    you are using dev versions, those don't work outside a developers environment.

    mod the config files means just that. Modify the config files themselves. Just don't use notepad. Use wordpad or notepad++.

    there are several in game commands and they start with /cms

    recipe mode will not give you items, you have to use the cheat mode for that.

    EDIT: I hadn't used the enhancer before. With the enhancer, all of the armor renders properly, and most of it now binds to the player model. The only exception is the Lord of the Rings mod, which renders but does not bind. Maybe not a complete fix, but a huge improvement. Thanks for the help.


    EDIT 2: I've ben exploring things and found in the .minecraft folder a pair of files, "render_player_api_Enhancer_classnamepatterns" and "render_player_api_Enhancer_classnames". In the second, I found some thaumcraft armor model classes:

    In the first, I found something I didn't understand:

    I understand the top part about uncommenting, but what does the line below mean? Can I use either of these files to assist in compatibility with other mods? I've already tried adding LotR mod class names for armor models and renders to the first file, but it hasn't done anything yet.

    you need as much as is necessary to run all those mods. try 3GB if you can.
