives little to no benefit to the player?
Sure, it makes an effective forward guard tower, with a way to save the guard/sentry himself, but in the end, they get a whole bunch of ladders and minecart tracks. Its also pretty expensive as others pointed out.
Bugle - Attracts enemy mobs and scares peaceful mobs. Low pitch tune. Does not work in the Aether.
Flute - Attracts peaceful mobs and scares enemy mobs. High pitch tune. Does not work in the Nether.
Both instruments would be available in survival multiplayer and survival singleplayer. They can be heard for a short radius or just by the person who is playing the instrument (depending on what you think is suitable). An option maybe available where you can change the volume of the instruments to avoid sound whores.
Good idea, but I have no idea how a flute is going to scare off skeletons or zombies or creepers...
Also i like the dynamite arrow but only in single player cause if im in mutiplayer and some nubish griefer found out about them they would just nubetube my house? :/
Of course, they would have to get the materials himself, so it might take a while before he's got a sufficient amount to actually barrage your house with multiple arrows.

Maybe, in the Skin Editor area, you could choose from all the current mobs to use as a BASE MODEL, and change it to your liking from there. Could be used until people find a way to have their own models used in it.
Now that I think about it, should summoning zombie pigmen be possible? They seem to have a "strength in numbers" thing, so you could make the summoned one slightly weaker than the regular one.

So by "desperate" you mean low on health or out of range?
