Took me a moment to realise that 7 years ago was 2016...

In 2017 the forum merged with Twitch. Some of us, myself included, opposed that change and logged out for good. Then EUDPR laws came into effect and those (again, myself included) who hadn't consented to our data being stored had our accounts deleted. I lost my original account that I set up in June 2013.

Then around 2019 it was announced that the forum would be going read-only. I came back to give the forum a final send off because it formed a large part of my childhood. I now firmly believe that this was a conspiracy set up by citricsquid to bump up the forum activity. It worked. For a bit.

Then citric retired. I wonder what he's up to these days.

I wouldn't say the forum is dead, but I'll put it this way. I made 3000 posts in 4 years on my old account (not including FG posts). I've had this account for roughly the same amount of time and I haven't even made 30 posts. Nostalgia brings me back.

Discord happened.

I like Discord but it gets cluttered. I miss the days of being able to log onto a forum (namely this one) and having all the discussions of the day separated for you to choose to engage with at your leisure.

No one really used forums anymore I've noticed. I'm here, as well as a handful of others. But these days I find it much easier to join a Discord server or a Facebook group to get any information I need.

Hey, it's Kuro. My old account was deleted but some may remember me from when I was active a few years ago.

Yes, this place was/is full of bugs (see attached), most of which were never fixed. Yes this place is dead. But that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the time I had here. Even though I haven't made a post here since 2017 I'm still kinda sad that this place is going read-only. It's truly the end of an era.
