Isn't that technically your fault... since you were building a castle... with mines around it... in a singleplayer world?

Like, that was probably a recipe for disaster. Even if a pig hadn't stepped on it, some other mob, probably a hostile one, would have set it off anyways.

A server... that relies on obeying other people...

Okay. Rule #1 of making games: People like freedom. No one likes slaving under others, and frankly this would result in some fairly corrupt clan leaders. I don't think this would work at all.

How many times do I have to point out that some hacked clients like Nodus were designed for owners and admins. Mojang shouldn't enforce a set of rules on all servers, that's not their job. Servers moderate themselves, and hackers are their problem.

I probably put more effort into this response than you did in your entire post. And that's saying something.

I have 2 problems with this.

    1. As long as Minecraft is coded in such a way that people have easy access to the source files, anything put in place to prevent hacking can and will be bypassed.
    2. The actual number of people who have working hacked clients is ridiculously tiny, easily less than 1% of active players.

Agreed. One of Minecade's devs did a database check, I think about 0.6% of people were banned. (Emphasis on BANNED. Most were for other reasons.)

Also, you know what's a problem with this idea? From what I understand. your idea is attempting to restrict people from starting the game with a hacked client.

However, a lot of hacked clients (Including Nodus) were actually created for server admins. Mostly for convenience of building, flying, etc, things that you couldn't achieve in vanilla.

If a server wants to get rid of hackers, get a good staff, a good anticheat, and a logblock/watchdog style plugin. It shouldn't be Mojang's responsibility to keep hackers off servers.

Assuming you're playing on the demo, then after the 5 days are up (or whatever the time limit is) then you will no longer be able to interact with the world.

If you're playing on a cracked account, then you should feel like a jerk.

Wont work, witches have fire resistance pots.

    Damn. Right.

    1) Tunnel Under
    2) Get them in a hole
    3) Kill/suffocate
    Quote from GordionGamer»
If you rush both of them around a corner, getting a couple of hits on each of them, they will drink potions of healing, giving you time to rush in and kill them. Milk buckets are definitely useful, but poison will not kill you. If you're sure nothing else is around, rush them, getting an equal number of hits on each of them (if you son't, they will kill you with harming potions).

An alternative plan is to get them to fight each other, then use arrows to kill them. it's fun to watch, much like dueling skeletons.

Pretty sure witches no longer get hurt by each other's potions, or at the very least they don't aggro on each other.
