IF THIS UPDATE IS REAL, THEN MICROSOFT HAS ONCE AGAIN RUINED MINECRAFT AND I WILL QUIT THE EFFING GAME.
EVERYONE IS FRIENDLY?????? WTF KIND OF UPDATE IS THIS??????
Step 1: Calm down.
Step 2: Check the date of today.
Step 3: Realize how stupid you are for assuming that Microsoft has "once again" ruined this game (of which they never did in the first place).
Step 4: ???
Step 5: Profit!

Oh, and one question.

Chapter 5: I know more about Norwegian Mythology than game mechanics.
Anyways, so this area really bothered me. Not because it was difficult, but because I wanted to set it on fire but couldn't because my computer would burn with it. Oh well. I suppose I should get on with it, eh?
I headed towards the top area first, remembering that there was some quality loot up there. I wasn't wrong, but it really was a pain getting up. Oh well. The trek up almost killed me, but I had some feather falling boots on, so that helped.
Hooray, I love trees! At least, I do in anything that isn't a CTM map. Seriously, how did some of these CTM conventions get started? It seems like ever since three_two made VF giant trees have been quite popular. I'm not complaining, they're fun to burn down (see my VFI play through log), but it just seems odd. Oh well, anyways, this was fun to get through. Creepers really creep me out, so I took my time. I did die once due a rather rudely placed charged creeper spawner (Death #6), but that was it.
Record time! Wooooooo. This one was annoying to get, I had to do quite a bit of work to secure it, and it was hard to get down to. I got it back safely, so at least there's that.
Wool time! Woooooo. Super easy. I grabbed a strength and regen pot and charged in, but I doubt I would have needed them. I guess I'll use this place to farm ghasts (spoiler alert, I never will because I'm lazy) but besides that...
Minecraft Version: 1.8.1. (Optifine)
Difficulty: Hard
Objectives: 5 Wool (White, Orange, Magenta, Light Blue, Yellow) 3 Records (Cat, 13, Blocks)
Deaths: 6
Next chapter will be the end of any prior knowledge (except DM which was moved) about the map. Expect much pain and many tears! Thanks for reading, see ya!

Chapter 3: Let it Go
No pictures for this one, not like there's much to show. I've got some monster farms I'll be making later, but right now it's just a horribly disfigured tower.
I went to this area previously and lit up the entrance so I could gather some materials from it, some of the loot found in the graveyard seems really OP in some cases. Buckets? Yes please! Tons of bones for farming? Sure! Grass everywhere so that animals can spawn, giving me access to really powerful potions because rabbits are cool? Yay! Power 5 Bow? Umm. Yeah. I'll take that. I feel like, in the sake of making I1 a tad more challenging, that should be nerfed a bit if the map ever gets updated again.
Anyways, so basically all I had to do was take the tower, which really wasn't hard. I guess I've just gotten really good at dealing with ice dungeons over the years, because this area was super easy. Even at the top, I fell a couple times but never died, so that's nice. Surprisingly enough, there was next to no lag in the area, so I really appreciated that. Let's just hope this stays this way for a while (*cough* *cough* Misty Deep *cough*). I really appreciated the blaze spawner, I'll totally be taking advantage of that for a farm. And the 4 ghast spawners on top? Remove the fleecy box and I've got a premade holding pen to slay them. Not bad.
Anyways, that's really all I have to say for this area. It's really pretty, and not *too* easy, although it certainly feels really simple in comparison to the intro and Orange Wool. That's the problem with colab maps?

Chapter 4: I. Hate. Libraries (and zombies).
So, the only area left in I1 is the Citadel of Sapphire, so naturally, I headed there next. Really, it was only logical. Anyways, so this place was a nightmare to secure a path down to. 2 stacks of ladders. That's a lot. It takes about the amount of time the average person will take to read this update to get back to I1 from the area. Not cool, dude.
Anyways, I took this area on at daytime, because why not right? My first objective was the armory, because I recalled there being some really good loot in there. There really wasn't, but I did find a MASSIVE array of zombie spawners. Obviously, judging by the way they were positioned, they weren't intended to spawn hundreds of zombies on you at once, so I did the only logical thing: opened up a path for them so I could slaughter them. However, what I forgot was how broken zombies are. A couple baby zombies later, and I had my first death. Deathless, goodbye old friend.
Anyways, feeling heavily defeated, I went to the library. I saw a sign that said that the underground area was off-limits, so being the good law abiding citizen I am, I went down there.
One thing, before I continue. Can I say how evil this is? A bookshelf maze, with from what I could tell hundreds of creeper and silverfish spawners underneath it, and no real point to it all, because there's nothing in it. Anyways, back to the story.
After I realized what I was facing, I tried to turn back, but it was too late. Silverfish pinned me in, and creepers finished me off.
Death #2...
I went down (fully geared) to collect my stuff, and...
Boom. Death #3.
Once more? That bow was really good...
Ka-plow. Death Numero Quadro.
ONE MORE TIME
Nope.avi. Death #5
5 Deaths. One small area. Mojang can't add any tangible content to Survival Minecraft, but they sure can buff creepers and zombies all day long. Nice.
Anyways, giving up on my stuff, I climbed the tower, because I had nothing to lose.
Didn't die once.
Of course, the Sharp 5 sword I received was quite helpful, but that's besides the point.
Anyways, onwards to the wool! I pressed the teleport button with no fear, because I remembered what I'd face, and had nothing to lose. Oh, and it appears as though Depth Fog is broken, or something, because it was clear as day when I teleported in. So, that made things a bit easier when I used some pistons I found earlier to get up the structure. Pistons are awesome, btw. Don't listen to anything Zisteau says about taking your time, or always checking things out before you dedicate an attack on them, just bring pistons and it'll all be okay (have you guys had any luck chasing that crazy pigman down? He's mentioned upgrading, but nothing about having the map overseer do it for him, which would be a far cleaner process).
So, that's that, I guess. I got out really easily, and since the path to I2 was switched to the mines, I had a tough time finding it, but not getting to it, because void fog's broken, remember?

Oh I can't wait to crush this map to pieces like I did Vigillis Oculus! I mean... You're really working hard on this, thanks! I'm sure it'll be a great map once you're finished.

Chapter 2: Make like a tree and leaf!
You know how I said I've played the first 2 intersections before? That came in handy. This area is seriously a walk in the park if you know what you're doing. I made a beeline towards the enchantment table, and spent some time setting that up (woo level 30 enchanted stone tools) near my base. The tree itself was rather easy to get up into, the potion spawner at the top of the ladder caught me by surprise, and I had to box up to keep from getting shot (spoiler alert, I don't beat the map deathless, quite the opposite actually, but I don't die here). The record was really easy to get, the cave spiders caused some issues, and zombies were annoying as always, but nothing too bad. By the way, wolf farms! I made one of those instantly. Quite nice to have a large group of canines attacking things, especially when they only attack the regular zombies and not the baby zombies heading straight for you at mach 7 while you have only one heart, thanks wolf (foreshadowing is my specialty).
The top of the tree was a bit different though. You know what they did in 1.5 to zombies? Well, that was the worst change, ever. Seriously, one of these things suddenly turns into an unkillable horde, all because I failed to break a single spawner in time. I had to do quite a bit of tunnel ratting to even progress, and the vines didn't help. The all in all, the wool wasn't too hard to get, just a bit annoying. I escaped the dungeon with all the loot and no deaths, blissfully unaware of what awaited me in the future (seriously, at this point I had named the Power 5 bow the "Deathless Bow". I tend to be really cocky when I've only completed 2/16 of a map).
Oh, and since I promised pictures, here's a small album of my base. I have a rabbit farm, but that was built after I took the pictures, and, well... I'm lazy. So enjoy.

Trust me, I guarantee my computer is worse than yours, and that area seems fine to me. If you haven't already, try installing Optifine and turning everything down that you can. If that doesn't help, you may have some other issue.

Chapter 1: Out of the frying pan, into Hell itself.
The Starting Area seems to have been significantly toned down from the last release. I only ran into a couple mobs that bothered me, and getting up to the record was a piece of cake. I noticed that the loot in the following area was made far more useful and capable of sustaining a person, so that was nice (10ish flint and steels? Whoever made that change really doesn't want people to ragequit the first area). I still noticed a lack in food within chests, but thanks to the fishing poles and good luck with zombie flesh I was able to make it out okay. The netherack area was made far easier, that or I've gotten much better at the game. I hardly noticed any mobs, and getting in and lighting up spawners was easy. The chests were also fairly easy to get, but that's not really notable.
Walking into the temple section of the area (you might even call it a PANTHEON), I realized just how broken zombies could be. Thanks to the knockback II disc, they didn't cause too much of a fuss, but still. The spider area was noticeably different. I could have sworn in the original version there were cave spiders and more spawners in general. It was far easier than usual because of this. Quite nice, actually. I grabbed the wool without any problems, and moved on. The final area was quite easy, with the exception of some bad luck with natural spawns, and the skeleton spawners at the end nearly killed me, but not quite. So yeah, sort of an uneventful area. There are some minor changes I noticed, such as the ghast spawner count being reduced to 1 (probably for the best, if memory serves), but that's about it. I hope that the future updates will be far more exciting to read, but so early into the map I was sort of forced to take the normal path and not do too many interesting things, so once I get lava buckets... it's on.
Oh, and I'm doing this thing deathless if I can. Hard Difficulty. Yeah, I'm crazy.
Minecraft Version: 1.8.1 (Optifine)
Objectives: 1 Wool (White), 1 Record (cat)
Difficulty: Hard
Deaths: Deathless
Future updates will have pictures, but I didn't really make anything worth showing off, so I decided to keep it text only. See ya next time!

I'm not going to write up a proper update for it until later, but I've already cleared the first area with 0 deaths and both the wool and record safely tucked away in my base. I guess that's partially due to prior knowledge of the first 6-ish areas, but I like to think it was pure skill. Thankfully the lag isn't too bad, although I do have literally everything turned way down on my Optifine settings, so...
If I remember correctly, Dormant Mines was a trainwreck for anybody without a top-notch computer. Was that alleviated any in the recent release, or is it still going to be the "What if" of my playthrough, leaving me constantly hoping I don't get to that point and then stopped by teleporting creepers and endless block lag?

So I felt that since Zisteau has taken up the challenge, among others, and the fact that the new version is out, I figured there was no better time. I've still got a totally awful computer, but hopefully Optifine will keep me above 5 fps throughout most of the map. I'm sticking to Hard difficulty the entire map, and I have no plans to change that, even if I do get stuck in the opening area (that's balanced now, right? :P). I've taken down some of the hardest CTM maps in history (I showed Zero Mercy Zero Mercy), but this thing is a different beast entirely. Here we go?
Oh, and I'll update through spoilered text after every major acomplishment. Given the fact that this map is 20 objectives with 12 records, that means on average 25 updates throughout my playthrough, give or take to make room for construction of farms or non-objective related progress. I'll try not to flood the thread, I promise!
EDIT: and I'm doing everything in my power to do it deathless so bring it on, map makers

One question though? I can't find the orange wool. Like at all. I have all of the dungeon cleared out, but I can't find it. Help?

Simulation Protocol #2 - Overload is out. I haven't played it, but it looks good. Alongside that Remote District #3 is out, and it looks gorgeous, so there's that.

Is your map an Open-World one? I checked your thread, but there's really not much info on it. I kind of like the idea of a totally barren Open-World, with extremely detailed and alien caverns underneath, and since it is the moon after all, perhaps you could take the time to explore some totally new area themes?

I didn't finish the map on my playthrough (mostly because I'm using a really awful original macbook and my computer melted unless I had the view distance at two chunks), but I actually recall that area being really easy. Like, easiest area in the map. Not even kidding. Ender Pearls helped though, yea, thanks tree_two.
Oh! And about the record...
