One thing I am eager to see is the Wither as a new boss, perhaps in the Nether or a whole new dimension. It needs a bit of work and brainstorming so it isn't to overpowered or so.

Anyways they have said that the Nether and the End both need some more work, which we can agree on. They both need some more spice :). Nevertheless it is possible for the Wither to spawn in the Nether as a boss but not as the Ender dragon, you wouldn't have to kill it to progress. The health bar that comes up only when you are watching it directly is also a hint for this.
One thing is for sure, don't dream too much about it, coz with Mojang, it can be finished as soon as the next snapshot

The Seed "adventure" has a plain village really close, and it somewhat needs some rearranging, as there are holes, broken pathways and stuff, great place for what you are looking for, like helping them, building, expanding etc. Enjoy

Exactly and it took me quite some time to realize that.
I ignored trees for some time too... So how do I make tools or something.

OMG OMG I found a village with workbench! I I knew that I can craft things but I didn't know most (read 90 %) of the recipes until I got to the wiki.
The first nights were absolutely the crazy time. Running around the forest from hostile mobs trying to figure out where I left the chest with items. No food as usual.
