I would like to build a good experience farm. I have been doing some research but so far it appears that most of the videos are outdated or a bit too complicated for me, or just plain not what i am looking for.
Here is what i would like:
1 - Something that i don't need to use a weapon to kill the mobs. Currently i have 2 monster spawners / experience farm going on. 1 is a skeleton spawner and the other is a cave spider one. But these require me to kill them with weapons as it is mostly a water flow moving the mobs towards a point for me to wack em to death.
2 - I would like either of two things. An exp farm that has no spawner (as it wouldn't be too bad for me to build that slowly) or 2 a Zombie spawner (Idk y i think this would be fun lol).
If someone can link me to a recent/relevant video i would be grateful.
Writing steps is fine, but i am not that technical so please make it simple for me to follow as i am not a seasoned minecraft player.
Btw i am just playing alone so i am not on a server or anything like that. I may go peaceful mode to build the spawner but i might just leave it as it is for the challenge.
Just for the record, you are more likely to get the "better" enchantments if you enchant an iron tool instead of a diamond tool. If you really want Fortune III, then enchant an iron pickaxe. If you only plan on using it for diamonds it will last for quite a while. At 30XP, it's almost a guarantee that you'll get more than just one enchantment as well. If you get an unbreaking enchantment, you could more than double your pickaxe's effective life.
One more thing I might add is that you may want to be careful how much you "combine" enchantments using the anvil. The more enchantments on a tool, the higher the XP repair cost will be.
Oh wow thanks you so much. I was going to ask which tool is better to enchant: whether it's an iron pickax or a diamond one. Now i see that the iron one is best. Lucky for me i was already attempting enchants on iron picks.
Keep it around. I usually keep my "garbage" enchantments in a chest nearby (unbreaking, efficiency) and combine them when I get an enchantment I want (silk, fortune) but with nothing else on them. For example, if I get a Silk Touch I pick from an enchantment I can combine it with the unbreaking and then combine that with efficiency for quite a nice tool.
Wow great tip thanks. I was wondering what the hell to do with that enchant lol.
Also since i seem to like enchantments are there any mods that you (or anyone else here) would like to recommend to me? I have played Tekkit so i have some experience. I also have friends that will help me to install them I guess i never trued mods because i
don't want to feel like i am cheating or playing on easy mode. (not to entirely say that all mods make the game easy as i have seen some very hard ones .)
/sighs Well i suppose it is pure random. As much as mods sound nice i am not so sure i wish to try one as yet - well maybe soon
I supposed that i hoped that it was somewhat identifiable. It is so hard to get to level 30+
Anywayz thanks for all of your help. Much appreciated
Edit:
P.S. I got efficiency 4 Which i am not so happy about
I am fairly new to Minecraft. I was lucky enough to reach level 35 and i would love to have the enchant known as fortune, can anyone tell me how to get it.
I know that i need an enchantment table and bookshelves. I already have my enchantment room set up. I just don't understand the randomness to the enchants. Is there anything that i need to look out for that will tell me when i have seen the fortune enchant?
A screen shot of what to look out for would be nice.
