Update: I haven't gotten much work done, but I have gotten a house built. Hopefully I'll get the new laptop up and running and I'll be able to really get going.
Monarch, great news here! A person from my stepdad's work (don't worry, I still keep in touch with both sides of the family) happened to have a spare laptop computer with a lot more processing power, more RAM, and Java 8! That means I'll be able to restart the challenge. I'm going to keep it non-modded for now(except for minor ones like Treecapitatior and NEI), but I'll add in the rest of the modlist when we get the better laptop fully set up. I'm hoping to start the beginners challenge for now, but i'll add in the rest to my world later on.
Whatever pleases you, Monarch. It is your lets play after all! Anyways, reason I'm posting is for some big news: I'm getting a better laptop, so once I transfer all my data from here to there, I might be able to upgrade my challenge to a one with more mods.
Wow, a lot of posts came overnight... but I got a working modpack going, containing Thaumcraft, IC, NEI, Chicken Chunks, Treecapatior, Forge Microblocks and the rest of Forge multipart (which shows up in NEI for some reason), and the mod version of Optifine! Oh, almost forgot to mention Harvestcraft. Anyways, I'll get a log of stage one coming soon!
Hello, and welcome to the Empire Expansion challenge! This is partially inspired by the Fantasy City Build Challenge, which was in turn inspired by the City Construction Challenge. I'm just making my own spin-off version off it, taking the races from the FCB challenge and making new challenges for them.
Anyways, here's your goal: Reach the end of the challenge! That's it. So, here comes the races and rules..
Rules -
Play on survival, except for planning your buildings... but please do that in a seperate world.
Follow the rules for your current stage in your challenge.
Complete all buildings and collection items before moving on to the next stage.
Have some fun, and try not to rage quit.
Collection rules-
Collect what is in the current stage, and don't add on to what would be in the collection chest already to reach the total for this stage all-together.
For example-
If I had 32 wood in a chest already, and the challenge told me to get a stack of wood,
I would end up with a stack and a half of wood.
Beginner's Challenge:
Stage 1 - Starting Off
Rules-
Can use up to cobblestone
Iron can only be smelted to make buckets and shears
Building Requirements-
Build your house - must be larger than other houses by at least one room, and have 3 rooms minimum with a bed.
Build two other houses - must be at least 2 rooms big, and have a bed.
Build a medium sized wheat farm - 5 X 5 to 7 X 7
Collection Requirements-

Stage 2 - Protecting The City
Rules-
Can use anything but gold, redstone, and diamond

Ok. This sounds epic, and looks cool. I will download it straight away!

Okay, finished the 1st stage, completely vanilla! (then again, what's the point of playing modded if you do it that way?)
Well, here it is. With lots of crashing yet not a single creeper crater, my city!
....... this is awkward, Imgur's not working.
Well, guess I'll put it in the attachments. Sorry!
Oh, and the interiors of the houses are all exactly the same.
1
Woo! Insta-downloading this, we've been waiting for it forever!

Could you please add a zip file to this? My computer has Windows, so it gets a bit hard to download with Windows not supporting rar files.
