True, but if you like service X and you don't want it removed, it still is logical to provide additional reasons why, right?

No. Because they never planned on removing the service. So you would be trying to justify keeping something that wasn't going to be removed and simply wasting everyones time.

    There, i just had to.

Those aren't games. They are signs of the slow downfall of humanity as the dominant life form on earth.

That is a close up of the regen 'thingies' that are on top of the obsidian towers in the end. They heal the ender dragon. And are quite volatile. Hence the obsidian pillars they rest upon. The must have forced one to spawn with commands in order to add it to the world file outside of the end.

So in actuality that little beauty came from the minds of the Mojangstas not the person who created the file.

No. Minecraft isn't getting worse. But these threads asking if it is are.

    Quote from Pokechu22

The bud isn't broken, but this is why it shouldn't be broken. And in a way the more useful aspects of piston quasiconectivity have been taken away. The use of trapdoors means that they can be used to update pistons. And a BUD block would make this imposible.

So this would be more persuasive if I removed some persuasion? I think it is both.

YOu don't seem to understand that Mojang does note intend to remove this 'feature'. And never did. As has been stated they said they would only add a BUD block IF they accidentally broken BUD switches while adding the new redstone features. But they didn't so they aren't going to add a BUD block. So your entire wall of text is rather pointless. This is like walking into a store and explaining they should continue to offer X service when they didn't plan on doing away with said service.

Why? Maps when fully expanded cover an insane amount of ground. and you could just carry a few of those around. A better way to do this would be an atlas type book out of all the maps you make. (I think that's actually a suggestion around here some where.)

I don´t see why a mod has to set new standards in being original? Sometimes modding just is about...yeah: modding. There are no established guidelines which would deny anyone publishing his personal work!

And why should there be any motivation to "dethrone existing mods"? Did I misread something? I always thought modders were a tolerant and liberal group? In this thread I can see, some are not.

Well if you want your mod to actually get downloaded it's going to need to be something fairly original. If not completely original it needs to have an original take on the concept. I'll stick with ore mods for this explanation.

Simple ores is just that a mod that adds three ores to the game and the armor and tools to go with them. As well as a copper bucket. (for some reason or another.) That's all it does because really that is all it needs to do. But then you have Metallurgy That giant behemoth that adds ores. And special blocks to process those ores, with unique tiers for those blocks, But it also adds an almost unholy number of ores. See? two mods that play with the same idea but execute it in two completely different ways.

Now perhaps 'dethrone' was a bit overly agressive of a term but I would assume that if you are posting a mod on the main mod board then you are looking to get downloads. Or else it should likely be in the Sub-forums for discussion or development.

posted a message on All Animals Without Hacking Or Mods
First off the animals in Mo'creatures and other such mods don't exist in the game.

Second, if you are having trouble with the mods you should be getting help on their threads. Not whining here in the suggestions and saying we should add all of these creatures just to make your life simple.

Finally this is plain and simple a bad idea anyways. implementing all of Mo' Creatures would be like Mojang willingly opening Pandoras box. Knowing full well the chaos that would cause in a community that is already engaged or preparing to engage in trench warfare over multiple issues. We already have Terrain, BTW/BWF, Tekkit/FTB, Forge/Modloader, I'm sure there are others that I could find but these are the biggest lines that have likely claimed the highest casualties and collateral damage. The last thing this community needs is the floodgates to be opened on a deluge of animals rampaging across the tranquil countryside of minecraftia.

On a side note. I think I have broken all of the unwritten rules on what is taboo to talk about in a single post. And seem to have doen it in an extremely metaphor heavy way.

    Quote from 7eggert

Use spawner eggs. There is no need for hacking (= programming) involved.

That wont give her(?) the animals that you can only get with Mo' Creatures. Which I believe is what she(?) wants.

posted a message on What's with the Minecraft music?
Yah. I have to give it to SuperZac on this one. C418's music all feels a bit somber. But I do think your on the right track with it being a reminder of the loneliness and seclusion of Minecraft. Because when you think about it even in a village of one hundred testificates you are still alone as they don't talk and the trades are actually rather detached from the NPC's themselves thanks to he GUI. But at the same time C418's Minecraft OST while somber and 'moody' is still beautiful. Just like the world of Minecraft. Harsh and potentially lethal yet beautiful all the same.

Well I have a good computer, so I don't know if terrain generates lag or not.

Well good for you. But this suggestion would effect all of us. Not just you. So get over yourself.

And none of these actually makes exploring more fun. Heres why:

"Oh look tall mountains. Those are pretty."

    ten minutes later...

"Oh. Turns out those pretty mountains I saw are just as bland and repetitive as every other biome in the game."

Still need convincing? Fine then how about another.

"Oh look a field full of nothing but pretty flowers. Lets go frolic with the rainbow of sheep."

    ten minutes later...

"Why is it all so red?! It hurts my eyes! Stupid field why are you so colorless."

Sense I'm here I might as well do the other one as well.

"Oh look large mountains covered in sand in another wise flat desert. Thats interesting, maybe I'll build my base inside it."

ten minutes and hundrads of shovels later...

"Great now all the sands fallen off the mountain and it just looks like a giant rock in the desert. Screw this I'm going back to the hideous ocean of blood called a flower field."

The only one of these that isn't just as flawed as the current terrain is the Pine forest. which isn't even an original idea. THose were in the game and got taken out. For whatever reason. So it wouldn't even be a new feature.
