    What's that? 4 months for multiplayer and buckets?
    - Multiplayer does not work. At all! Good thing I wasn't planning on using it much.
    - It lags like crazy, every 3 or so seconds (same tiny world, so I have no explanation for this, maybe Mojang does).
    - How would I smelt my iron to make those buckets that I've been waiting so long for, I can't freakin' add coal to the furnace (the fuel slot can't be selected)!

    So, the two major features that we waited for do not work, instead they borked the game. The only good thing I can get out of 0.7.0 is smooth lighting and the new UI which is kinda cute. Wish I could actually enjoy it while playing the game that I paid for though.

    My respect for kaalus just tripled.

    Dude, servers don't come out until next week! For me on an iOS device, there is no lag on the highest graphics (with only an A5 chip).
    The furnace bug is pretty bad though, and a fix should be out next week.

    posted a message on DrZhark's Mo' Creatures (mod suggestion thread)
    Fantasy Creatures Mobs:

    Dragon - Your typical dragon, similar to the unimplemented Red Dragon Notch mentioned in the game's development. A rare mob which breathes fire and can fly. Hostile, but will become peaceful after tamed with 5 - 10 meats (Steak, Cooked Porkchop, Cooked Chicken, etc.) Can be ridden and controlled using the default WASD keys and space and left-shift (for up and down control)

    I will post more ideas soon

    Oops, I now see 1) there are already dragons and 2) there is a separate thread for dragons. Stupid me!

    I will make this mod for you, if you'd like. I will not be able to do textures - can you provide them? I made a mod similar to this a while back. Also, should this mod be a Forge mod or a ModLoader mod? (I recommend Forge)

    No, you cannot use Python unfortunately. Only Java works for Minecraft mods, due to the fact that Minecraft is a Java-based game. If you would like a tutorial, click on my signature.

    posted a message on how do i set up a mod for minecraft
    Quote from Yosugo

    You're wrong ... You can use forge to create a mod and add a mod . I already created myself quite a few of them . MultiMc is not bad , I would recommend it too . Eclipse is for editing / adding java class etc. files , you will need it .

    So basically Forge can be used to create server&client mods .

    Regards ,

    - Yosugo

    Yosugo, webrosc meant that the tutorial's topic is about "adding a mod", not "creating a mod". For instructions on installing mods, click here.

    posted a message on Legend Modding Tutorials [Forge 1.5.1]
    Hello Everyone,

    This is Legendary17. I am sorry to say that since the "Tutorials" section has been changed to "Mapping and Modding Tutorials", I have not been able to repost this thread. You can access the old thread here. Feel free to post crash reports and questions on this page. So far, there is one tutorial on this page. You can find the complete version and other tutorials on the alternate forum page above.

    Thank you for your cooperation!

    1.5.1 Tutorials - Being Ported, Full List On Link Above

    Beginning Your Mod
    Prerequisites

    Download Minecraft Forge (Recommended SRC Build)
    Download JDK (Windows + Linux Only)
    Download Eclipse (Choose OS)

    Setting Up Forge
    Windows: Double-click on the install.cmd file

    Mac/Linux: Open Terminal and type "bash". Then hit space and drag in the "install.sh" file. Press enter.

    The decompiling processes should begin. It takes about 5-10 minutes. You are ready to begin coding.

    Opening Eclipse
    To begin, open Eclipse inside the "eclipse.zip" file that generated when you downloaded Eclipse. If you are on a Windows computer, you will need a zip opener software. Where it asks you for a workspace, navigate to the "eclipse" folder inside your "mcp" folder inside your "forge" folder. Click OK.

    Once Eclipse loads, click on the arrow next to "Minecraft", then "src". Click on "src" and go to "File>New>Package". Name your package like so:
    yourname.yourmodname
    You can change the "yourname" and "yourmodname" to whatever you'd like. Now, go to "File>New>Class. Name your class whatever you'd like.
    YourMod
    Click OK. Now you can begin to code!

    Creating Base Classes
    Coming Soon!

    Creating Proxies
    Coming Soon!

    That's all for now on this page! Check out the other forum page for more tutorials!

    I've deleted the §-prefix and everything works now, but I don't have
    colored item names...

    Is there maybe another way to make colored item names?

    The code looked like that:

    LanguageRegistry.addName(MyMod.MyItem, "§1MyItem");

    When I start the Game in Eclipse it shows me a colored Item Name and
    everything is great. I still cannot recompile that, because the recompiler
    does not recognize this §-prefix.
    Please help me! :D

    You may want to try this:
    LanguageRegistry.addName(YourMod.YourItem, "\u00a7_YourItem");

    Replace the "_" with your color's code:
    Black - 0
    Blue - 1
    Green - 2
    Cyan - 3
    Red - 4
    Purple - 5
    Yellow - 6
    White - 7
    Grey - 8
    Light Blue - 9
    Light Green - A
    Light Cyan - B
    Light Red - C
    Light Purple - D
    Light Yellow - E
    Bright White - F

    I hope this works...

    Hey Legendary or Xeto could one of you teach me how to make key-binds for Forge, Mc: 1.5.1? Please make a tutorial for this

    Hello mcslimey,
    I haven't tested this but it should work.
    Add this to your import list:
    import org.lwjgl.opengl.GL11;

    Then add the following code anywhere.
    if(Keyboard.isKeyDown(Keyboard.KEY_<this is where you put the key you want to use>)) {
    //Here you put what you want the key to do.
    }
    I hope this works for you! By the way, thank you for using my signature - I really appreciate it!

    Hi!

    I cannot recompile my mod, because I've used the §-prefix to make
    colored item names.

    The console gives me an error report:

    unmappable character for encoding UTF-8...

    Why the recompiler doesn't use UTF-16???

    What can I do now to keep the colored names?

    Hmmm…

    I'm sorry, but I don't understand why that would happen. That is strange, though. Could you send the code? I could probably help more. Thanks!
